I always launch mine holding right at the back with thumb on top (between the elevons) and fingers underneath. The power-to-weight ratio is more than enough to simply pull it out of your hand without fear of stalling. Just point it up at 45 degrees and give it a gentle push! Don't worry about downthrust on the engine... keep it 0 degrees. Remember, if you intend to fly combat with this thing you will ever be flying "straight and level" so don't bother trying to trim it out for anyting other than dead straight at full throttle. Also, once you tie a streamer on that thing it will fly a lot smoother. Here's something to try. All my King Kombat wings would do a flat climbing spin once set up dead right. Use full up elevator and full aileron at full throttle and once you get the hang of it, they'll go into a flat spin but, instead of descending, they'll actually climb. It's really fun and I've not seen any other model that will do this. After building many, many of these wings I finally went down to half the wing thickness and used an OS 45FSR with tuned pipe. Now *that* was fun (and so fast). I can't remember if I posted a link to some of my old combat-wing footage but you can find it on YT by searching "RC combat with nitro-powered foam wings at Tokoroa" If you're ever passing drop in and we'll shred some streamers! 😀
Thanks for the comment and info, really appreciated, great to hear your passion for these wings, I will try the launch like you suggest and also will have to look up your videos, thanks again 😀
Hahahaha, funny thing is a friend has just built on, but not sure my flying is up to combat! Think I would manage to destroy my own wing quicker the he would! Thanks for the comment it's appreciated 😀
Just retired getting three stunt 35 going had some in 70 now have 40 yr A 50 yr 🦊 I found you polish that machine marks on crank on counter weight it balance it half the vibration
@@MarkRobinson555 If you do decide to build one. One tip I have is watch where the on/off goes. You toss the plane from the top and one to many times I seen the plane take of in a loop because the switch was turned off on take off.
What a machine! Definitely not for a novice flyer (like me). Great build series. Thanks, Mark.
😂👍👍👍👍
Great build, Mark.
I am just finishing up my Ugly Stik build. Thank you so much for these vids. They are such a great help.
Excellent, pleased they help, really appreciate the comment 😀
Hiya, Mark.
I don't recall having seen this video.
All I can say is, "Yee haw! Ride 'em cowboy!" 🤠
Maidens with these wings are always a wild ride, until you get the trim sorted! hahahah
That second flight looked like a real handful well done for getting her down .
Thanks Mark, gets the heart pumping!
@@MarkRobinson555 Ive had one plane fly like that the Buffalo that you hand launched for me very pitch sensitive
Complimenti l'esperienza del volo fa la differenza , grande video e bravo pilota

Nice one 👍 will definitely build one for myself 🙃
Excellent, you won't be disappointed, they are great fun and easy to build 😀
After a bit of trimming she flew great. Nice one Mark.
Thanks Terry, yes flies beautifully now, but that maiden certainly got the heart racing a little, all good fun, thanks for the comment 😀
Nice one Mark. I think you may have made me decide on my winter build. Thanks again and keep up the good work.
Hi Brian, thanks very much for the comment, great winter build, you won't be disappointed 😀
Jolly good Mark, now you need a buddy to build one, tie some steamers on and combat!

@@MarkRobinson555 It is so much fun, flying combat. It is much harder then it would seem to hit another airplane, or streamer, when you are trying to!
Hi!
I’m starting to build the King Combat to day, thanks for the build videos👍👍 what is your recommended throws for the elevons?

You are going to have to build a Gremlin combat plane. You will have a blast.
Hahaha, I have seen the plans, great suggestion
