I love how even though Maul doesn't speak much in this, you can tell what he's thinking just by simple facial expressions; like when the masked Jedi tries to attack him after surviving his original injury. Maul's expression says, "Still alive? Fine!" -slice slice slice- "Get up from that!" Or at the end when he's basically throwing the female Jedi around, he looks bored, like an experienced warrior training a rookie, "This is basic training; you're letting your anger hinder you, not empower you." And at the end, he hesitates to kill her. Maul loves exposing the hypocrisy of the Jedi Order; what better way to do it than converting one of their own? And with all the anger she displayed, he probably sensed potential in her. But he also knew that Sidious was watching and testing him, so even though it was with some reluctance, he obeyed and passed the test.
Yeah the actor playing Maul was super impressive. It’s not easy to act without words playing an iconic character while not overacting or doing a bad impression. Really well done 👏👏
Too bad he talks too much in the Clone Wars.
@@kenpoarniceguy1 I think its ok, or otherwhise its very hard to fill much screentime with those characters. They work in short movies, or if they are in a group who talks for them.
Besides that, I liked the Clone Wars Version of Maul, he was more menacing and showed he was quite intelligent as well.

If you’re interested in Darth Maul I greatly recommend watching Maul: Hatred, it’s a short compilation of his story and it brings into light his dark story throughout Star Wars !! Definitely made maul one of my favourite characters in Star Wars !!!!

Some Little Background Facts:
1. This Plays Obviously before Episode 1, therefore it was Only Natural that none of the Jedi Survived, considering How Shocked Obi Wan and the rest of the Jedi were when they saw Darth Maul for the first time!
2. The Girl was a Padawan, probably the only one, therefore it's only Natural that she Performed pretty Badly at first, considering that she had the Least Amount of Training and Battle Experience out of all of them!
3. That Change in Personality showed that she was Drawn Dangerously Far to the Dark Side, which is also the reason why Maul Hesitated for a Moment as he Felt that and Considered taking her as his Apprentice but since his Master Watched him, he had no other Choice but to strike her down, since there is still the Rule of two for the Sith in effect, which says that there can only be 2 Siths at the Same time, a Master and a Student, therefore Sidious wouldn't have agreed if he would have taker her as a student!
4. The Reason why that ony Guy called Mauls Fighting Style as a long forgotten art is because Double-Bladed Lightsabers were mainly used in the Old Republic, thousands of Years before the Star Wars Movie and were mainly encountered on Siths (altough there were some Jedi that used time like Satele Shan) and even there they were Rarer than Standard Lightsabers! Over the Centuries a lot of Knowledge of that time was lost, including the Knowledge about Double-Bladed Lightsabers (sidious Found out about them through old Sith notes and passed them on to Darth Maul) which is also why most of them Reacted like they did and had such a hard time against him (including Qui Gon and Obi Wan in Episode 1) is because this Kind of Weapon hasn't been seen for Centuries, only after Darth Mauls appearance, they became more widespread again!
5. That time where Sidious calls him Darth Maul at the end, should probably be the time where Maul got his Darth title, considering his look!

Darth Maul, this is my daily Star Wars Geekout moment, is the son of Mother Talzin, a nightsister witch.
Episode I in the prequels actually gave birth to a amazing story arc within cannon between Darth Maul and Obi-Wan Kenobi. He appears throughout the Clone Wars and has a huge part in the 7th and final season of the series. Darth Maul Vs. Ahsoka Tano is one of the greatest duels that appeared in the series, even since they hired the original actor who played Maul in Episode I , Ray Park, to do the motion capture.
Looking forward to finally checking out Clone Wars and then Rebels. Keep hearing about the epic Maul vs Ahsoka duel 😃

I watched this long ago when it first came out and all i can say is that i had the same reactions you guys did. Im a huge HUGE Darth Maul fan and i have no idea why these folks havent made a full length movie of some kind yet. Darth Maul needs his own story,,,and this short film did it very well. Very well made fan movie....the best if you ask me.
Best fan made film we’ve seen but admittedly we haven’t seen a ton. Got us more hooked on Darth Maul for sure 😃
I have to say, Maul is one of the most ruthless and resilient Star Wars characters I have ever seen! He survived getting cut in half by Obi-Wan (sorry spoilers) and focused his hate for Obi-Wan on a desolate planet giving himself a second chance! The Force is very complicated. Jacky Chan does the wallrun without cables though :D but the fight choreographer actually worked with him in the jacky chan stunt crew and i think a few of them guys did as well at some time

