Helpful, informative video. For my PC, changing the owner of the directory was the critical step because then and only then could I rename the Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe directory. We have kind of an arms race - people keep finding ways to disable Edge even as MS intentionally keeps making it more difficult. Whether this video will apply in two years is anyone's guess, but it works for now. Thanks for posting.

I am on my wife's laptop, it just did an update, and installed that hated Microsoft edge. Microsoft had no right to put that browser on this computer. We should all start a class action law suit aimed at Microsoft for doing that without our permission. This is the only computer of 4 in this house that has Windows 10 as an Operating System, all others run Linux Mint operating Systems, because it is much better OS
Easy to follow, however I get stuck at "Change" Trusted Installer. When I go to search my user name, I get a prompt saying, User, group...with the following name cannot be found. Check the selected object types and locations for accuracy and ensure that you have typed the object name correctly or remove it from the object seclection. ??? Please Help!!!

End task for Edge in Task Manager, then you can rename it like in the video.

its worked but i had to End Task' edge with ctrl alt del' before i could rename the folder
