- Kyle Anderson is ranked #2 in the country by Rivals, but Kevin Durant sees it differently, he recently dubbed Anderson the best player in the country in the class of 2012. It's easy to see why the 6'8 point guard from New Jersey gets such high praise. Nicknamed "Slow-Mo", Anderson isn't the most athletic player on the court in most cases but his basketball IQ and advanced skill set keep him a notch above the competition. Kyle recently committed to play college ball at UCLA.
There's a difference between being slow and playing at a steady pace
Yet he's being slow
Yup
Nickname is literally slo-mo
very crafty and plays at an almost exclusive half court pace. limits his fast break potential but if u watched him at ucla his half court offense is ridiculous. he's 6'9 PG when u have that much size at the PG position ur game doesn't need to be predicated on quickness and speed as much more body position and space, which he's become an expert at ucla with a pass-first mentality. some of u don't know shit about bball.
it looks like hes going in slow mo
just shows how good he is if he can still break peoples ankles
It’s crazy that you’re 8 years older than when you made that comment. a lot can change in 8 years
He's not slow. He just makes his defenders fall asleep on defense with his crossovers
He’s so slow 😭
this is one of my favorite mixes. The music makes it
you can tell he played against older competition his whole life. Sees the game like a vet. Hope he's eligible, very excited to watch UCLA this season.
Don't let that slowness fool you. He is deceptive. He is long with great handles for his size. He can really pass the ball and finish with both hands. He may not be jumping out of the gym and flying all over the court but his floor game is polished. Very smooth and under control.
I try to put it at the end of every video, but sometimes I forget. This beat is called Kingdom of Hearts by Anno Domini.
kind of reminds me of paul pierce the way he takes him time with his shots
Who else is here to verify that his jumper hasn’t always looked like it do now?
it's not necessarily slow, but under control. Too many guards these days are too quick to get the ball up court and doing some in between the legs crossover going at 100mph, this guy examines the floor before making his move, Good player
A slow pace game, but he's precise with what he wants to do. Nothing flashy or out of control. Very composed player
Kinda reminds me of Magic by height and position and the way he dishes the ball .. The slow movement also
He's smooth as hell son.
As a person who has avidly watched high school basketball prospects since 1996 I can surely say this guy is a high risk potential. He is basically a Shaun Livingston version who is 6,7 skinny and who can only pass the ball. He does seem to have good basketball IQ for his age but players over time can learn the game. Unless this guy bulks up and works on his speed and agility there is no way he can succeed to the NBA against players his size with high basketball IQ. I am yet to be convinced.
he does have a pretty good career after all
he plays with great control which unusual for a young player
What an emotional beat... good player btw
It's a pleasure to watch guys like this play. They don't come around too often
SG version of Kevin Durant, powerful but smooth as silk.
Look how far my boy came 🔥
"Kevin Durant's #1 player in 2012" so unless KD released player rankings I think he's still Kevin Durant's top player in the class...
i see why he's nicknamed slow-mo. dude is slow but he's got good ball handling and a nice shooting form.
That moment you realize it was Marcus Paige he made fall.
welcome to spurs nation kyle!!! we're so glad to have you :)
raj kinra no were not
hes 6'9 hes a power forward yet he can do all that? very impressive! his slow but quick minds is not an accident. he does that to get the defender relaxed then all of a sudden he blows right past them! great talent!
6'8" point guard. now i know why kevin durant likes him
i like everything i saw except the slow pace.. and i liike to see a dunk every now and then at his height
silky smooth jumper. hope he continues to improve, would look good in a 76ers uniform :D
he makes it seem soo easy by the way he's moving...so effortless
Ya'll keep calling him slow? This dude got a nice, smooth game. He controls the Game when the rock is in his Hands.
Slow Mo is now his nick name
He's very gracious and deliberate.
I honestly have no idea how he gets by defenders and crosses people up so much considering he plays 5 miles n hour but it obviously works and dont fix wat isnt broken
That no look at 1:51 was sick
I really liked the one just before that one at 1:48
6.8 point guard ? That's the new generation... can't wait for the 9 foot center !!
It annoys me how slow he plays, but he is a GREAT player.
This guy just has that effortless baller swag.
Love his game...it's like watching someone play in slow motion
One of the sickest mixtapes I've seen
players now a days just want to dunk, and focus way to much on the athletic side of the game. it's refreshing seeing a player who succeeding off his fundamentals of the game. if kevin durant thinks he is the best player in the country, he must be pretty damn good. good luck at ucla boi. much respect
He plays gracefully and with a purpose and for all of u who says he's slow, I'm pretty sure he's fast but doesn't need to run all out to do the samething as people who do
Man his shooting mechanics got fucked up at the Spurs
was thinking the same look like he tryna shoot free throws when shooting a 3
Live in Jersey City, NJ. where he goes to school and ball right up the block from St. Anthony's, but i rarely ever see him.
I love this kids game.
when ur that good u can play any position. When he gets to the NBA, he will settle into a spot. The fact that he runs point is just to show scouts his versatility.
