This collection was slammed and as always Donatella was critiqued for not being able to create new and innovative collections During this time Donatella was already considering rehab because of her addiction issues But ironically. I have to say this is probably one of the most fiercest catwalk fashion show of all time. All the models were just superb and beyond fierce. Talk about walk with an attitude. To me, I had to say that young Belarussian model Tanya Dziahileva who open the show and just a teenager commands so much attention. Her, Vlada and Carmen Kass were my favs, but the rest of the models were also awesome.
giocurve I don't personally find some of the most popular models of this show very naturally beautiful (Vlada, Sneja) but they have such fierceness and after proper styling could really work a runway! They did their jobs well which unfortunately isn't a requirement anymore...agencies now just check how many Instagram followers you have (for both female AND male models) 🙄

It’s 2023 and this show still brings up so much nostalgia for me. I use to watch this as a teen during 2008. I was 14 going into 15. Which is funny because many of those models during that time were around 16-17 and making loads.
For those who get it: This will be Versace's most iconic show!!! And there's great reason too... The outstanding assortment of colours, fabrics, designs, and silhouettes that just make the woman look beyond beautiful! Such a fantastic collection and fashion show to this day!

the casting here is truly A+ tbh. Most of these girls went on to become top models and they all have their own distinctive look and walk. I miss this 2005-2012 career era.

Glamour, elegance, sophistication to the highest...! I remember seeing this collection in the womenswear section of SaksFifthAvenue in 2008 and it sold within a few months, for very good reasons. For me this is the *Versace 2021 Spring/Summer* collection. Not what is being produced now, not what was produced in the past years. This will continue its legacy *EVERY YEAR*... beautiful clothing to make a woman look absolutely fabulous! These designs are true Italian classics and will last lifetimes!

This is the pinnacle in the evolution of the runway walk. This particular walk is the final outcome of a slow transition that started between 1994-96. Watching each season progress from the mid-90's is quite interesting. This perfectly balances showmanship, with contemporary aesthetics and style. In the spirit of objectivity, we can't over-romanticize the past, but it's safe to say this is a far superior walk to today's. In 2016, designers prefer introversion, bordering on awkward walks, devoid of personality. However, there's been a recent crop of shows that are allowing models to be more expressive. Hopefully it catches on.
OMG so many great moments in this show but the one I keep rewinding over is Mariacarla at 10:28 she owns the world in that white dress even the music seems to be announcing her arrival as she takes command of your attention!! One of my favorite shows.

