    The fundamental problem with United is they’ve signed a combination of over the hill, brand name, homegrown, and academy players to massive long term contracts on ridiculous wages that literally no other club would have signed the players to. The end result is many players have stayed years past when they should have left, successive managers have been stuck with players for years that don’t fit their systems, the players lose their hunger on so much money, players run down their contracts because they will never make the type of money they make at United ever again, no club will take on their wages, and managers keep getting thrown under the bus by players downing tools. The difference with Ten Hag is the fans have had enough of this player power culture, and contrary to the media trying to push Ten Hag out, the fans want him for another season because they are absolutely sick of the players showing up when they want to instead of having elite mentalities

    Allowing Ferguson to hand pick Moyes as his successor was the biggest mistake. An outgoing manager shouldn't be involved in that process. You could tell within a few months that Moyes was the wrong appointment. They should have targeted a high level, ultra successful manager like Guardiola, Ancelotti, etc.

    • @kelvinlove9460
      @kelvinlove9460 29 дней назад +37

      Moyes was his last choice. Guardiola was his first. He even wanted klop after guardiola.. he wanted Jose as well.. but all those managers already had plans at that point.. moyes was the only one available

    • @maverick214
      @maverick214 29 дней назад

      @@kelvinlove9460 I also suspect that Ed Woodward wasn't prepared to break the bank to do a massive contract buy out and a huge salary package for Guardiola, Klopp or Mourinho to entice them away from their current managerial gig. It would have paid off in the long run, looking at the success all three guys have had in the last decade. You pay peanuts, you get monkeys.

    Young hit the nail on the head. Utd didn't get the correct player to blend them into the squad in the last decade. Instead Utd just went for the Galatico model even RM abandoned now. For every Pogba you need a Kante or Darren fletcher or Park. They are great players in their own rights but not flashy or attracts attention.
    In every great sports team there's always characters that are not seen but definitely valued highly by their team mates. Richard Hill in the England rugby team that won WC. Most people won't even know who he is now but he was a vital part of that team. Most kids prob only know about Wilkinson and Martin Johnson. Eng was relatively poor in that WC until he came back from injury.

Instead Man Utd chose the 'Joker' Eric Ten Hag cos of the 5min fans (anyone under 30) & flip-flop fan Base!
