Thank you ❤ I learned three important things today that I didn’t know before.
    1. You can use the invested money from your 401k towards the purchase of your first home without that withdrawal being penalized 🙏🏾
    2. If your child is on your payroll as an employee of your business. Pay them $12,500 per year, allocate $6,000 of that $12,500 towards a custodial ROTH IRA for them. Let compound intrest do it’s magic over the years and by the time they are 30 - 40 years old. They could (most likely) have a million to their name.
    3. The difference and importance of having a financial advisor and a CPA apart of your team/strategy.

It’s nice to see a young African American woman talking to us about money. There are not a lot of Black women in this field. She has a level of expertise that would gravitate me towards her. She comes across as very helpful, educated and trusting. When it comes to accountants I’ve heard not so good things about some of them but I would rock with her.
Thanks A.O. for having her in and telling us things we need to know.

Thank you for this!! This is what the historically wealthy and people born into wealth all know from the beginning that a lot of us brown and black people don’t know and are just learning in our 30’s. This is giving us an advantage that we can now pass onto our families so WE too can build generational wealth!.🙏🏽🙏🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 more of this content please. Thank you!!

My wife at the time (ex now) took the CPA test twice and failed. She’s one of the smartest/opportunist I’ve met in life. She said after failing the second time that accounting isn’t a passion for her anymore. Went back to school to get her masters in education and likes being a teacher.
Besides the point, listen to this woman and heed her advice!

Not all CPAs do taxes, I’m an EA (we are certified in taxes, but can do everything a CPA does except sign off on an audit), plus a CPA has to be licensed in each State they operate, EAs are certified in all 50 States, bookkeepers (not all, just like in anything else) are very knowledgeable and can tell you great tax strategies, but you have to get the right person. I started in public accounting, all of my friends that are CPAs only about 2 do taxes, I’ve done taxes for other CPAs. Bottom line who ever you chose to work with do your due diligence and make sure they are knowledgeable in what you actually need.

All CPA don’t generalize. Some fall into niches and specialize. This is how they make a lot
of money instead of being jack of all trades and a master of none. Also, if it’s a small business there is only so many accounting principles with GAAP that are applicable.

  • @ItsJustSimpleAsThat_Ang
    @ItsJustSimpleAsThat_Ang Год назад

I’m not a CPA, However, I am CPA eligible. I have a Masters in Accounting and I apply everything the lady said to my clients. It’s all about understanding and applying the tax codes. Having a designation doesn’t necessarily mean you know more because some CPAs specializes and focus on certain accounting principles. Having the CPA designation means you are charged more for the perception of knowing more.

you cant. you have no legitimate tax reducing expenses. you're already getting a huge tax break with the standard deduction. a married person making 60k or less with children is basically paying nothing in taxes. they're getting money from the tax payers

your parents or your family in general should be put on your board of trustees, meet once a year and keep the minutes. go on vacation with your family and that is called a business retreat. also if you have an infant and use their image on your marketing, you can also pay your child up to 12k as a model. just saying.

Advice to get CPA and financial advisor is wise, but you didn’t discuss the cost of employing both and or how to vet them. I had a CPA who offered to charge me $600 a month to quarterly review my account via quickbooks. The monthly booking keeping was up to me. I think $600 per month in the stock market is a better move.

I'm planning to transition from my 8-5 over to build single family homes for rentals in the next couple years. Saving cash right now. If everything goes ok. I should have well over $2 million in property and 6 figures cash flow and approaching 1 million in my 401k all before I hit 50.
I'd like to teach my daughter how to do this and run a real-estate rental business if she is interested.
She could be at my retirement target by age 30, or set a much more ambitious target.
Wealth means freedom. Hopefully she won't be stuck working an 8-5 making someone else rich for as long as I did.
Teach her how to build a house, run heavy equipment, manage money, find good investments.
She can go to college if she wants but hopefully I'll have taught her life skills that can make her a 6 figure income straight out of high-school.

Thank you AO for bringing thepeoplescpa on the show again. Great interview. Please inform her that there are so many people impersonating her on IG..she should get verified ASAP. Thanks
