Even Logesh’s Malay is impressive! I used to be extremely fluent during my student days as I studied in Malay schools. I live in Singapore now, and after so many years of not speaking the language, I’ll stutter if I open my mouth to speak it. How does Logesh maintain his fluency having live abroad for so long?

it must be so hard for her to learn foreign language. i hope rachel doesnt feel discouraged. i learnt arabic for my whole life as malaysian and yet i still cannot speak correctly or even have a good conversation. p/s: thank you kumar for this but i suggest dont say 'gagal' too much. it may discourage rachel but i know you dont meant it. love you guys.
Arabic is one of the hardest but Malay is one of easiest especially for those native English because there are some Malay words borrowed from English. Also malay doesn't have tense like English which make it even easier.
Hi Rachel here!! I am glad that Malay does have certain similarities as English, but it definitely has been challenging since I’m not forced to use it everyday and haven’t had a set curriculum to practice. Thankfully Logesh is a patient teacher (even when he teases me!) and especially sweet comments like yours and everyone else’s really encourages me to keep learning and trying!

I am glad that Malay does have certain similarities as English, but it definitely has been challenging since I’m not forced to use it everyday and haven’t had a set curriculum to practice. Thankfully Logesh is a patient teacher (even when he teases me!) and especially sweet comments like yours and everyone else’s really encourages me to keep learning and trying!
Ngl Malay is really easy to learn, I'm a chinese, and I only mastered Malay in less than 1 year!

It's good to keep the formality while speaking BM. Afterall bahasa baku BM is our lingua franca for all. 😄 terbaik bro logesh boleh kawal penggunaan bahasa melayu. My suggestion rasanya Rachel boleh tengok berita bahasa melayu like kat TV1 atau buletin utama TV3. 😄
