While in Marine Boot Camp in 1966, we had a song we sang and marched to, to the tune of Scotland The Brave! The words to the song were Drums in my heart are drumming. I hear the Corp a coming. My Bonnie Gyrene Corp parading for thee. We fight the enemy on land, air, and on the sea. All for the honor and the glory of the Corps. We are the first ashore. Wading through battle gore. All for the honor and the glory of the Corps. We love the Marine Corps well, and all the rest can go to Hell. All for the honor and the glory of the Corps.
Thanks for that comment! I'd never heard of the tune being used with those lyrics, but then again I'm not a Marine. That iteration of The Angry Brians regularly performed The Marines' Hymn, but I don't know which, if any, of the band members were former Marines. The band's had some personnel changes in recent years, and I haven't seen them since those changes. Anyway, thanks for sharing something that I didn't know about, and many others probably didn't know, either!

I was in San Diego Marine boot camp in 66 and I remember singing that song also!
