My late father was a Grenadier Guard on duty at Buckingham Palace and The Tower of London. These men are rigorously trained and very smart. I can hear my father's voice even now telling these males to get their hands out of their pockets and stand straight! As for their sloppy dress, trainers, jeans and those dreadful knitted hats....
My father stuck by his strict dress code and bearing all his life. He walked miles every day, even in old age.
      A world sadly gone now.

If you'd done the same mounted duty (not doubting you, just emphasising the mounted aspect) you'd know how dangerous it would be to have a horse and rider in a closed sentry box (the door at the rear is closed once the guard has taken post) with any sort of barrier to the front between the horse and the public. Way beyond unacceptably dangerous for the horse, rider, and the public. It's also a crowded public pavement with plenty of foot traffic even without the sentries doing public duties, so you'd be halving the width of the pavement and forcing the public into the road, which would be even more dangerous and unacceptable.
The level of "stress" and the "behaviour" of the tourists is nothing like the impression given here. There are at least a dozen of these sites, probably more, all hoping for something they can monetize on RUclips, and all crowding the sentries and the public to get something they can use. The guard are there for six hours a day, plus gaurd mount / dismount and inspection, so around 400 minutes a day - the most these sites get with anything worth putting a clickbait title to is maybe a minute or two a day, so a fraction of one percent, with nothing going on for over 99% of the time - even the old perk of chatting up / being chatted up by the tourists, particularly when in combats out of ceremonial kit at a changeover, has now gone as they're always being filmed so they can't risk it, nor can they risk over-reacting.
Get rid of those monetizing it and you'd have a happier, more relaxed guard with a lot less stress and the problem would be solved

The young men and women who perform these ceremonial duties are real soldiers. When not "performing" for the tourists and helping the national economy, they carry out normal duties, foot guards as infantry and mounted guards in various armoured units. They are rightly proud of themselves and do not deserve any level of disrespect.

American here. In the U.S. all public is kept behind a rope (nice looking rope😊) at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery. Any one trying to slip around the rope will have an armed guard with bayonet attached and the high volume command to keep back will be heard in the next county. Idiots have been arrested and permanently banned. I think this is what y’all should do. Your guards are active duty military as are ours, and should be afforded total respect. The people who act like this have never served and wouldn’t last through the first day of basic training, little snowflakes. My heart felt thanks to all your military and guards for being the fine people that they are, and for their service and sacrifice.

I've watched a lot of these videos and I have to say that most tourists are polite and respectful. There are clueless ones who do dumb things. The number who are actually disrespectful is very small. So I'd say overall it's a positive experience for everybody. I don't think many tourists understand that these are real soldiers, most of them combat veterans, and not just hired to be there for the tourists. I'll bet it's tough for the soldiers that they can't chat up some of the more alluring women.