:D - i so much enjoyed your reaction - but when it came to your most liked effect shots which were the closeup where the lightsaber cuts into the stone wall and the shot where the beserk Jedi gets cut in pieces... having done those two VFX-shots for the film (besides others) really put a smile on my face as an VFX artist. And i can put a close to the "what is Maul feeling when she is crying" argument. It´s his last drop of compassion and humanity where he is unsure if he should do what he is kind of forced and trained to do at this point - pushing him over the edge.

I mean to be fair she was a Padawan and who just saw some (I’m presuming masters) get slaughtered with relative ease and from the beginning she wanted to contact the council.

I cosplay darthmaul...i loved how he looked his apponents in the eyes when he delt the killing blow...the jedi were cool...i liked the bane lookin dude...he was a beast. Thats why he seperated em...he wanted to fight the guy w most skill giving him problems 1 on 1. And the guy who played maul was sooo good at acting w just facial expressions....love this film...and yalls reactions...badass guys...thanks

He was hesitant because in this he is but a apprentice. In this he basically give up his humanity. He would look at the drone because he knew emperor palpitatine was watching him. It’s known that Darth Maul was terrified of the Emperor. So him hesitating was due to him giving up and accepting the dark side as well as that fact of the fear of the emperor knowing he showed weakness.

The lore of darth maul is mostly developed in the star wars Dark Horse comic books. Showing the first padawan he killed, the task he had to do in training, how darth sidious raise him and more. He is my favorite character in star wars. The story of maul is so tragic and my love for the character grew even more after watching clone wars.

darth maul was not going to kill the girl, but as seen in the video, there was a drone where there was a camera through which darth sidious (palpatine) his master was watching, and as the sith have no compassion, it was seen forced to kill her ...... if he did not kill her, palpatine would kill him, as happened when luke skywalker in the episode of the return of the jedi did not agree to go to the dark side, then palpatine was going to kill him.
Taking away the last of his humanity 😢

I view the end as him seeing something of himself in her. He was taken by Sidious. She was taken by the Jedi. Neither had a choice. Both are now fighting at the commands of their masters. But for a twist of fate (or the force) he could have just as easily found himself in her position. In the end, they are both slaves of their masters.

What I drew from the hesitation at the end was that Darth Maul at the beginning would have killed her with no remorse but since she put up a fight and stood up to the challenge and you could really tell she put her all into the fight that it earned his respect from fighter to fighter so may have let her go because she gained his respect as a warrior (Although doubtful he would let anyone go in any situation)

He was definitely considering her as an apprentice (adding a cool double meaning for the title of the film) but because of the rule of two and sidious watching, he knew he couldn't get away with taking her in. Thats why he appears to be mad when he kills her because she was such a potent apprentice for a sith.
In my opinion I think he hesitated at first when he killed her master. But at there final battle he looked into her eyes and saw that she could become his apprentice but than saw that sidious was watching and decided to finish her. That's just what I think.
Love hearing the different theories but we have to ask. Why the hate of penguins? 😂🤗

this is easily one of my favorite star wars films.. fan film not withstanding. however, the one criticism i would give is that they should have had one person try to run and warn the council. then at least they wouldnt have died for nothing.
that ending though is by far one of the best action scenes ive seen on the internet and really one of the better scenes in a film this century. so incredibly well done.

