      Hello.
      No problem. After all these years and types of adventures we take I completely understand.
      Lucy has been a true blessing and a great travel dog.

      Thanks Dan.
      It won’t happen quick but we’ll eventually get it dialed in.
      Truthfully I think we may pass on the RTT, after all our travels I have an aversion to being stuck outside when the weather or conditions suck.
      The Lance 1475 looks nice for our type of working and traveling.
      Then a ground tent will work for times we go places that you wouldn’t tow a trailer.
      Hope you guys are doing well.

    Great vehicle.. But VERY expensive.. Oh who am I kidding.. If its got 4 wheels, you need a gold mine to afford it anymore.. Glad to see you guys doing videos again.. You're in my home town, San Diego, am in Las Vegas since 1996.

      I think of Toyotas like Lance campers, they are more expensive but a lot higher quality and hold their resale value.
      They had an identical 2021 on the lot with 40k miles and it was $7k less than brand new.

    Can't say I'm a big Toyota fan (I grew up in Detroit) but it is a very nice vehicle. The body of frame design actually gives a much better ride than a unibody. Have fun in your new rig guys. Keep the good stuff coming.

      I’m a Ford guy myself but in this case Toyota makes a fine machine.

    Cool rig, I have a 2014 4Runner SR5 with 170k miles, change the oil every 5k or 6 months, ignore the manufacturers 10k if you plan to keep it in high mileage. My favorite package though is the limited fl for the dual climate control and ride quality is far better than the SR5/TRD. One thing to point out is you’ll need an aftermarket kit to get 400 watts off the back outlet. It switches to 100 watts while driving, very annoying. What cargo roof rack system are you going with?

    • @outliersoverland
      @outliersoverland  Год назад +1

      Thanks for the tips, especially the insight about the inverter. We tend to keep vehicles for many years.
      About the roof rack, we really were not planning on buying a vehicle right now so I haven't looked at the accessories much. In reality, if we get one it will probably be sponsored so we'll take what we get offered.

    Don’t know if you checked but make sure it holds a full size spare. I just got a Subaru Ascent and was shocked it didn’t hold a full sized spare and if you wanted one you need to get a basket on top of your car to hold it. I didn’t think to ask up front as all the suvs I’ve owned all had full sizes spares. Had I known I would have bought the Toyota. I was looking at both and the Subaru was slightly less expensive so that’s why I went with it. 😑

      @outliersoverland  Год назад +1

      Some cars don't even come with spared now a days, just an expensive can for fix a flat.
      Thanks for watching.

    I see you bought it at Toyota of Las Vegas.. I assume you got a better deal coming up to Las Vegas than buying it at one of the San Diego Toyota dealers? If you don't mind, I'm curious what you paid for it, and what that great little AC set you back... Thanks!

    • @outliersoverland
      @outliersoverland  Год назад

      Yes, it was cheaper in Las Vegas and they are used to out of state buyers so we did not have to pay 9% sales tax (because we are Alaskans).
      They hit us with a number 5k higher than sticker, because if "dealer fees, window tinting, security system" type of stuff.
      I wasn't buying into that game, even though I know the car buying game has changed since the pandemic.
      So we paid sticker price and I negotiated in the 6 year 100k premium Toyota extended warranty.
      The air conditioner was a freebee for mentioning it in our video, but they are on sale for $1500.

  • @vicfanwi
    @vicfanwi Год назад +1

    Just make sure you change the oil every 5 thousand miles, and don't take the Toyota dealers recommendation of every 10,000 miles. Engines have been replaced because of that recommendation.

    • @ajd4408
      @ajd4408 Год назад

      If the oil is 100% synthetic 10k (or 12 mo) changes will be ok.

    Must you name every vehicle?

    • @outliersoverland
      @outliersoverland  Год назад

      When you spend months and years on the road traveling in a vehicle you develop a relationship with said vehicle and have to have something to call it aside from Fuso or 4Runner.
