Dang, funny I came across this comment. After watching this video I was actually considering an Ingo and Emmet cosplay (never done cosplay before but wanted to try) interesting how that lined up
It's ironic, because Emmet and Ingo are hands down some of my favorite side characters of any main series Pokemon game. I totally get your point, though, because they are pretty hard to remember even if you've played the game, seen the manga, AND watched the anime all at once. They're sort of just. . . there. The manga makes them funny, but they only appear for a couple chapters; the game gives them at least SOME dialogue, but their personalities are heavily overshadowed; and the anime doesn't even get their personalities correct at all, which is sad. They're just kinda there as funny twin characters, and I guess if there's anything I can think of to look forward to IF we actually were forced a Gen 5 remake onto, it would at least be to see these two guys make a better appearance like they deserve to have.

I promise to return it to you.” But when you go back to visit him after about 5 days. He’s gone, and all is left is a pokeball containing your Pokémon. Thus you can infer. He was dying
HoshiAndy actually that was in diamond/preal/ platinum and people think he committed sucidie because you find a rope on the balcony that wasn't their before.
shadowwizard 23 No, it's in Pokemon X and Y. The old man lives in a house in Anistar City. Check Bulbapedia if you don't believe me. The man talks about missing his wife and asks if he could borrow a Pokemon level 5 or under to keep him company. When you come back after becoming Champion, there's a note explaining that the man has died, but your Pokemon kept him company. The Pokemon will be at full Affection. There is a theory that the old man committed suicide because of the Escape Rope, but someone brought up a good point. They pointed out that the rope was hidden away, as if the man was considering suicide, but changed his mind. I prefer the theory that lending him a Pokemon prevented his suicide and filled his final days with happiness. Again, if you don't believe me, then look it up.
HoshiAndy I know what you mean. I think it's a moving plot development. I started a playthrough of Pokemon Y and I've reserved a Bunnelby to lend to the Old Man.
In ORAS I did do contests for a bit. I even beat the master class with a few pokemon. In fact, the contests are the main reason I love Milotic and Altaria. Mimi the Milotic was the pokemon I beat master class for the first time. I think I even beat out Lisia with Mimi. Alti the Altaria got me another master class win. Yes I probably wasn’t very creative with the nicknames, but I still love them. That’s the main reason I love Milotic and Altaria so much.
Yeah, it really doesn't make sense why that's the way Lucarionite is obtained in Oras. Lucario just doesn't seem like a Pokemon people would associate with contests. It would've made a lot more sense if, instead of having a random person give you the Altarianite for showing them an Altaria, the Altarianite should've been the master rank contest prize given to you by Lisia.
Honestly Lisia and Chaz compete in the Rival departament than most recent Rivals. Lisia can tough if you never face against her in Smart/Clever Contest and both Lisia and Chaz have decent backstory shown during entire region and good connection with their signature Pokemon. Sure Lisia is the Mentor Rival that is the best that comes to Contest type and Chaz the I am in love with Lisia and you are my rival but she likes spending time with you type. But Chaz has interesting character development with his female machoke where he doesnt want to raise her tough appeal because he rather raise her cute appeal but after player becomes the Contest Idol, he decides if he going to be Lisia's rival, he needs to compete against Lisia in all field. And both Lisia and Chaz decide to consider to battle with their Pokemon to bring that experience to their performances since Player beaten both.
Cheryl also appears in the anime, not just Generations. Mira too and another stat trainer you didn't mention, Marley. Ingo and Emmett also appeared in several episodes of the Unova seasons. Maybe that's why I remember all of these more clearly. Celio, Ashley, etc, are more forgettable because they don't even have an artwork.
The one thing about Ingo and Emmet is that in B2/W2 when you approch the Battle Subway building for the first time, where in B/W you'd be approched by a random ace trainer and ultimately given the VS Recorder, I believe in B2/W2 when go there you are approached by the other player character of the game being either Nate or Rosa who is followed out by Ingo and Emmet, you are then asked into a double battle with either Nate or Rosa against Ingo and Emmet, after which you get the VS Recorder. Side note, Nate or Rosa also have the starter pokemon that neither you nor you rival chose at the start of the game.
