  • The Freestyle Swordsman. Some crazy vids i made a few years back off the back of my martial arts. Katana (samurai sword), bokken and oak staff stunts.
    Sword stunts, tricks, forms and extreme martial arts from a few years ago.
    Something i made for a talent contest (hence the corny end).
    New song - The Last Memory of Man, by Defender

    Normally I don't have much regard for this kind of showmanship. Flourishes do not a swordsman make. But after watching this, I don't much care. This has merit for its own sake. Keep up the great work, Roach!

    Got to tell you, you look perfect in your moves (in my eyes).
    The precision and the smotheness of your moves do really impress me

    I'd just like to say that I, am an aspiring swordsman who's been training for years, and yet I am nowhere near as skilled as you are. I'd ask for lessons but I think I'm too stunned by how awesome this is to even comprehend myself, let alone anything else. You're the most amazing swordsman I've ever seen.

    Thanks again Roach. This has been my favorite swordmanship video since you put it out. I come back to it time and time again for inspiration. I miss the days when it had Hysteria as the music though.

    kodachi, katana, bo staff. attack, show, defense. damn man you've got it all.. nice work! unlike some of the 10 year olds that grab a $10 katana and suddenly they are masters.

    I love how you combined various forms of martial arts and really made it your own. instead of focusing on absolute discipline or finding the "ultimate martial art" as has become so incredibly trite, you take it in your own direction and just have fun with it, turning it into almost like a dance, which in the end makes it just as much an art as if you were the new Musashi. Way to go!

  • @DurealFirali
    @DurealFirali 17 лет назад

    You're really great and KenVert is one of the prettiest arts on our planet. What I like about you is that one can really feel your love for swordsmanship. And although you're probable one of the best at doing stuff like that, you don't show a tiny bit of arrogance unlike some other guys who call themselves great samurais just 'cause they strike (not cut) something in their backyard. Keep up this great project!

    Yes Muse! With swords! I'm a student of kum-do (the Korean version of kendo - the real Korean sword arts have been, for the most part, lost to history), and I'm really impressed (floored, really) by your skill. Congratulations, but you know as well as I do that such skill must continually be practiced and improved upon. Keep up the great work man.

    It hits you, while watching this spectacle, that while it is performed with remarkably entertaining value and it is fast and it is flashy and, yes , it is complex in a "trick-or-treat" way there´s still an important aspect missing. A very important aspect. The complete lack of grace, the body cant maintain its centre of balance and you often outstep your circle.

    very nice dude. Don't mind the folks who say you'd die in a real fight. Martial Arts, taekwondo and etc... are sports that people train and practice in. There are rules and regulations at tournament fights just like in football or basketball. When someone throws a ball into a hoop, no one says he'd get beat up in a fight. Its the same thing for martial arts.

    I recommend taking classes in them to build from a base, the more you learn of anything, the more you can build upon what you have learnt. Or check out Extreme Martial Arts, not a fan, but I can appreciate the technical prowess. I was impressed at the section between 2:05 - 2:15, flowed well and no unnecessary movements.

    samurai traditionally carried two swords as listed below, although not to fight with at the same time. In demonstration kata's it gets you more points as it is a harder difficulty. The type of sword used in real combat depended on the situation, Katana, Wakazashi, or Tanto (small knife). However some samurai did use a two sword style, the most famous example is the man considered to be one of the greatest warriors of all time, Miyamoto Musashi.
