Hi and thanks for your FPV video’s of the trails you ride. I live here in Henderson County about 4 miles from the Kanuga Bike Park and have yet to try it out. Because of your video, I’ll be riding Kanuga this week. Thanks.
Gotcha, for some reason I thought you guys were Canadian. Anyway, when things loosen up, give me a shout and I'll introduce you to plus 30 km of awesome flow trail! In the meantime, enjoy this video about the trail: ruclips.net/video/uGaUlVIobC4/видео.html
@@dukeofmtb Thanks...im trying so hard to convince myself and my buddy that we can do this...that the drive from Kansas is really worth it...its been a long winter and we are itching for a ride...cheers.
we were supposed to go ride Bailey Mountain after seeing that video you had previously posted...sadly, the park closed for good last march 22...if we only knew that they were closing, you could have gone before they closed.
@@edenubo Yeah, we literally went a few days after they were open for the last time. We were gonna ride Bailey for 2 days. I'm so sad. 2 bike parks closed now. Blue in Ontario, and now Bailey. 😥
2 things with Ride Kanuga: 1) Rent an ebike, you'll have WAY more fun since you can get in 2-3 times more laps. 2) Ride Evergreen. It's a green trail but it's SICK. My average speed for the whole descent is normally over 20 mph, I usually get up to around 27+ mph in some spots.
Really? All coincidence. Duke just happened to be my "gamer tag" from back in my gaming days. I didn't expect the channel to turn into the way it is now, otherwise I would have just named it Ed & Cory. 😅
@@dukeofmtb TOW ROPE RENTALS?! That's friggin hilarious! xD I love it haha I'd love to spend a day there on the DH bike, using the ebike tow lift ;) haha so sick! :D
@@RobbisTV Yup. Saw a few dudes towing their buddies up like that. Dudes on ebikes would just leave us in the dust on the way back up. I've never seen so many ebikes in one place like at Kanuga. They have some huuuge jumps there too. The one we hit is tiny compared to the double black stuff they have.
@@RobbisTV Honestly just rent an ebike yourself, you'll get more laps in versus having someone toe you up. You really don't need a downhill bike for this trail system.
hello Duke of MTB just wanted to ask you some questions, i am probably going to start my own youtube channel on mountain biking. I recently found the hobby/sport and fell in love with it but the problem is I went to stony yesterday and everything was iced over is there anywhere in Michigan that is not iced over that i could make content on, also I have a go pro hero 5 session is that good enough. And I was wondering if you use a gopro, and if so do you colour grade your images so they look better. thank you for taking the time to read this, you, cbyr, and bkxc are my biggest inspirations and I hope one day i can ride with you as a friend.
I don't think there's anywhere to ride right now except for fat bikes. You could try Ray's in Ohio though. And yes, I use a GoPro and color grade to make it a little more appealing on the eyes. I'm glad you enjoy our stuff. Good luck on your channel, and feel free to say hi if you spot us on a trail somewhere. 👍
I think this was in October. From the bottom of Tortuga, maybe 15 - 20 minutes to the peak and only a minute back to the top of Tortuga. By the end of the day, most people just do laps on Tortuga.
@@dukeofmtb bike was worth it. some folks were done after 2-3 runs. I had so many more. Next time a battery charger will help spread out the day a bit.
@@blackdogadventures7531 Yeah, climbing up more than 2 or 3 times to the top sucks. That's why most folks just ride Tortuga all day. Lol. Glad you had fun with the ebike though. I can't get one myself until they makes ones small enough for Cory too. It just wouldn't be fair to her. 😅
This place is like mtb heaven. Those jumps are beautiful smooth and groomed.
You know they're good when noobs like us can actually clear them 😅
"I CLEARED IT", she screams! love it! Totally relived my own memories of Tortuga. Great video guys!
The stoke is real! 🤘😁 Thanks! 😊
Great video, guys!
Thanks! 😊
I always enjoy your videos...keep connected

That's great! Glad the vid had that effect. I think you'll really enjoy Kanuga. If I lived that close, I'd be there every day after work. Have fun! 😁👍
Those jumps big even with the GoPro effect
The biggest we ever hit. Lucky there's no gap. 😬
They have updated Hemloch since this video. The features are bigger and the berms have been built up twice the size!
Great overview of the place! It looks awesome.
Come visit us in Kitchener and ride the Hydrocut!
One day. Border is still closed for us. We miss riding in Ontario so much, especially Blue Mountain.

Sana all😍
Just rode kanuga for the first time and it was awesome but I had to ride my dirt jumper the whole time because my sister rode my trail bike
Bet it was still fun. 😁👍
Yeah just really tiring
@@Peak_Mtb lol. For sure.
Yeahhboiii! Awesome jumps those are huggge! 🤙🤙
Nice! Your jumping is coming along!
Thanks! Better baby steps than no steps, am I right? 😅
I was just at rays mtb park and saw you guys on our way out
Really!? I hope you had fun at Ray's. 😁👍
Crazy jumps😁 coz!
Also a nice place to trail🤪
always a blast to watch you guys ride...were planning to go ride there but the climbing part is a bit of a turn off....if only there was a shuttle.
It's not too bad. Do a couple climbs to the top, then spend the rest of the day on Tortuga...or, rent one of their ebikes. 😁👍

Just found your channel and subbed. I look forward to checking out more!

Tortuga is so fun. Perfect size, for me anyway.

A buddy of my got a job a i9, and I’m so jealous that this is one of his local spots
That whole side of the state is just packed with so many options. It's ridiculous how much there is to ride there.
im happy for her she seem so exited like a kid at Disney world for the first time. good job Cory keep it up.
Great stuff,, an Cory must have taken the front brake off, so glad she's not crashing, keep the videos coming, good job,

Awesome place! How long does it take to climb to the top?
15 to 20 minutes. But it's only 1 or 2 minutes to Tortuga, so everybody just rides Tortuga at the end of the day.
I love how this channel is named duke of mtb and kanuga is in north carolina and their is a college their named duke

Haha. I'm sure it will. 👍
That was awesome! Do they plan on getting a shuttle eventually at Kanuga by chance for the DH riders? Cool looking bike park! Good shreds! :D
Probably not. You can have a buddy on an ebike tow you up though. They have ebike and tow rope rentals. 😁

Not very fun fact: Tortuga means Turtle 🐢 in Spanish. That trail is named after a fast ass turtle apparently.
Lol. I think it's because of the shape of the main jump. Looks like a turtle from the side. 😁