I know a lot about pokemon, but its mostly limited to diamond and pearl beyond. I didn't really play through diamond and pearl too much, but I found the battle subway, and I completed the contests for the altarianite. So I only knew those two. Interesting to know more about forgettable parts of the older games though. Nice job. :)
How could you forget Ingo and Emmet? They’re basically the “Frontier Brains” of Gen 5. The Battle Chatelaines on the other hand they just kind of blend together and despite their crazy designs are pretty forgettable.
What about executive Proton? He's involved with team rocket, and my dude has never showed up in any other games or in pkmn generations. I'm still waiting for it.
Actually with Ingo and Emmet, you are forced to do a double battle with them in Black 2 and White 2, and there is no way to avoid it so they aren't actually that obscure. Also, you do realize that Ketch Appy has nothing to Do with Ash Ketchum and is actually just a clever way to talk about the PoKetch App(y).
I remembered Ingo and Emmet because one, cool designs, two, someone I knew used to RP as them all the time. Remember Mira because I played through Wayward Cave fairly recently, remember Chaz though dunno quite how.
@@jakubsvacek3413 In the cave where you catch Gible. I think it's in the route north of the first gym city. The cave entrance is hidden in the back of the route underneath a bridge
Awesome Video dude, but in my opinion, a lot of people seem to have forgotten Juan from Pokemon Emerald. Mainly because he replaces Wallace as the 8th Gym leader and many people prefered Wallace to Juan. He's one of my favorite gym leaders to this day, but he only made 2 in game appearances (Emerald and Black and White 2) and he was only seen in the anime once and never again. He was rather forgettable I agree, but he was one of the characters I believe was interesting and had a unique design.
I've been playing Black 2 again and I almost screamed when I saw Curtis show up on the Xtransceiver... like i completley forgot about Curtis and Yancy.
I'm pretty sure there was a scene with Emmet and Ingo infront of the train station while doing something for Elisa (I think that's the electric type gym leader's name for gen5)
Dude, you pretty much HAVE to fight Ingo/Emmet in Black2/White2 to progress the story. And since you talked about Stadium 2, Cal also appears in Stadium 2 as the CPU opponent in Free Battles. I miss Dream World...
Riley in DDP ALSO has the distinct honor of being how you get the egg for Riolu, in order to get Lucario, which makes him the absolute most memorable out of all of those NPCs with that function in those games. I don't even remember Cheryl myself, or any of the others of the group. But I always remember Riley, even if only just because of his association with Sir Aaron from Lucario and the Mystery of Mew, and because he's the way to get Lucario in those games.
Gideon has a unique name just like every other trainer in the entirety of FRLG. Gideon is forgetable because he wasn't meant to be remembered. He was just some guy wanting to sell a gem for money.
In BW2 you must battle Ingo and Emmet in a tag battle with the protagonist you didn't choose (Rosa or Nate) They're also the only Facility heads who use the champion theme of their region (being said, Alder's battle theme isn't even Alder's, bcs in BW2 he doesn't even use it, while Ingo, Emmet and Benga do)
I have used the mystery gift quite often in Crystal with my sister but Cal was never replaced. He was however replaced by my sister's name and Pokemon after we had our first link battle.
It's funny that you mentioned Ingo and Emmet cause I saw a commercial on the Japanese Pokémon RUclips just yesterday announcing their addition to Pokémon Masters.
riley is not technically aaron. aura guardians are part of a peace keeper organization like rangers. not only did he appear in the games. he appeared in the anime in the sinnoh region for an episode long after lucario and the mystery of mew which, was during the battle frontier saga. he also had a major role in the adventure manga with a lot of chapters under his belt.
Mira did show up in an episode of the anime, however her Kadabra was downgraded to an Abra thanks to Uri Geller. Also Earl made an appearance in the anime where he dances around and even Brock joins him in one
I never played the Sevii Islands so yeah I have no idea who the first two characters are lol. I beat the Elite Four and didn't think there was anything else to do so I just kinda stopped there I guess. Also, now I'm curious, do all the PC storage system administrators in every region work for Bill? After all, Bill is the one who originally invented the storage system. I have a few suggestions by the way, if you ever wanna do a part two to this video lol. In no particular order: 1. the researcher you rescue from Team Magma/Team Aqua at the start of the Hoenn games 2. the fossil dude you meet in Gen 1 who refuses to share his fossils with you until you beat him in a battle 3. Technically he's an anime character only, but Dexter from the Indigo League anime 4. the bikers in Indigo League, also in the anime 5. the Nurse Joy that gets hypnotized by Mewtwo in the anime (maybe there should be a separate video for forgotten anime characters, huh?)
