I think my group is the only people I’ve heard that love Vagrantsong at 4 players. We’re set to play the last mission tomorrow. The amount of game you get out of that one box for a very reasonable price is unmatched for me. The story was fun & some of those boss fights had great twists & turns.

Thank you for the analysis, we’ve had Gloomhaven as our primary game, but Oathsworn was a really cool change of pace and we’re looking forward to where the story leads, great recommendation for those looking for a more vibrant world akin to KDM. Will need to check out Vagrant Song and Middarra.
I guess people's mileage will vary but my group (3 players) struggled with Chapters. I think we appreciated the elegance of the mechanics compared to the RPG version, but we felt the story and writing fell well short and my friend sold on his copy after we'd played through just a few of the chapters. Looking forward to playing the other games though; KDM has been on my wish list for years now.
Really loved vagrantsong after first 5 scenarios, but couldn't even care to finish it after 15. The bosses felt too much the same except for a few standouts. What hurt it most for me was that you could chose out of three doors which you wanted to go through. During the campaign you would have to do all three. Meaning the difficulty didn't really grow and because of this neither did your skills really. Just felt like going through the motions.
Interesting take - I have played a lot of the campaign and the early chapters may times but not finished it yet. Wondering if I have a similar experience.

I'd like to put in a valid concern for Flyos Games that makes VtM: Chapters. I have yet to play Chapters, but during their campaign they did ask for extra contributions. Retaliation (their newest campaign) they have yet to begin production and refuse refunds to backers, while having increased shipping approximately 4x what they advertised during the campaign. This is meant to remind backers to be cautious in their optimism. The game might be quality, but the company behind it does have something of a rough track record, at least thus far. Note: This is not attempting to hurt anyone with a negative review, just offering information out there so backers can make an educated choice.
I am currently playing Oathsworn ( about halfway through), alongside League of Dungeoneers with a few others that I dip into. I have Middara, but haven't got it the table yet. I did start playing Tainted Grail but haven't gone back to that in 15 months, so that is probably going to leave my collection. Almost all of my games are played solo as I only have one friend who is interested in playing.
I'm currently playing Middars, and I have played the full (original) Oathsworn. In the future, I hope you can add the new Tanares, Harakiri Blades of Honor, Malhya and Agemonia to these comparisons. -Toby

Have played chapters 1-2 of Oathsworn, like 7 LY into a KDM campaign, just played the tutorial for ISS Vanguard, and have made it through 2 scenarios of Frosthaven. Am probably 6 hours deep into Sleeping Gods. Made it to chapter 2 of Tainted Grail before I walked away and am now waiting for the upgrade pack before I start again. Have ATO, Sword and Sorcery, and Trudvang Legends staring at me from the shelf.
I’m slowly making my way through Oathsworn but I am looking for another campaign to go through after I’m done. I’m backing Dante inferno on gamefound right now but til that comes these are some solid options.
I agree 100% with KDM with gamblers chest, I have played multiple campaigns solo in KDM with expansions. But Gamblers chest made it too much work for 1 person to keep track of everything that is going on now, there are tons of added layers, that add a lot of fun mechanics, but for 1 person, it is just too much to keep track of to enjoy the game. I had to set KDM to the side while try to recover from my attempted gamblers chest campaign, with black knight shipping, I will be jumping back into the new shorter campaign, and can't wait to pull the beast of the box down and set it up again.
What do you think about the new Dante Inferno campaign game? Would you recommend it over Vagrant song or Oathsworn as a boss battler campaign game. I heard Dante Inferno is like an Oathsworn light. I have Vagrant song already but have yet to play it.

This is a good selection of campaign games. I have only played and only own vagrant song which absolutely love. I am thinking about backing vampires.

That game was not a hit for them. They played around 50 hours of it if I’m remembering correctly.
