Good luck searching for a quiet corner of a Greek island in the middle of high season. I have looked to see where there are flights today from Tel Aviv and I hope you are flying to Crete. There should be some undiscovered corners there. You deserve a good break, though, Gabe. We all appreciate the work you do, and the high quality of the videos you send our way with amazing frequency and regularity. Greece and India clearly have special places in your heart, much as Portugal, Morocco, France and India do for me. It's those places we visit when we are young, that mark our independence and that first amaze us that we stay lodged in our hearts.
Gosh Isreal looks so amazing I would want to see it all good and bad. It is only a small country. We hope to do a tour next year that will bring us to many places. The desert and Mazada! Hope it comes off because a decent tour is expensive. Enjoy the rest of your stay in Jerusalem!
Another great vid Gabriel, I spent a couple of days there back in about 2005 with my family, we rented a car from Eilat and drove up, was a long interesting drive, but well worth it, Jerusalem is a beautiful city.
The meal you ate in the beginning of the video is called Sabich (there is a wikipedia entry on it). Brought to Israel by Jews fleeing Iraq in '50s. It was their "comfort food" and contains really simple ingredients like potato, eggplant, eggs and fresh vegetables. Basically a complete balanced meal in a pita. The store had a cool play-on-words name: "Tasbich", which is literally is a psychological complex, which could be the reason people are driven to eat the stuff.
Hey Gabriel, i just came back from my holidays at Skala Eresos,Lesvos island and i think you will like that place for relaxing and video making. It has a really nice beach with super crystal clear waters and amazing sunset, lots of hiking trails and surreal volcanic environment. When driving around it felt like i was in arizona. There is a ship going to the nearby port of Sigri from Athens or Mykonos every Saturday if u r interested.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos Actually they do! haha... U reminded me of the clip "i am a spartan lesbian" of Angelo Tsarouchas. This place also happens to be a very popular lesbian destination like what mykonos is for gay men.
To be honest it’s a bit of a shame you are not staying an extra couple of days in Jerusalem there is so much to do and see , fascinating destination and since you were there already! But it is what it is and if you feel run down and need to chill out only you know what’s best for you! Look forward to see more on Jerusalem! Enjoy your Greek vacation you must be on your way right now… Sabrina 🇫🇷🇬🇧
I saw a report that Greece, the main land and all the islands have the highest ever recorded numbers of tourists this year. Looking forward to seeing which island you choose to go to in the high season 🇬🇷☀️🏖️☀️🇬🇷
I love this style of video. I enjoy seeing places as they truly are. You are the best travel vlogger as far as I am concerned. I feel like I am walking beside you.
Mykonos is outrage. I was in Kefalonia start of July and was planning a stay in Mykonos…. I think I had a heart attack when I checked for hotel rooms !
The greek islands beckoning you once again Gabriel...Trying the north part of the country is my suggestion. Always appreciate your experience & insightfullness. Keep roaming on this planet man...
Take a break gabe we love you man and your adventures. But plz come back 😫 your videos inspire me to keep traveling 🙏 love it 😀 thanks for all your videos and taking us with you.
Israelis also LOVE Greece , Israelis go there all the time to relax . You can see a lot of Israeli there haha . The price in Israel to relax is way high , so we go out of Israel and Greece is the best also a short flight
Enjoyable video. I especially enjoy the people watching. A lovely mix of secular and non secular people going about their day. Israeli women are some of the most beautiful in the world. I like to see women wearing skirts. You don't see that much in Los Angeles.
The video is of you walking along Jaffa Road until you arrived at Zion Square and turned into Ben Gurion Street where the video ended. In my day, there were no tram lines along Jaffa Road. Instead, there was heavy traffic along with buses. Jaffa Road eventually led to the Jaffa Gate of the Old City, where within is a totally different atmosphere. Two days in Jerusalem is definitely not enough!
@@abcxyz8787 Thank you for the correction. As I checked Google maps, I'm wondering whether Hotel Kaplan is the old Ron Hotel, where I stayed in 1976. How things had changed over the years!
@@WalkingPensioner You're welcome. Things have changed indeed. Sorry but I don't know about the hotels you mentioned. I wasn't sure where is Hotel Kaplan so I googled it and and I recognize the building but I don't know if it had a different name before.
@@abcxyz8787 Today, I have checked on Google Earth and Tripadvisor, and at last, I have identified the building. It's not the Kaplan Hotel but the Jerusalem Hostel - 44 Jaffa Street Zion Square. This was the Ron Hotel back in 1976, still was in 1993, and as late as the year 2000, my last visit to Israel, it was the Ron Hotel as late then. The change to its present hostel status must have been relatively recent.
I believe the $9 was for the belts rather than the sandals. I think the market you passed first was Mahane Yehuda (Jerusalem’s central market). You walked through Jerusalem’s main downtown intersection where Yaffa/Yafo Street crosses King George. FYI: They call it the Old City rather than the old town the walled city which I assume you were referring to.
Gabe, I'd say you're an unofficial citizen of Greece now! Just need to fill out some paperwork I suppose LoL. You have certainly given that country great internet exposure. Safe travels bro. Always looking forward to more adventures!

I don't think I got a stamp when I crossed the land border from Jordan the last time. I got the little card instead of a stamp both times I went to Israel, by land and by air. I talked about it in this video: ruclips.net/video/d2oSHi0BdA8/видео.html
The guy who asked if you're Jewish is probably from the Chabad Jewish community. They set up stands like that all around Israel to help Jews perform specific prayers/rituals. So it's not that the location is special but rather that it probably has a lot of traffic and also Jewish tourists. They mostly do outreach to more secular Jews to bring them closer to the religion. You can also find them in the US in cities like NY and LA.

Hi Gabriel, you sound like you're stressed out, which is understandable, especially with the highly inflated prices around the world. Of course, going to Greece is always relaxing but everywhere is so expensive.
There was a true story in the UK press a few weeks ago, 3 ladies sat down at one of the beachfront tavernas in Mykonos, ordered 3 main courses 3 cocktail and a bottle of wine. The bill came to 1350 euros!!
Hope to spot you gabe 😁 enjoy , Btw I don't know if you notice, but they move city upside down with massive construction, new light train trails, in every direction you look, lots have changed from your last video.. and as a Jerusalem native the old city is a bit overrated, one day tour with a guide is enough.. besides that ,there easily a whole week of travel and exploring in Jerusalem, the better interesting stories are not in the city center in my opinion.
You mentioned Azerbaijan in this video it's well worth going especially going up into mountains. Got to ask what was it like arriving at the Israeli border was it endless questions etc etc by the officials
I can see in the future Gabriel retiring on one of the Greek islands 🧐
On the way up to Jerusalem from Eilat you should have stopped at Masada. One of the most interesting places in the Country IMHO. Happy trails.
Massada is a must. Also Haifa. Bath in the Dead Sea. Old town and different quarters of Jerusalem.