I remember the last one the most because I used to play the Dream World a lot when it was out. I still have a lot of my Dream World Pokemon brought them all the way up to the Sun, moon, Ultra Sun And Moon games.
I know Mira all *too* well... After getting stuck in the massive confusing corridors of the catacombs that I found her in, I got hopelessly lost, and because I saved after finding her, and having no access to a guide at the time, I had to restart my game. I might've been able to faint my Pokemon and warp back to a Pokemon Centre, but they were so tough, that the opponent would fall to my flail before they could defeat me, and since Mira heals your Pokemon after every fight, I was screwed.
So, I noticed something interesting with the Machoke that belongs to Chaz. Normally Pokémon only say their Nintendo given name, but Macherie (Machoke) says a combination of his nickname instead.
Here's a fun fact: Nowhere in the games, not even once, are the Pokémon Center Ladies referred to as "Nurse Joy." Even in the card game, she's just called "Pokémon Center Lady." So yeah, that nurse being called Casey isn't that big a deal, because "Nurse Joy" only exists in the anime.

Mimi the Milotic sounds really nice!
愛乞う イクトAikou Well thank you
Christie Ralte I don’t understand what reference you’re talking about. The name just came to my mind.
Christie Ralte Oh it’s fine
Christie Ralte Was this in the manga, or was it something else?
I only know chazz cause you gotta beat the master rank contest to get *LUCARIONITE*
Hands down you're my favorite channel for Pokemon content Hoops. Thank you for the amazing content.
Most memorable NPCs from Pokémon #1: youngster Joey and his top percent rattatta
Yes. He and Mirror B are my stories' meme characters
Nice job. :)
I could never forget Chaz
May I suggest a list like this that actually recognizes some of the best forgotten anime only characters
Me, looking at the thumbnail: is that Celio?
How could you forget Ingo and Emmet? They’re basically the “Frontier Brains” of Gen 5. The Battle Chatelaines on the other hand they just kind of blend together and despite their crazy designs are pretty forgettable.
I've yet to watch the video, but imma make a guess and say you didn't talk about the manga only admins of team magma and team aqua Blaise and Amber
What about executive Proton? He's involved with team rocket, and my dude has never showed up in any other games or in pkmn generations. I'm still waiting for it.
You're right. I've never heard of any of these people except for Ingo and Emmett
In BW2 you HAVE to battle them. In Nimbasa city, you meet Nate or Rosa, and have a double battle with Ingo and Emmet.
Earl Dervish is probably a pun of "whirling dervish". I think he spins around when you talk to him in GSC
You have Cyndaquil on your shoulder he is my favorite starter and my sidekick forever!! Although Popplio is a close second since sun and moon came out
I remember ingo and his brother from the anime but i still forgot them
Ingo!!! Emmett!!! I'm so glad they're in this video!!! I remember them from the anime -- I loved them !!
Underrated precious boys !!!
yay i love them!!!!!
I remembered Ingo and Emmet because one, cool designs, two, someone I knew used to RP as them all the time. Remember Mira because I played through Wayward Cave fairly recently, remember Chaz though dunno quite how.
kaiko where is wayward cave??
In this list I was expecting the guys from the Battle Frontier, the Battle Chatelaines from the Battle Maison, and Yancy and Curtis from BW2
Aww how can you forget about Mira?? She's so cute! I remember the first time I saw her back in 2007.
i have never saw her where is mira?
@@jakubsvacek3413 She was in Diamond and Pearl
@@travis9831 where?
@@jakubsvacek3413 In the cave where you catch Gible. I think it's in the route north of the first gym city. The cave entrance is hidden in the back of the route underneath a bridge
I knew some of these, but forgot some too.
Ingo and emit are very memorable to me just because of their designs tbh
The only one i even RECOGNIZED in this list is chaz, i did a lot of those contests and still hop on my old save file to do a couple of them today
I'm pretty sure there was a scene with Emmet and Ingo infront of the train station while doing something for Elisa (I think that's the electric type gym leader's name for gen5)
ye that happened kinda
Celio got official art?? Lmao
Incredible research!
