Very late to this, but I wanted to say quickly that this release was hardly spearheaded by me. In all honesty the only recent contribution I made to it was simply the donation of the old shotgun model. Always a good day when Saurian Target uploads a mod showcase! I seriously would like to get into Carnivores modding or doing a full reskin of Ice Age. I am the developer of Ark's upcoming mod, Appalachia, and I want to try to bring my map making skill and passion to Carnivores one day.
Awesome video Saurian! I wasn't expecting these guys to get any coverage here so this was a welcome surprise for sure. IIRC the Cryolophosaurus' sounds were a blend of various big cats with an emphasized down-pitched baboon; and the Andrewsarchus was leopard, wolf and emphasized down-pitched fox wails. Thought I'd tell ya those little factoid's since those were the sounds you seemed to enjoy most :))

These are incredible additions to Far North! The models and textures are perfectly canon-style, yet distinctly "Far North-esque" in appearance, specially on the texturing. Cryolophosaurus and Platybelodon are by FAR my favorites, and have some very interesting ecology! Thanks for the video, Saurian :)
I wish they would add a basilosaurus to the oceans of moraine domain as a hostile ambient animal… It would fit perfectly with the scenery and there’s I think no whales on FM-UV-32 so….

Far North’s Cryolophosaurus is my most favorite depiction of the animal. It has such a chonky appearance, keeping itself insulated from the cold using its fat instead of feathers like the Yutyrannus.
I believe every single one of these animals will make a return in the 2 upcoming full releases of Far North (Looking Far North and The True North). Although, I'm not sure about the Cryolophosaurus since Antipodes is also planning on featuring it. Also, Ophie has already shown the new models of the Sivatherium (now Sivateriy) and Yutyrannus on Deviantart.
11:00 and the Indricotherium from the mobile port of Carnivores Ice Age? does it count? 16:29 i like the roar, but i have a problem.... the tail. i like my tails long, make no mistake (there's a reason why i'm not keen on Far North's Hyaenodon); but most of this is from a practical pov. using the 16:40 timestamp, let me analyze it: why is it short? it should be longer - and tone down the vertical thickness; it's a tad excessive. with a tail like that, Cryolophosaurus would be slightly tilted downwards. "but it's thick, it should balance it out", you might argue. *no, it doesn't;* not when it's as long as it is now. can the tail be afford to be shorter considering how thick it is? yes, it probably can... but not THAT short! as i said, the animal would slightly tilt forward - down to the knee at the lowest. goodness knows how Cryolophosaurus can run, let alone catch anything. Cryolophosaurus' tail should be longer, but still chunky (just not as chunky as it is now). i hope Ophius modifies it.

The Sivatherium is my favorite of the new Mammals. But that thick Cryolophosaurus! HOOWY! That thing looks like it walked straight out of Carnivores Plus!
Hey Suarian i tried lots of mods but they all say that the Res.txt or menu.txt doesnt work including this mod, do you have any idea of what could be wrong ?
Funnily enough, Andrewsarchus is actually closely related to hippos and whales, so not only is the FMM UV-32 Andrewsarchus related to the Daeodon (another terrifying whippomorph) but it is also what happens when a hippopotamus switches to become a full fledge carnivore, which is a whole other category of terror and horror

I feel like the Dinocrocuta could also stand to be shaggier - taking some of the manes of other species of IRL hyena, plus the winter-coat genes of spotted hyenas.
You should check out Carnivores Apocalypse, it’s a really cool take on the carnivores series, a virus takes over the sector turning all dinosaurs into hyper aggressive zombies and you, a hyper experienced hunter, have to be sent in to help deal with the infection

Far North has always been one of my favorites. Even the older release just has that charm to it. And there's no map I love more than Moraine Domain (Lystopoda Fjord?) Nevertheless, I absolutely love the mod! Incredible!!
I know this video isn't related but when ever I seem to play any of the ice age mods or the Jurassic Park Hunter Legends mod, there's this weird texture glitch that makes everything white that I have no idea what it is. It ruined most of the carnivore mods so I can't even play most of these mods. I tried to play Jurassic Park Hunter Legends but everything was either white or the textures left a white after image that won't go away. I need help with this issue because I can't seem to find it online. I just want to play Jurassic Park Hunter Legend but can't because of this visual glitch that I don't even know how to fix or what it even is.
Since these games are about exctinct animals I feel like having a winterized version of a Tasmanian tiger would be kinda cool, imagine shooting at a doggy and it opens its mouth unervingly wide while trying to take a chomp outta you
If you’re looking for mods, ModDB has most of the big names in Carnivores mods. For the vanilla games, I’d head to the Carnivores Saga Discord server, there are dedicated channels there to preserving safe downloads for the original games
In everything that is in far north...I think a few more mammals within the game that would fit in my opinion would be Elasmaterium, Basilosaurus, Megalodon, megalania, and procraptodon.😊

Yes, Carnivores 2+ is an older mod that slightly enhances the vanilla Carnivores 2 experience, but the Modder’s Edition Engine is a re-programmed engine with entirely new features, like aquatic AI, pack hunting, additional huntable slots, etc.
@@SaurianTarget Thanks for answering, i have another question, if you could help.Ive been playing Carnivores 2+ and i encountered some problems, trying to open the renderer for the maps, i solved this by entering into the nvidia control panel and setting it to open each map with the dedicated graphics card. this worked and solved most of my problems, but now i wanted to play the modders edition and found the same exact same problem, but i couldnt solve it through the control panel, the only workaround ive found is setting to open the map through the software rendering option, that also degrades the graphics. Any help would be well regarded.

It's an older game, less saturated and bright than newer ones

If you’re unsure, I’d hop on the Carnivores Saga discord server and download them straight from there. They’ve got a channel dedicated to downloads that are always kept up to date!
