I was born in Central America and remember eating these as a kid. They're delicious, I only wish they sold them in bags as big as the ones in this video :P

I read all these negative comments and I'm ashamed, these people don't get to choose where they are born, I like the fact that they are making their own way in the world playing the cards they are dealt with. Some people are best to say nothing, at least that way they can feel superior in there own mind, and not look like a complete fool here.

Shayne Rice I so agree with you. I went to this Chinese restaurant the waiter dropped the bun on the floor and placed the plate on costumers table. Tell me do you think that's clean,no. So don't complain about hygiene these people are doing their best I have bought from not so clean vendors what do I do,Pray. Yes I would eat those plantains I don't know why they call them bananas they are not. For everyone who complains about hygiene think twice American restaurants aren't any better. Watch behind the kitchen doors and I'll find out what disgusting is!

My husband and I are Americans. My husband worked in
Malayasia & Indonesia, we bought banana chips from street
vendors all the time, big batches. The chips were cooked in
the blackest of black oil I've ever seen outside crankcase oil,
but those banana chips were the BEST tasting snacks we've
ever eaten. The temp of the oil was so high, it would kill any
germ or bug. Hubby & I never got sick from eating the chips.
We practially could hardly go a day without them. We never
got sick from any foods over there. Although the chips are
the only street food we ever ate. Mainly ate in our own apt.
or hotel restaurant. We also ate a LOT of times in the 5* places.
Mainly inviting corporate execs. and they invited us other times.
Banana chips were still our favorites. Can't get them here in the
    States.

I have had all sorts of chips in many parts of the world, but nothing comes close to this Nendran chips they make in pure coconut oil in Kerala and few parts of Tamil Nadu. Agree with other posts that it tastes like heaven when it's eaten fresh. It beats any competition by wide margin and many are not even a comparison. So much so when I have access to this one, I wouldn't even look at other imposters like Lays and Haldirams :)

    • @Juvelqairth
      @Juvelqairth 5 лет назад +3

When too much cleaning goes wrong...
Microorganisms, such as t-cells which defends against bacteria and virii [sic: viruses]. But without it, they will turn into an "idiot" microorganisms when they enter that is not harmful, triggers to protect it. And thus, the allergy is born. Also some of allergens can kill you just like virii, cancer and the bacteria.
Then better to talk about hygiene hypothesis though

And that ladies and gentlemen this is how business dynasties are born. Banana chips today, fast forward 30 years later and the little boy in blue is the CEO of Kerala Food Company. Offcourse by then the family will have diversified into industrial food processing, real estate, a fleet of fishing trawlers, a yatch docked in some beautiful port in the Mediterranean sorrounded by beautiful people and a penthouse in Downtown NewYork...maybe even attending the mayoral dinner banquets due to their contribution towards the City......by then our most of you will not see daring Asian men and women entrepreneurs making food by the road side but money from Kerala Food Co to be invested on the Dow..if you can't fathom this dream people, you aren't living..these people are living their dreams......nice video by the way yaar..

Sara Israel. Is that a statement if fact or of belief? Boiled in oil kills everything you dumbass and you dont have to buy it anyway. It's for people who want it n appreciate it. This food is cooked in the open so anybody can see what it is n how it is there's nothing hidden, buyers know what they're getting. When food is cooked hidden from view rules apply idiot but when you're in you're in your kitchen cooking for yourself you can cook your sh*t anyway you like it dumbass. Dirty? People buy what they want to. You don't like it so don't. Bring your own meals wherever you go. Deep fried foods are not healthy anyway no matter how clean but they don't care but probably love deep fried foods that'll shorten your life don't you? My dad would whip up pisang goering (Indonesian fried bananas) at like 1AM. He'd be in the kitchen mixing the batter with a fork, humming to himself, with a huge pile of chopped plantains sitting on a cutting board on the sink. Pretty soon the whole house would smell and you could come in and get some and a cup of tea. He'd put them in a big container but they were the best when eaten right after frying when they cooled, especially in the winter. My mom would wake up the next morning with everything washed, dried, and put away and the only evidence was the big container of fried bananas.

99.7% of you talking about how dirty it is and you'll never eat it will never have the chance to go there anyway because you can't afford the trip. So cut the virtual sour grapes and just watch how people in the rest of the world make a living.

Ignore the snobs. Cooking in the open is no different then barbecue or grilling in the western world. We are accustomed to it. Chips turned out perfect. Now that is talent!

Nobody says this is Kerala. The description of the video clearly says that this is in Tamil Nadu. But the type of banana used is called Kerala Nendran.
