  • How well dose the Tamron 18-300 lens work on the Sony a6700 for both photos and video.
    See sample photos and video from the Tamron 18-300 lens shot with the Sony a6700. Going from the 18mm end to the full 300mm zoom end to see. Is the Tamron 18-300 the best lens for you and your use. How is the sharpness and focus. How well is the background bokeh blur at different zoom ranges watch and see.
    Here is an Amazon link to buy the lens. Buying from the link helps me to keep going making more video thanks.

    Good video. Audio suggestion: Use a deadcat wind filter and make sure the mic is about 12 inches away. This will reduce the very loud plosives in the video. You can do some of it in post as well with iZotope RX or similar but best to get a clean original.

    I have the Tamron 70-300 on my a6500 and it is one of my favourite combinations. I am amazed how good some of the telphoto shots are- nice and sharp with good contrast. The lens is so light that I don't mind having it in the bag ,just in case . I can imagine that it would really shine on the a6700.

      After handing on 18-300 I chose 70-300 which has no lens stability tho, because it's much more smooth when you twist it.

    I daily this combo and love it. I have two a6700s, one that that lens lives on and the other I test lenses on. But that’s my nature hiking setup. With the ECM B1M up top.

    Thank you for this video. I literally am considering going for this camera & lens setup for some casual nature/wildlife photography videography. And all in one outdoor kinda amateur stuff. Also definitely waiting for the 70-350 lens review and a comparison with this lens!

      I grabbed a Sigma 18-50 and the Sony 70-350, and have now seen this lens. Should I swap them both out for this one and then maybe invest in a smaller prime?

  • @JoshConnectMedia
    @JoshConnectMedia 3 месяца назад +1

    Why would you practically need 70 - 350mm? You starting closer and going up-close? I would have stayed with the Tamron though … But guess you have a different target of contents you plan shooting.. Nice shots coming from the Tamron though.

    I have an a6600. I have the Sony 70-350 and the Sigma 100-400. The Sigma is a very good lens and I like it. The Sony 70-350 is better. Both lenses are sharp but the Sony lens is lighter, faster, and smaller. By faster, I don't mean aperture, I mean responsiveness and focus speed. Native Sony lenses generally do work 'better' than third party lenses do, on Sony cameras, as one would expect. It's nice that it starts wider than the Sigma, but not a big deal for me. The 50mm less reach on the long end is also not a big deal, for me. A minimalist kit I always have with me is the camera, and either a Sony 18-135 or a Tamron 17-70 2.8 paired with the Sony 70-350. Oh, and usually one of my macro lenses, too.

      I just did a full day of shooting with both the Sony 70-350 and the Tamron 18-300 and the Tamron out focused the Sony by far in fact at times on some plants in the 8 to ten foot range the Sony could not focus on them at all till I focused it at the larger part first and then moved it up. I am working on the video for this I shot them side one after another in the same spot using two a6700s I have. I am going to send the Sony 70-350 back after this test. I was going to send the Tamron back but the Tamron did better and is just as sharp in the 70-300 range and I like the color from it better. My Tamron 17-70 is also a great lens nice and sharp every bit as sharp as the Sony 16-55 I have.

      @@goactivemedia Perhaps you got a 70-350 lens with some issues. Your experience is far different than mine. My 70-350 is fast, responsive and sharp. Definitely my favorite lens, in that category.

    good video, I have heard that this lens has some sharpness problems, but looking at the photos and videos you have taken with your A6700 it looks much better than with a Fuji. I have the A6600 and the Sony 18-135 lens is very sharp, I recommend it

      I have not had and focus or sharpness problems. Maybe its the a6700 that it works better on with the newer focus system.

    Hi. how does the image quality compare to using the rx10 i, ii, iii or iv?

    • @goactivemedia
      @goactivemedia 2 месяца назад

      I did buy the RX newest one and sent it back as the image quality is very dated looking a not in the same league as the A6700 and 18-300 lens or any lens on the a6700. I shot a lot of video with it to and it looks good till you mix it in with A6700 shot or other video and you can see right away the a6700 video quality is so much better so much so I feel like I dont.
      want to use any of the video I shot from the RX as it looks weak when mixed in other other videos. It's the same with photos. They are ok just not great like you get from the a6700.
      When I sent to back is when I ordered the A6700 and Tamron 18-300. Will be doing an interview with another photographer tomorrow using the two a6700s I have. I have the dummy batterys for them to run them to help them not over heat..

    Good video. I'd guess the sony glass will be better. I wouldn't rule out the 70-200mm f2.8 GMII, but it's pricey.

      I have the 70-350 in now but I have a few jobs to do first and then I will shoot then side by side the 18-300 and 70-350, from some quick tests the background blur on the 70-350 is much nicer. I will shoot some clear image zoom on them to.

    Capture One just put out full a6700 RAW support today. So now looking at the same images from the Sony raw files VS the DNG I used I can get much better color now and over all look a cleaner look. The sharpness is still the same good or bad.

    If I look at the small wobbles at 6:15, the stabilization at 300mm seems mediocre. I don't understand why my Samsung s23 or old Panasonic fz1000 has better stabilization when zoomed in.

    • @JacobInzerillo
      @JacobInzerillo 8 месяцев назад +2

      It is significantly easier to stabilize the smaller lenses and sensors in those cameras.
