These are beast subs. I have two. I change which mode every now an then depending how I feel. I have been running sealed lately as I feel all around for music and movies, it sounds accurate and movie theater type bass. If you want absolute loud then open all ports and it will blast you. The only down side is these do tax you with finding all the rattles your room can possibly have/they create tremendous pressure in the room. When I tested the edge of tomorrow, my wife came downstairs to the theater room and ask what I was doing? The whole house is shaking...😁

I noticed port noise with my PB-16 too in extended mode. I'm willing to bet that removing the port plug from the middle port and doing standard mode will decrease the port's air velocity a bit and mitigate the port noise in the lower frequencies. Haven't tried it yet though.

Nice! I'd love to sit in on a demo of this beast. Years ago I sat in on a demo at a friend's and the movie playing was The Matrix. Don't recall the model but the brand was Martin Logan. I imagine this SVS would be just as if not more impressive.
They make a sub called balanced force. It's got dual 12's. Almost the same size as the SVS. I almost grabbed that but figured the SVS would be more capable.
@@TheSwartz you have to put it wherever it sounds the best in the room. I’ve spent days reading forums, and doing subwoofer crawls. You are hearing how it sounds and reacts in the room rather than the speaker it’s self.

cant wait, i am really looking forward to this one. i spoke briefly with gene a while ago before it came out, and he said its a beast, not in so many words.
Edge of tomorrow intro scene is notorious for chuffing on subs with smaller diameter ports. In my diy enclosure I have all 3 slotted ports at 7 1/4" x 3 1/2" to minimizes port chuff if not eliminate it completely.
Not sure why everyone picks on SVS PB-16 for Edge of Tomorrow??? a) that frequency hits lower than the published range of the sub b) its 10 seconds c) you will not find that level on anything else, in any other movie. Its like saying.. My Porche makes a crashing noise when I drive over 200 MPH. :) I own a pair of them, and I can't find anything to complain about, but know this.. if you play EOT scene enough, you will blow that thing.
SpareChange now that's what I'd love to have, I have dual PB-2000's and the Ultra bookshelves for front L/R, also for my surrounds and the Ultra center. What is the minimum spec AVR you would recommend for this subwoofer and 2 Definitive Technology BP9040's and 1 CS9060 center channel?
