Hi! Your channel has taught me more about restoring bags than any other channel. I really appreciate your episodes on restoring handles and I need your help. I have 3 bright red Chanel totes with flat, raw edges that need some love. The edges where the exterior seams meet have peeled off in places exposing the black leather underneath. Also, are a few scuffs on the outside corners where the leather folds inward, but the texture is caviar, not glossy. Please recommend products and procedures! You are the best, Jo
clean with saddle soap first and let dry; remove oils and such which inhibit the dye. i guess you could clean the raw spots with alcohol, ill defer to his experience on that but why he doesn't tell you to clean first idk...
Love it! I’m starting on my journey and I’ve sort of stumbled upon this hobby and now I’m obsessed. Thanks, any other play list you recommend for beginners?
I have a similar question. Epi leather probably has a layer of plastic on top, while the bag he dyed here seems to be only leather, no coating on top. So I'm thinking it might be different.
@annelisabethcom hi! I’m sorry I never got to reply to this. Actually, it should still work especially in the spots that have the color loss because the finish would be gone from those spots as well, but for black Epi leather, you can use black acrylic leather paint (I recommend angelus brand) and that will do the trick to repair color loss on that for sure.
Need your guidance…I have a Vintage Leather Coach purse whose hardware has some green residue and a bit of the zipper green residue transfer to the lining. How do I clean off that green residue from the hardware and especially from the lining? I do have some brasso but having a difficult time cleaning in between we’re the hardware and leather straps attached to the hardware.
Thanks for that very important information. I was very concerned that it will rub onto my clothes. So I will be sure to buy the dye and not the polish
The kiwi leather dye is amazing!!! Love this product ❤
Wow, it’s so good that you brought these back… Your tips came in super handy.. Thanks Hadrian
