This episode is "right on" a problem, which I have developed, stemming from a related scoliosis issue. My left hip rotates forward when I walk. I have been focused on hip adduction drills to relieve the knee pain, but I may have been looking in the wrong direction. I forgot about clam shells. Listening to you two, always gives me a new persperctive(s).

Yep. Happened to me. Severe knee pain, had cortisone injections. Kept getting worse. Orthopedic surgeon I was seeing sent meto his partner, who did the joint replacements. 5 minutes with him, and he said "its your hip." Had hip replacement, no more knee pain. Was not happy with guy who treated me for 2 years, and never looked at hip.
    Good video.

Soo, I've been having Avascular Necrosis of both femoral heads for about a year now, and since 2 weeks ago I also developed knee pain thinking that the necrosis has spread, I am schedulled for double hip replacement on 24th of September, hope the pain goes away from my knees. My doctor said the same thing, that it's most likely because of my hips (because I walk funny from the pain) so let's see. Thank you for the informative video!

One of the most beneficial tricks I learned from my stint in the Army was from a physical therapist who taught me how to identify and correct anterior and posterior ilium discrepancies. I teach it to my clients all the time. Fixes bursitis of the hip in 1-2 days and so easy to do at home!

    It really does make sense.
Now I know why my aunt has a problem with her knee. Her knee turns in, and she limps. Doctors have never been able to figure it out.
She's 91 years old now. There's no way they would never do surgery to try to fix that now. But at least I understand the cause now.
    Thank you!

slight scoliosis can and does throw off hip balance. So knee pain can be related to hip and hip can be related to back.

I think I have the opposite in what was explained at 3:35. I think my knee turns outward instead of inward and I have pains in my knee as a result. I'm sure this is from an incidence when I was a teenager stretching in the side splits when doing Martial Arts and at one point it felt like the head of my femur popped out of the hip socket slightly and it felt like when you have to crack your elbow or a joint back into place... but I just never could. All these years later no chiropractor or anyone could help me until I started doing Yoga how to pop my hip back in place. But I think after so many years the hip joint has some calcium buildup and isn't still sitting correctly as it should. Any advice or would be greatly appreciated if anyone knows or has experience with this.. Thanks

I'm a retired Pro Ballroom/Latin Dancer, but I still dance for fun. I had zero pain throughout my 30-year career, but - after sitting during the pandemic, I am now experiencing excruciating pain in the right glute, hip flexor, and underneath the patella. It mainly happens when I cross my right leg in front of my left and turn my torso rightward. Ouch! I have tried chiropractic and massage... but can you please direct me to a stretch or strengthening exercise? Thank you!!!

Hello, Back in 2014 I was attacked and my leg healed kinda rough. Now my legs are misleveled and I work on my feet so the knee sliding makes perfect sense as to why it hurts when i walk alot. Would yall recommend surgery? i want my legs leveled so i can live a healthy painless life.is it recommended?

I'm a runner and have had inner knee pain for a year now. Had two MRI and it didn't show much. The Dr. Just gave me a cortisone shot and said if knee continues to hurt then it's probably my hip. Any advice

*I just realized this tonight. I had both hips replaced in 2020 from AVN. A day or 2 after my right hip replacement my right knee started hurting like crazy, and the same hospital replaced my knee to fix it stating AVN as the cause. Because my right hip felt worse after the surgery I went and got a second opinion from another hospital that tested my hip replacement was loose and they did a revision. So now my left hip started hurting and I just found out that that implant is now loose as well. Last night my left knee started hurting so bad that it felt broken so I looked it up and found out that knee pain is a common side effect of a bad hip. Long story short, I got a frigging knee replacement for no good reason. The doctors never said a hip could be the issue, they just replaced it instead.*
*The Cleveland Clinic gave me 2 bad hip replacements and an unneeded knee replacement. I need to call a lawyer.* 😢
