Such a pleasure to watch. Don’t know if you reached out to the lady you got the jacket from yet, but just check with her if she would want it back before you regift it. Certain items maybe too painful to have around. It would be a beautiful gesture if she wants it back. We all need a little kindness these days 🙏🏼. I came here wondering if I could bring my beloved 19 year old leather jacket back to life. You’ve given me hope. I can’t wait to try it! Thank you!
This is going to help me a bit i've had a jacket handed down to me by my grandad, it was nowhere near as bad as this was but it needs attention as it was kept in his cupboard for a few years,
Very useful video. Got a vintage bomber jacket in good condition at a flea market. Intend to take good care of it and was wondering about using Antiquax, a beewax and carnauba wax polish originally made for furniture ? Thank you.
Do you have any tips on removing wrinkles from leather? I thrifted a neglected leather jacket, and the collar had been improperly folded on itself while it was stored and hung up. I've got some serious wrinkles on the collar itself and the zipper area, which I am worried about despite taking great care to keep that area well moisturized. Or is it more trouble than it's worth to try and correct them now that they are well formed? This channel has been a godsend recently!
You can place a damp towel over the area and iron it on the lowest iron setting or use a steamer at its lowest setting. Essentially reintroduce moisture and massage and coerce the leather back into the desired form while it dries. I can do a video on this for the pockets of the jacket I just restored since they were folded up due to improper storage if that would be helpful?
Kitchen oils like olive, canola, or avocado oil aren’t recommended for leather since they can oxidize and go rancid. They can actually deteriorate leather. I’d recommend neatsfoot oil or a leather conditioner
Hi, how do I clean bomber jackets? I'm not too sure if the one I have is leather but the one I have has fabric on the seams, not too sure how to clean those areas. Thank you!
I restore a lot of WW2 leather flight ware. And believe me you don't want the so called patina. It will change color and start to crack and split. Then it's to late for the restoration of the item.
The RUclips algorithm came in cluth with this recommendation what a pleasant watch.

This was a really nice video, thank you so much for showing the process in detail.
Glad it was helpful!

That should work!

@@edcvibesplease do a video on this!
I want to see the lady's reaction when you show or give it to her. 😊
Would olive oil be a good moisturizer?

Check out the latest video on my channel where I show how to clean the fabric areas of leather jackets!
I have same design jacket
Did you end up sealing the jacket?
So for the mink oil it is not available in Canada… do you recommend any other oil&polish for us Canadian?
Neatsfoot oil, beeswax, or Lexol
