I love Shalom as a model but there’s nothing revolutionary about having a brunette on the cover. Brunette Christy Turlington had 51 Vogue covers prior to ‘96. Linda Evangelista was brunette in her first 17 covers by Bill King, Eric Roman, Patrick Demarchelier, Irving Penn, and Steven Meisel - all before 1991. And Gia Carengi had been on the cover of Vogue five times since the late 70s. Beverly Johnson who is both brunette and a black woman graced the cover of Vogue in 1974! Naomi Campbell was on the cover 25 times by the end of 1995, and that’s without mentioning Iman, Gail O’ Neil, or Donyale Luna who appeared on the cover of Vogue in 1966. Just saying. I don’t think this interview does much to make Shalom very likeable. She’s clearly got some narratives about her role in the industry going on and she seems a little snobby here. Sorry.

...she read the insta-girls for filth with the chicest resume and sweetest smile. i live.
She and Amber & Kate OWNED the 90s! "Nuff said
she is amazing, her looks, her voice, her presence
Lol she just shaded instamodels and I am here for it!!!
Oh I would really love to see Yasmeen Ghauri featured. She was literally a supermodel back at her time, she had herself a lot of iconic runway moments. She retired modeling young.
Sorry.
Sorry but not sorry (I mean I feel same as you- I actually made similar comment). All these pettiness- firing stylist, being brunet on cover, model as a muse, supermodels etc.
I totally agree. Somehow she thinks she revolutionized the industry by being brunette in a vogue's cover or by lifting her arms while walking or by wearing Jacobs in the 90s .... Like... come down girl... you were just one more who were below the top 5 Super models of the 90s.
@@nv2605 I’m really disappointed in her. I’m not even sure how Amber, who seems very grounded, can have a relationship with her if she’s like this all the time.
@@nv2605 Saying she got someone fired with a smirk says so much about her values. I don't doubt that the stylist was not up to par, and helping to improve the look of the film is an accomplishment, but it seemed less about her contribution and more about her power to get rid of someone she considered less than. Too bad.
@@llumdivine exactly. She seems deluded and self-involved. I’m really turned off to her, and before I watched this she was among my favourites.
She is very musical and the way she always talks about the music in special runways/campaigns is quite interesting
I'm 3 months younger than Shalom, so I was very much into the 1990s Supermodels, and she's one of my top 5 favourites. ❤️ Wow, she looks as beautiful as ever.
Hi friend kartini
Wow she really loves herself.
I thought we were all for that? Or is it only for certain people?
As everyone should do
If you have spent a decade, using up your life savings to try and heal and get your life back, one tends to love oneself even more than ever.
Shalom is a class act. Her runway walk was one of the best !!! Love her 🎉❤😊
This is the best one of these. Shalom is so generous with sharing her memories and the details of her experience. Also, her voice is so soothing.
Can’t believe the ‘99 McQueen moment wasn’t rehearsed 😮
Such a beautiful, free spirited, intellectual, artistic soul. An iconic supermodel of noughties and our current times. 🧜♀️🧚♀️listening to Shalom, still as inspiring as ever!
The talent and beauty is undeniable, but do you ever hear someone talk and look in their eyes and get the vibe that they aren’t nice to service workers?
She is so articulate. Hearing/watching her speak is relaxing.
i love how elegantly expressive she naturally is
Hi Anna
8:30 ''Just being able to point an iPhone and take a selfie doesn't make you a supermodel, sorry not sorry'' She so ICONIC
its not like being a model is an actual different job though. all they have to do is be obsessed with themselves and they're set
Knowing she's 49 yet still looks her best - ultimate goals! 💕
"We were the antagonists as usual because we were beautiful." I LOVEEEEEEE THISSSSSSSSSS!!!!!
The level of confidence we all aspire. My favorite model, Shalom. ICON!
she is very into herself.
👆🏾👆🏾 SEASON GREETINGS (2023) 💥💥

Message me with the name above 👆👆 to acknowledge your prize 💰!!!!!!
Definitely.. it's very cringeworthy
She was literally asked to talk about herself lmfao
her voice and the way she speaks. oh i can hear her for hours
I really liked that explanation of what modelling is at 8:13.
And I can certainly see it when she passed the camera at 11:29. Instinct inhabiting design.
Intelligent, verbose, incredibly charismatic, and physically beautiful to boot. And a survivor.
. She seems quite open and honest. She speaks facts pointing a iPhone and taking selfies doesnt make you a supermodel.
She really hasn’t changed much at all since the 90s. She looks incredible😆
She is incredibly intelligent, interesting and cool. A really interesting episode and you can tell why she became so successful.
She exudes so much class and a certain sense of charisma - a true beauty without a shadow of any doubt... Fine Wine !!!🍷
I loved her in In & Out ~ The Model who doesn't know how to use a Rotary Phone ~ She understands comedic timing so Fabulously
She is so sassy and she knows she is fascinating. I love it
I was hoping she talked about her Dior Haute Couture Spring 2007 look. That origami dress was ICONIC.
This made my day brighter !!! So sad Stella tenant won’t be able to do one of those . We need all of them ! Christy, Elle, Yasmine,Estelle and the Queen Karen !!!!!