The new Millenium models almost all of that era were cast for this show AMAZING! When the models were just models and not desperate to have millions of fans or being in the public eye all the time they were unreachable in a certain way.
My observations, favourite moments, likes and dislikes of the Versace S/S 2008 show: Fav moments: 1. Carmen Kass coming out at 2:09 with her strong, masculine, emotionless yet sultry face 2. That overhead shot of Raquel Zimmermann strutting down the runway like a tall horse/giraffe hybrid at 2:20 3. Bruna Tenorio's doe eyes at 2:50 4. Magdalena Frackowiak's extremely slow-mo, giraffe-like walk at 3:27 5. Viviane Orth's powerful strides and sideways head bob at 3:58 6. Natasha Poly's emergence at 4:36 when "Bamboo Banga" mashes with "Yeah Yeah", making it sound like a Bollywood bhangra track and making Natasha's walk more powerful. The close-up of Natasha's swaying hips at 4:41 is phenomenal, her bobbing hair is amazing; her thigh gap from 4:44 onwards is even more incredible. Her shorts accentuate her thigh gap, she has a gap throughout her walk. Take that, jealous fat acceptance bitches. Natasha also walks in a perfectly straight line from 4:44, she does not veer off course. 7. Coco Rocha walking like a drunken underaged schoolgirl at 4:57 with short stumpy strides, it's not very modelesque but it suits her for some reason. Love the bitchy face 8. Olga Sherer walking to the right of the runway at 6:15 to reveal Mariacarla Boscono strutting powerfully out of the dark in her green dress. What a transition! Mariacarla's walk here is *epic* and is extremely powerful - it is perfectly in sync with "Yeah Yeah", her strides move quickly with each beat. Mariacarla's closeup at 6:20 - doe brown eyes, bobbing brown hair, heart shaped face - her face is just perfect. I love the way she turns back at 6:25 by walking across the width of the runway with eyes to the cameras, back arched, instead of just swivelling around her heels like the rest of the models (You will notice Natasha did the same thing at 10:00). Mariacarla's confidence is unparalleled, she and Natasha Poly are the top two in this show for the confidence they exude. 9. Coco Rocha walking like a drunken hoe again at 8:47, love it 10. Sasha Pivovarova looking completely drugged up on cocaine at 9:00 11. Mariacarla Boscono emerging in that flowy white dress at 10:27, so ethereal 12. Raquel Zimmermann strutting down like a damn giraffe again at 11:38 13. That overhead shot of Caroline Trentini at 12:05... what a walk! And the way she turns at 12:13 arching her back! 14. Carmen Kass' bronzed goddess look at 13:00 in that flowy yellow dress - her relatively masculine facial features contrast with the way the dress accentuates her bosom. I love how Carmen walks really fast and blinks her eyes while she does Likes: - The LCD screens under the glass runway and the way they sync with the colour/theme of the dresses - The dark lighting that makes the audience invisible, drawing attention to the models and the clothes Dislikes: - Absolutely none, not even a single model of colour. I don't care what the white gays have to say, this is unacceptable in the 21st century. When this show took place in late 2007, there were many black models at the top of their game (Naomi Campbell walked for Roberto Cavalli that year). Naomi Campbell, Alek Wek, Oluchi Onweagba and Liya Kebede in this show would have been amazing - all tall, leggy beauties.
Alek Wek is so not Versace and Naomi might've been a bit too much for this show, she always takes too much protagonism because she's a supermodel. Oluchi and Liya would've been great, especially Liya.
I don't think that Carmen's face is emotionless, she has a sweet kinda mom face lol, and i totally agree with the need of black models but Naomi was probably too bussy, Oluchi was already out, Liya was not so on demand and Alek as someone already said wasn't too Versace and was probably too on demand, she is still very successful to this day and someone you didn't mention was Yasmin Warsame who was/is also big, she's a doll but her walk is awful. Of course this needed black models but not those.
Kaia is unique which makes her stand out today in the runway, but it's so wrong to compare her to Tanya. I mean Tanya is born to walk and she exudes so much class and grace with her every stomp plus she looks like she's born straight up to model High fashion catwalks in New York, London, Paris and Milan.

The summer of 2008 I turned 21 this was my inspiration for EVERY look; I even had the soundtrack on my mp3 player too! Life felt so full of vitality and excitement and hope. I am 37 now and still watch this from time to time to make me think back to those times. ✨ I feel so happy this show formed such a vibrant part of my youth.
Natasha's hair at 4:43, Raquel's walk and legs at 11:45 and last but not least Vlada's back at 12:43 OH MY GOD ! I am melting this is by far the best Versace show ever ! Fernnforest she quit modelling in 2011 or 2012 and became a photographer but I saw her on Hussein Chalayan Fall/Winter 2014/15

It’s 2023 and this show still brings up so much nostalgia for me. I use to watch this as a teen during 2008. I was 14 going into 15. Which is funny because many of those models during that time were around 16-17 and making loads.
For those who get it: This will be Versace's most iconic show!!! And there's great reason too... The outstanding assortment of colours, fabrics, designs, and silhouettes that just make the woman look beyond beautiful! Such a fantastic collection and fashion show to this day!

This is the pinnacle in the evolution of the runway walk. This particular walk is the final outcome of a slow transition that started between 1994-96. Watching each season progress from the mid-90's is quite interesting. This perfectly balances showmanship, with contemporary aesthetics and style. In the spirit of objectivity, we can't over-romanticize the past, but it's safe to say this is a far superior walk to today's. In 2016, designers prefer introversion, bordering on awkward walks, devoid of personality. However, there's been a recent crop of shows that are allowing models to be more expressive. Hopefully it catches on.

