      My favorite of the old Fords as well. The simplicity of them is what is so appealing. I would drive it. Thanks. Stevo

    Hey there. What part of Canada are you in? I am in southwestern Ontario.
    What is the colour called?
    I love it!

      Everyone comments on the color. It is a Ford tungsten grey code M7. I reside in central Alberta. Thanks for the comment. Stevo

    Should have done chemical dip, alot less work and alot better job in building. Takes all down to metal and easy to work the body. Well worth the cost.

    This project inspires me! I am working on a 1949 Ford F2 Pickup. Where did you buy the small lights that go in the tube of the bed roll? I haven't been able to locate these, but not sure I am looking for the correct items.

    • @stevoj8959
      @stevoj8959  16 дней назад

      I am sure you can get them from LMC or Dennis Carpenter. We are having a tough time finding some of these parts now. They do look cool. Just finishing up on a 72 Ford but the 56 is still my favorite. Thanks. Stevo

      I think you are right about the Thunder Bird engine. I remember my brother talking about an engine that he got out of a T Bird. The truck beat our expectations and is one that I wished that I owned. Now looking for the next big project. Thanks Dave. Stevo

    Curious on what type of primer you used over bare metal and type on filler used? Doing my 56 now, just finished filling in holes and rust issues on cab.

    • @stevoj8959
      @stevoj8959  11 месяцев назад +1

      I use a Cloverdale Dura Prime epoxy first then a couple coats of U-pol high build. When it comes to fillers, the price varies quite a bit so now I am using a filler called Featherite. Has good adhesion and sands well then I top it of with some Half Time two part putty. Hope that helps. Stevo

    The stance on the truck is awesome. I want to get mine off the ground. What suspension did the truck have and was it lifted from stock ?

    • @stevoj8959
      @stevoj8959  6 месяцев назад

      The only thing that is different is the 9 inch differential other than that, the suspension is stock. If you are looking to get it of the ground more, a body lift would maybe be the way to go. Thanks. Stevo

    Really nice job! The one thing that surprised me was the amount of metal fabrication you did/had to do. But then again those details made it a better fit and finished truck than ever rolled off the assembly line.

      Thanks. The metal work seems it never ends on these old builds. I was surprised at how poorly some of the new tins fit and the amount of work required. All worth it in the end though. Thanks again. Stevo