He learned quickly to own the ball. Own it. Control the game etc. If he had westbrook explosivness and kd shooting abbility - tmac and kobe would be afraid
such a calm swagged out player
he just like walks into the lane, yet he still messin dudes up! crazy
Pass at 1:48 is SICK.
Kid's a player. Most productive player in 2012 for sure.
Slow style of play but plays in a controlled manner. No wasted energy is his steps, just simply plays to his own beat. Catches defenders off guard. If Kyle plays good in his College Career and it translates to the NBA, could this mean the PG Position has evolved again? We now have breeds of scoring point guards, can we say a new breed of "Bigs" running point?!
Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.
There's something to be said for a player who is always in complete control of himself and sees the game like he does
I agree with everything you said. He definitely is not fast or overly athletic for a top recruit, but he makes up for it in every other facet of the game.
His game is slow but he gets where he wants to go with ease, no wasted motion.
No way!!! Shaun Livingston was super athletic coming into the league then just blew out his knees. Kyle Anderson is like no one else in the league right now, or even in college basketball.
At first I thought the video was in Slow-mo... But the kid can ball for sure
Fav high school player
Who cares how slow he is, his handles are great, his basketball iq is great, his ability to shoot is great, and his ability to get the basket is great
Hasnt even played his senior year yet and has a High School National Championship, had TWO different high schools ranked in the top 5 nationally, Mulitiple AAU National Championships, and demolished the AAU circuit this summer, when you go for a job, they always ask "let me see your RESUME! "
unbelievable hes 6'8" and a pg-sf at my high school our center is 6'5" wtf
He may be slow but boy is he good. Can't wait to see him in UCLA and the NBA
6'8 point guard..... FROM NEW JERSEY something you will never see again
This was the number 1 recruit in 2012? WTF
He was like top 5 but he deserved nigga was a dawg
Well judging by all the comments in here. He has enough haters to fuel his whole career. Did you guys ever think you would be that guy to say "he can't, he won't, he's to slow, it won't work, and stuff like that? Your that dude now.
Off the charts bb IQ, but makes Jimmer Fredette look like Russell Westbrook explosiveness wise
6'8'' with handles and a shot... yeah, he's beast
on the last play they had a smooth ass team lol, gabe york, kyle anderson, robert upshaw.
the music fits him perfect
Don't Know what you guys are looking at but Kyle isn't slow. If you haven't played basketball, I don't think you can get crossed over and fall down by a slow person or maybe its Just me. And he's got a complete game, WHAT A PLAYER! (:
He cant be stopped in slow motion! how is it goin to be like when he gets faster ? Oo
I played against him .. he is deceptively quick and can read how defenses play him so whether you go for the cross or not he's always ready to counter your defensive maneuver which makes him "quick" but he's not a hyper athlete and is more of a big 2 or perfect 3 guard
Yet Another great Jersey product.
This kid looks promising!
a type of player that can last to 25 years in Nba
Welcome to warriors from the bay kyle ..🎉🥳💪🏆☝️🙏💯lets go 👏👏
He played in Solon against the comets a few years ago..... I think I saw him, but we won :)
the yung paul pierce..so smooth
Good jumper in highschool is always a good sign
Its all about BALL SPEED....Nothing is harder than guarding someone that can move the ball at a much faster tempo than they SEEM to be playing....Their moves with the ball are faster than you would expect.....I.E Paul Pierce......This dude is a 6'8 PG. He can be your PG, but gaurd SFs. If Allen Iverson had a guy like this he might have a ring..Unique!!!
hes slow but hes so smooth that no one can guard him. its wild
How does he break defenders so well??
he covers so much ground with his length
he's not slow he's smooth
That pass after the jumpshot fake was real nice.
at :35 that kid tried to block the ball with his head haha
Nah bro his jump shot in high school better than it’s now 💀💀
@caloisimus the "hype" is that he is that slow but still ultra effective. Other players say that since he knows how to move his body in space and get to a spot, he is tough to defend. Yes, someone like Kiwi Gardner would probably use his immense speed to poke the ball, but he'd have a tough time since Anderson can shield and use his body the correct way to render speed useless.
reminds me of that one guys who played on the pacers a long time ago.
I love that beat!
His shooting form looks much better compare to now, he should try to switch it back again
dunking and dominating are not the same.
this beat is dope
FASTEST GUY I'VE EVER SEEN IN MY WHOLE LIFE... april fools
tyreke's dribble, paul pierce's silent assassin, livingston's length.
that kid gets UP at 0:35!
Welcome to UCLA! Go Bruins!
ya bro yours was so exciting....where are you playing in college again??
For everyone saying he's slow, obviously somethings working for him if KD says he's #1 and ucla wants him.....
Dis dude so gud he makes everyone around him move slow #REBIRTHOFMAGIC?
kna son check his signature move is similar to tyreke's. its the off-your-balance dribbling style.
Kyle Anderson reminds me of Paul Pierce in his speed and Evan Turner in everything else. He's only going to get better especially at UCLA. The last 5 years they've produced K. Love who shut his haters up, Westbrook another one, Jarmar and to go back more Trevor Ariza. He'll be a great role player once he in the NBA. Also depend how many years he stays in school also
