I see from different videos that more and more, van lifers experience to be bothered, stalked, and scared in the middle of the night. I believe exterior’s camera and/or a remote light, and any other kind of security devices or tools are nowadays necessary. Be safe. People are crazy.

Too many vanlife utubers now. Especially solo females. The stealth factors gone now. People forget that everyone may have access to the videos on utube.including the mentally unstable. Jealousy and just plain old raunchy people will copycat attacks on people. And they know when they do attack, your not just being woken up,your literally being " Freaked up". Such actio truly is meant to Terrorize somebody. Such action can truly have major psychological effects on someone

Hi Brendan, you made the right decision for you, good call. Too many people ignore the dangers and push on, they're the ones who end having to be rescued. I think you need to invest in a proper heavy duty pair of walking boots, plenty of outdoor shops in Bakewell. Can't believe you got a tart and not the pudding, although personally I don't like either. As for night time trouble I find a shotgun normally sorts out any misunderstandings 😁 only joking. Take care out there, there's too many nutjobs lurking around

You should be OK with good boots, but the ice can get tricky, I've done Kinder Scout up near there a few times, and you don't want to be in the dark unless you are pitching up a tent. Better safe than sorry and you should always have a backpack with some extra water and clothing if it turns nasty. I've been up the weaver hills a few times I had cows rubbing up my vehicle and licking it strangely...

Just a thought maybe you could get a CCTV camera and screw it to your roof there's ones on eBay or Amazon that are solar powered and you can watch them live on your phone all's youd need to do is hotspot the camera to your phone or maybe some floodlights as added security.
    Keep the videos coming

You may want to carry a 900-mile laser pen pointer & a survival 6" blade knife to your hiking/camper kit as a defensive weapon. Tie your knife to a medium-sized tree branch about 4-5 feet long and you have a spare toward of any danger. The laser can blind any beast and be used for signaling.

Also, in the USA at least, the van lifers try to form Caravans, for safety in umbers and traveling together. Some join many different groups so if they dont want to go with this group somewhere, they can meet ip with othersand travel together. Perhaps it might be helpful if you do so as well? Dont have to tell on utube thats what you are doing, but you are with a group. Stay safe Brendan, your friends andyour family too

Yeh I think some external lighting is necessary mate 👍 yeh I guess there is an element of being hyper sensitive in a situation like that but there was definitely something weird going on with the spotlights etc. That road is literally in the middle of nowhere as well and for two vehicles in quick succession to go past around 1am is very unlikely.
