- The New Vicmarc VL150 V2 lathe delivered, set up, introducing the Vicmarc Features on this unit and then turning a small Walnut bowl.
Very nice machines. Had the opportunity to work on one for demoing some years ago.
Awesome demo Ken 👍
Great job Ken!
Great demo Ken.
Good job. Questions, how big a bowl can you turn on it? I like that you can add extensions to each other, to make it longer. Looks like a solid lathe.
You can turn a 11.8" bowl on this lathe. One of my customers has said," it is a small lathe, but has the feel of a large lathe".
Gooday. You fitted the worm screw wrongly.
In the manual it says the worm screw goes behind the slides, not the jaws.
It should protrude only about 19 mm or 3/4".
Good tip. I also would like to add that a plastic ring should have been used between the back of the chuck and the spindle. This aids in removing the chuck.
By comparison with the rest of the machine those belt access doors and the belt change procedure seem a bit under-engineered - possibly not a major problem if the belt can be left in one position for most jobs, of course.
Yes the access doors are small as is the lathe is total size, however I have never had a customer say that this was an issue in the six plus years I have been selling this lathe.
What is the swing over tool rest measurement? How much is the lathe?
The swing over the bed is 300mm (11.81"). For more information, send me an email at ken@branchestobowls.com Thank you
