You are the king of overviews Jess, nobody does it better then u! Always love seeing u flip thru them and talking about them and watching the artwork! Speaking about the Joker, have u watched the Joker movie yet?
"It's a Joker book, so you need to be ready to read a lot of Joker". Really? I never would have thought. Jokes aside (which is odd to say in this context), good video.
Thanks for the video Jess! Whenever I'm having a bad day, I'll always throw on one of your videos and it instantly makes it better. Keep up the good work!
Great review Jess as always. I've only read'ed about The Joker post Crisis On Infinite Earths except for a few of the Bronze Age Batman stories he appeared in. He's a great villain and good DC is starting to collect more padt Joker stories in collected editions. Keep up the great work as always !!!
...i just saw this review randomely on youtube and went on ebay and just literally bought this Joker Omnibus for $25.00!!!! I had no idea it existed....thanks for the review!
I love this review....I love the new cover design too design. How do you properly relax binding? I notice mine creaks.... I want to get Bronze Age Robin...I want Bronze Age Wonder Woman (Colan era) and Bronze age All Star Squadron!
Great overview Omnidog! Thanks. You haven’t been doing too many reviews outside of your Baturday/Spiderday shows. Come on man, we got time. Show us the love!
The bronze age books are ripe for these kind of collections, because in my opinion the colors and printing finally reached modern quality. So it makes for beautiful reproduction. The golden/silver age stuff (although good) comes off as garish on modern paper and with digital fill coloring. Great overview!
I have this omnibus and was always interested in cracking it open and now watching your review only interested me even more. I always enjoy your reviews. And do yourself a favor, watch the Joker movie!
Ricardo Lightbourne I’ve never been that choosy about paper in books. I think this paper is fine. I know it’s not glossy which a lot of people prefer but the art pops just as nicely on this matte paper. This is my subjective personal opinion lol.
Old colours should be in matte paper. Glossy paper doesnt go well cause it creates a lot of shines. Glad DC started to use matte paper for clásic comics like this great omnibus
@@carlosmateos6567 Great point Carlos, but DC used a great paper stock for the Batman the Brave and the Bold Bronze Age Omnibuses. They did not have to change a thing, it is an excellent paper and the content looks great. Now there is an inconsistent paper quality in the Bronze Age Omnibus line. We will see what paper they will use for the Robin: The Bronze Age Omnibus coming next month.
@@ricardolightbourne7899 Im buying this ómnibus volumes by amazon since Im from Spain and dc material from the bronze age iits not published here. Luckily for me I can read in english so I can enjoy this Wonderful comics. In the oposite, here in Spain marvel's comics are available in Spanish in great editions. And the "classic " stuff (from 1960 to 1985) are published in matte paper. And to me thats the better option to enjoy a classic comic, because it keeps the colour much more similar to the original colour in the comic books when they were published for the first time
@@OmnidogsVault the Doom Patrol omnibus has so much candy... Original comic art pages... Who's who... And unseen stories as well as original proposals for the team
awesome a new overview vid. i have a few suggestions for a overview, new x-men by grant morrison, wolverine by jason aaron secret warriors fantastic 4 by hickman. its great that you take time to talk about different things about the books, most just rush through it.
I have been waiting for an overview of this book. Thank you! Having said that, I didn't expect you to do it, considering you are so sick of the Joker 🤮
this was kind of impulsive, Amazon had it for a great price and a viewer wanted to see the book. And I kind of wanted to read some Bronze Age stuff lol
@@OmnidogsVault you sold me on it and got this with an Amazon coupon for a great price. My only complaint is the paper. I'm not sure why did they use that paper, but it looks and feels very cheap, especially compared to other omnis from the era, or others being published today by the same company. Anyway, the book looks fun... Like a book to visit once in a while to read a couple of quick Joker stories. Thanks for doing the review :)
@@OmnidogsVault well, paper would have to be really bad to influence my desicion whether or not to buy. In this case, it's definitively not a deal breaker, but it did caught my attention. Again, thank you for your videos. Always entertaining 😊
One thing I dont get about this collection, is the change in cover art from the other bronze age collections. And I also recall that this was initially cancelled?
When I seen that classic Neal Adam's art I just couldn't help but think "I wish his Omnibus had this.." lol the re-inked stuff he done is just bad. This book looks absolutely beautiful though so, thank you Jess for the overview and review!! Also! I'm definitely picking up the Absolute of New Frontier after watching your videos on it!! So thank you again for recommending these amazing books with gorgeous artwork, Jess!! Greatly appreciated. God bless you, sir.
The Scott Snyder Batman was what I feel the Joker is, I do love this Joker as well because I feel it's a product of its time. I look at it like Batman 66, I know folks say 66 wasn't Batman, but in my opinion, it fits the time period perfectly. I guess as a comic fan and Batman fan, I just enjoy it all. I just recently purchased this Joker omnibus. It's pretty expensive now. But I wanted it in my collection. Thanks for the preview, I'm going to read it once I receive my copy.
The important thing is you love the book and you do! Good observation that the characters always seem to fit the time period. Snyder's Joker is a product of the constant evolution of comics which is a good thing!
I have been waiting for this video FINALLY! You a actually analyse it better than other youtubers, thank you for listening my suggestion. 😊
cool, happy you're happy!!

Good to see you like the colors 👍
Completely missed the Jim Aparo, B&B 129-drawn, illustration embossed on the back of the book! LOL. No surprise.
I always mean to ask about if the Neal Adam's work was left alone and I always forget. Glad to hear it's original!!
That Anniversary issue cover is definitely Sienkiewicz.
yeah I agree

Does this omnibus collect the death in the family storyline? Or is that a different joker?