Can you react to Kenobi by Hero Fans Production? It’s really good.
Also each got the Jedi had different fighting styles known as lightsaber forms:
The togruta used form one - shi cho - which is the basic form
The flipper used form four - aataru - which is what Yoda uses. It’s a form based around used force assisted jumps and leaps to add momentum behind your strikes and to evade enemy attacks
The one you loved who got stabbed and came back to keep fighting used form five - shien - the overpowering form. Anakin Skywalker uses this form. It’s based around using brute strength and force abilities to blow open an opponents defences
The master used form six - niman - which is the form archivists usually use as it is only limited by the imagination of the user. It uses the basics of all the forms causing the users to basically be jack of all trades master of none in terms of lightsaber forms. Niman users also use force abilities to great extent during fights such as force pushes
Earth Maul uses a variant of form seven - Juyo - which is all about drawing on the dark side of the force to increase the speed and strength of attckas letting the user attack blindingly fast with great speed. Mace Windu is the creator of the light side version of form seven - vaapad - which lets the user draw in an opponents dark side energy and negative emotions instead of your own which makes Windu exceptionally dangerous to dark sides. This is why Windu beat Darth Sidious in episode three whilst Yoda did not.
Meanwhile the apprentice/padawan used a mixture of forms one to three - in order: shi cho, soresu and makashi- she used shi cho mainly in combat with the soresu being used when she was deflecting blaster bolts and she used a couple of makashi jabs. Stabbing with a lightsaber is a makashi move: as different lightsaber forms were created for different purposes
Why lightsaber forms were created:
1. When lightsabers were firsts created the Jedi had to adapt from using swords to using plasma blades so adapted normal sword fighting styles to fit
2. Blasters were created so soresu was created to deflect blaster bolts - this is Obi-wan Kenobi’s primary form but he is proficient in forms 4, 5 and 3 with him specialising in form 4 as a padawan then switching to form 2 - his padawan specialised in form five so he had to learn to teach it to his padawan and he got in lots of lightsaber fights in the clone wars so learned makashi
3. The sith were created and both of the other forms were terrible against other lightsaber users so makashi was created to be a lightsaber combat focused form - count dooku uses this as his primary form
4. Jedi if different species needed different lightsaber forms due to them not being completely humanoid this form was created to account for small species like Yoda and avian species that needed to be able to attack from the air
5. Shien was created to mix forms two and three as it would take to long to switch between forms in a fight
6. New force abilities were discovered to be used in combat so a form was created to utilise them
7. Juyo was used almost universally by the sith and Vaapad was created by mace Windu to allow him to express his anger in combat as he struggled with anger issues and didn’t want to fall to the dark side.

Things I never understood about Star Wars.
1. Why are lightsabers instant kill sticks? Most of these finishing stabs are in the the gut and just like a bullet you can theoretically keep fighting (minding you don't go into shock). Especially considering lightsabers cauterize the wounds so you don't have to worry about bleeding out immediately.
2. Since a lot of wounds they get look at least momentarily survivable why do they never get a final attack in? Like the dude that was impaled by Maul had a clear opening to take Mauls head off or something, but got sent to the shadow realm instead.
3. Why do they kick? It seems incredible risky to extend any limb near a person with a lightsaber considering they can do the tiniest PP flick of their wrist and take off the kicky person leg or foot. That one has always stumped me.
''You couldn't done that sooner'' the question we always make when a Jedi simply doesn't use the Force, they like the drama!

Great video! Darth Maul had so many fan made video on youtube but as a Darth Maul fan, Hatred far beyond from others. Actually Hatred not a fan made video its just edited video from star wars episode 1, star wars clone wars animation series and star wars rebels animation series. If you like that video you need to see Hatred.

To answer your question, maul was inspecting the girl during the whole fights. When he first saw her crying, he saw that she started breaking, when her master died. He was thinking of taking her as his own apprentice. You already noticed the change in her, she became more aggressive and more furious, which is not the jedi path, she started turning in to the dark force. Maul noticed that and as i said above and in the end of the film he really wanted to take her as his apprentice, but he wasnt able to, as he was being watched by his own master. /apprentices kill their masters/he was probably looking to recruit her, to train her and help him kill palpatine/ the sith rule is there can be only 1 master and 1 apprentice. I hope that helps you a bit 😀

Darth maul wanted to keep the apprentice alive but he was being watched by palpatine so he had to kill her it’s the rule “there can only be 2”
Plus I like the fact they showed her master being arrogant into saying “he understood” mauls figthing style witch shows the jedi have “reckless pride” and limbed “by self righteousness” into thiking they can always handle it instead of thiking logically when they were debating to inform the council but choose to fight.

Any upcoming assassins creed gameplay? I'm so excited for you guys to play the franchise, Yesterday I finished Assassins Creed Odyssey after I played the whole franchise, Now I have valhalla only left to play, I started it, It wasn't the best and my graphic card can't handle it well since the game is too big, So I'll keep it in my MUSTPLAY games when I upgrade my pc!!! But I'm so excited for your gameplays guys! Try to play odyssey because its AMAZINGGG! the world is so beautiful!