Fav moments:
1. Carmen Kass coming out at 2:09 with her strong, masculine, emotionless yet sultry face
2. That overhead shot of Raquel Zimmermann strutting down the runway like a tall horse/giraffe hybrid at 2:20
3. Bruna Tenorio's doe eyes at 2:50
4. Magdalena Frackowiak's extremely slow-mo, giraffe-like walk at 3:27
5. Viviane Orth's powerful strides and sideways head bob at 3:58
6. Natasha Poly's emergence at 4:36 when "Bamboo Banga" mashes with "Yeah Yeah", making it sound like a Bollywood bhangra track and making Natasha's walk more powerful. The close-up of Natasha's swaying hips at 4:41 is phenomenal, her bobbing hair is amazing; her thigh gap from 4:44 onwards is even more incredible. Her shorts accentuate her thigh gap, she has a gap throughout her walk. Take that, jealous fat acceptance bitches. Natasha also walks in a perfectly straight line from 4:44, she does not veer off course.
7. Coco Rocha walking like a drunken underaged schoolgirl at 4:57 with short stumpy strides, it's not very modelesque but it suits her for some reason. Love the bitchy face
8. Olga Sherer walking to the right of the runway at 6:15 to reveal Mariacarla Boscono strutting powerfully out of the dark in her green dress. What a transition! Mariacarla's walk here is *epic* and is extremely powerful - it is perfectly in sync with "Yeah Yeah", her strides move quickly with each beat. Mariacarla's closeup at 6:20 - doe brown eyes, bobbing brown hair, heart shaped face - her face is just perfect. I love the way she turns back at 6:25 by walking across the width of the runway with eyes to the cameras, back arched, instead of just swivelling around her heels like the rest of the models (You will notice Natasha did the same thing at 10:00). Mariacarla's confidence is unparalleled, she and Natasha Poly are the top two in this show for the confidence they exude.
9. Coco Rocha walking like a drunken hoe again at 8:47, love it
10. Sasha Pivovarova looking completely drugged up on cocaine at 9:00
11. Mariacarla Boscono emerging in that flowy white dress at 10:27, so ethereal
12. Raquel Zimmermann strutting down like a damn giraffe again at 11:38
13. That overhead shot of Caroline Trentini at 12:05... what a walk! And the way she turns at 12:13 arching her back!
14. Carmen Kass' bronzed goddess look at 13:00 in that flowy yellow dress - her relatively masculine facial features contrast with the way the dress accentuates her bosom. I love how Carmen walks really fast and blinks her eyes while she does
Likes:
- The LCD screens under the glass runway and the way they sync with the colour/theme of the dresses
- The dark lighting that makes the audience invisible, drawing attention to the models and the clothes
Dislikes:
- Absolutely none, not even a single model of colour. I don't care what the white gays have to say, this is unacceptable in the 21st century. When this show took place in late 2007, there were many black models at the top of their game (Naomi Campbell walked for Roberto Cavalli that year). Naomi Campbell, Alek Wek, Oluchi Onweagba and Liya Kebede in this show would have been amazing - all tall, leggy beauties.
Alek Wek is so not Versace and Naomi might've been a bit too much for this show, she always takes too much protagonism because she's a supermodel. Oluchi and Liya would've been great, especially Liya.
I don't think that Carmen's face is emotionless, she has a sweet kinda mom face lol, and i totally agree with the need of black models but Naomi was probably too bussy, Oluchi was already out, Liya was not so on demand and Alek as someone already said wasn't too Versace and was probably too on demand, she is still very successful to this day and someone you didn't mention was Yasmin Warsame who was/is also big, she's a doll but her walk is awful. Of course this needed black models but not those.

I am 37 now and still watch this from time to time to make me think back to those times. ✨ I feel so happy this show formed such a vibrant part of my youth.
Natasha's hair at 4:43, Raquel's walk and legs at 11:45 and last but not least Vlada's back at 12:43 OH MY GOD ! I am melting this is by far the best Versace show ever ! Energy, casting, clothing, music, rhythm, everything is pure perfection I Loved it.