Dude, you pretty much HAVE to fight Ingo/Emmet in Black2/White2 to progress the story.
And since you talked about Stadium 2, Cal also appears in Stadium 2 as the CPU opponent in Free Battles.
I miss Dream World...
Why did you expect to not know who Ingo is? Him and his brother are epic
If you do a second part of this, Anthea and Concordia are also forgotten by a ton of people I know who are into Pokemon as well.
I only remembered ingo, emmet and chazz
Gideon has a unique name just like every other trainer in the entirety of FRLG. Gideon is forgetable because he wasn't meant to be remembered. He was just some guy wanting to sell a gem for money.
I only remember Emmet and Ingo because I follow the manga and because for some reason, they remind me of Wedge and Biggs from Final Fantasy.
In BW2 you must battle Ingo and Emmet in a tag battle with the protagonist you didn't choose (Rosa or Nate)
They're also the only Facility heads who use the champion theme of their region (being said, Alder's battle theme isn't even Alder's, bcs in BW2 he doesn't even use it, while Ingo, Emmet and Benga do)
The fact that you named our Cyndaquil *Zuko* makes me unreasonably happy!! Marry me?
(i named my Chimchar Zuko back in the day lmao)
It seems hardly anybody knows any Team Rocket characters but I adore them all.
I have used the mystery gift quite often in Crystal with my sister but Cal was never replaced. He was however replaced by my sister's name and Pokemon after we had our first link battle.
It's funny that you mentioned Ingo and Emmet cause I saw a commercial on the Japanese Pokémon RUclips just yesterday announcing their addition to Pokémon Masters.
man, i remember that
4:36
Super Hero landing!
Really hard on the knees.
I remember Ingo and Emmet from the anime, but that official art is terrifying.
yep. somethig is off about them
Good Stuff Hoops!
I remember Cal because you can refight him endlessly and with his high level pokemon he is one of the best ways to grind levels end game.
I didn’t think the subway brothers were forgettable. Just checking out the subway in BW you see them... and they had some episodes in the anime!
riley is not technically aaron. aura guardians are part of a peace keeper organization like rangers. not only did he appear in the games. he appeared in the anime in the sinnoh region for an episode long after lucario and the mystery of mew which, was during the battle frontier saga. he also had a major role in the adventure manga with a lot of chapters under his belt.
Mira did show up in an episode of the anime, however her Kadabra was downgraded to an Abra thanks to Uri Geller. Also Earl made an appearance in the anime where he dances around and even Brock joins him in one
People to Ingo in 2019: *I don't even know who you are*
Ingo: *You will*
I never played the Sevii Islands so yeah I have no idea who the first two characters are lol. In no particular order:
1. the researcher you rescue from Team Magma/Team Aqua at the start of the Hoenn games
2. the fossil dude you meet in Gen 1 who refuses to share his fossils with you until you beat him in a battle
3. Technically he's an anime character only, but Dexter from the Indigo League anime
4. the bikers in Indigo League, also in the anime
5. the Nurse Joy that gets hypnotized by Mewtwo in the anime (maybe there should be a separate video for forgotten anime characters, huh?)
how could i ever forget my two favorite lads, ingo and emmet? :(
Dude, the Stat trainers are super important! Mira especially, since she specializes in Sp. Attack!!
Ingo and Emmit i can never forget
So, I noticed something interesting with the Machoke that belongs to Chaz. Normally Pokémon only say their Nintendo given name, but Macherie (Machoke) says a combination of his nickname instead.
The PokéDude from Teachy TV.
ingo and emit cant really be forgettable for now since they just got a new card.
they did? which pack is it in?
@@mezzovii It's a supporter card in SM Team Up. It's pretty useful imo
No Foreign Sounding Team Rocket Grunt from Gen 2 & B2&W2
I was hoping to learn his name
Mira was scene in one episode. She was trying to enlist Ash and his friends so she can search for a long lost Pokémon.
Ingo and Emmet are pretty popular in the japanese fanbase though..
I actually remember about half of the list( with a brief reminder)
Never battled ingo and emmet but I knew about them cause of their anime and manga appearances
Main series games? No conflicted marshmallow boy then😆 Interesting and good video, I only knew the one’s frow B/W
Ingo and Emmet are pretty cool
