I remember knowing them for one having 3 taillights and the other only 2 taillights. Back then I was only 5 years old. By 1980 I was a teen and found out why. It has been intriguing to me how the taillight arrangements had a visual effect on these car's image.
The Chevy Biscayne and Bel-Air, Ford Custom and Custom 500, Plymouth Fury I and Fury II were bare bones “company cars”. Most likely had rubber floor covering, not carpeting, plain but durable seat material, air conditioning & power steering and brakes (strictly for resale value) and maybe no radio. They also had less sound deadening so they were slightly lighter in weight. Some cars didn’t have A/C or power anything so they were lightweight. Most had a straight 6 or small V8 for economy.
This car so deserves this tribute. In fact you could take the "budget" out of the title and just call it Legend. It's my favorite Chevy all time and I love the others. Thanks for this video. If I could go back in time you know I would order up a 427 4 speed Biscayne from 66-69 take your pick those are the special but they are ALL special. Thank for video guys !
I have a 1970 Biscayne in autumn gold that I’m currently restoring. The video says that by 1970 power brakes and steering was standard, but my car does not have power brakes. I wish it did. Ima have to do the conversion
My Dad had 69’ Belair black/black and black. Had the dog dish hubcaps. It looked like a government car. We liked it. Kept it few years then bought a 73’ Grand Prix and yes it was black
My Grandparent's bought a new 69 Impala. 350. It was over the front side marker on each side. Dark Green like this one on the video. 3 speed automatic, power steering, and brakes. Radio. 4 season A/C as Chevrolet called it. Comfortron was the option Automatic Air Conditioner. Back then, you could order just any way you wanted it. My grandparents Impala had the radio antenna on the right rear fender. Didn't see many that way. It was a great trouble-free car. Thanks for sharing. Brought back memories with my grandparents.
You got a lot of car for the money with these less expensive models, and you could better appreciate the clean lines of the cars without all the chrome and decorative clutter.
Just a suggestion; make a longer version!

My sister-in-law had one of the these and it was a very roomy car. It was a 1969 model.
I'm very glad you were lucky enough to see this wonderful car live and probably even sit in it.

Bare bones but one hell of a sleeper.
