Kyle Anderson Highlights - Kevin Durant's #1 Player in Class of 2012 - Future UCLA Bruin

  • Kyle Anderson is ranked #2 in the country by Rivals, but Kevin Durant sees it differently, he recently dubbed Anderson the best player in the country in the class of 2012. It's easy to see why the 6'8 point guard from New Jersey gets such high praise. Nicknamed "Slow-Mo", Anderson isn't the most athletic player on the court in most cases but his basketball IQ and advanced skill set keep him a notch above the competition. Kyle recently committed to play college ball at UCLA.

    There's a difference between being slow and playing at a steady pace

  • @juwelzbluntz
    @juwelzbluntz 10 лет назад +31

    very crafty and plays at an almost exclusive half court pace. limits his fast break potential but if u watched him at ucla his half court offense is ridiculous. he's 6'9 PG when u have that much size at the PG position ur game doesn't need to be predicated on quickness and speed as much more body position and space, which he's become an expert at ucla with a pass-first mentality. some of u don't know shit about bball.

    Don't let that slowness fool you. He is deceptive. He is long with great handles for his size. He can really pass the ball and finish with both hands. He may not be jumping out of the gym and flying all over the court but his floor game is polished. Very smooth and under control.

    it's not necessarily slow, but under control. Too many guards these days are too quick to get the ball up court and doing some in between the legs crossover going at 100mph, this guy examines the floor before making his move, Good player

    As a person who has avidly watched high school basketball prospects since 1996 I can surely say this guy is a high risk potential. He is basically a Shaun Livingston version who is 6,7 skinny and who can only pass the ball. He does seem to have good basketball IQ for his age but players over time can learn the game. Unless this guy bulks up and works on his speed and agility there is no way he can succeed to the NBA against players his size with high basketball IQ. I am yet to be convinced.

    Slow style of play but plays in a controlled manner. No wasted energy is his steps, just simply plays to his own beat. Catches defenders off guard. If Kyle plays good in his College Career and it translates to the NBA, could this mean the PG Position has evolved again? We now have breeds of scoring point guards, can we say a new breed of "Bigs" running point?!

    I played against him .. he is deceptively quick and can read how defenses play him so whether you go for the cross or not he's always ready to counter your defensive maneuver which makes him "quick" but he's not a hyper athlete and is more of a big 2 or perfect 3 guard

    @caloisimus the "hype" is that he is that slow but still ultra effective. Other players say that since he knows how to move his body in space and get to a spot, he is tough to defend. Yes, someone like Kiwi Gardner would probably use his immense speed to poke the ball, but he'd have a tough time since Anderson can shield and use his body the correct way to render speed useless.

    Kyle Anderson reminds me of Paul Pierce in his speed and Evan Turner in everything else.He's only going to get better especially at UCLA. The last 5 years they've produced K. Love who shut his haters up, Westbrook another one, Jarmar and to go back more Trevor Ariza. He'll be a great role player once he in the NBA. Also depend how many years he stays in school also
