I thought I had already binged all your stuff Trent, but somehow I missed this one- and it's my new favorite! The little jokes that you work into each shot are amazing. The bunker looks great, and I also like the way you turned that paintbrush into a shiv! :-)
Love this, Trent. Great storytelling (which is something I think is hard to do when making this kind of video). I'd love to see your take on Elven terrain. Or a Hellscape :)
If you have a Dremel, or power drill, use two lengths of wire, tie them to something sturdy, then pinch the other end with the drill tip. Then wind the drill (not too fast). The two coiled wires can then be wrapped around the marker for an extra but if detailing.
Very good and detailed tutorials! Clear voice is also something that is not given on these kind of videos, good job! Being honest about making mistakes every now and then was a nice touch, atleast makes me feel a lot better about messing every now and then. Had to borrow some ideas from this. Subscribed!
weathering and battle damage can be used to hide gaps and 'mistakes' too, gap, uneven wall, wobble, now it's a fallen wall, half of a blast crater and some cracks
Great video my friend, you do some great builds. Also I really liked how you explained on how no matter what you see in the video it's better to just do it your own way. I thought that was great
A cool looking bunker, and very unique to the ways ive seen on other tutorials. Have you ever thought trying to make modular battle boards? Say six 2x2 board with hills, etc. I'm not sure if it would be something you're willing to do on your channel; it is a much larger build than what you usually show (and will require more resources), and doesn't include as much detail as you like to put on down, but if you have the time and material, I'd enjoy seeing what you can make
Hey thanks, yes I've thought about it and even started making one before scrapping it. I guess I'm not really sure what the benefit is of making a modular 2x2 squares has over boxes of scatter. Wouldn't it be more flexible to make modular hills and cliffs instead and that way you could place them anywhere. Also 6 2x2 squares take up a lot space while making a tables worth of terrain could fit on a storage container. Please let me know what you think, I'd love to be sold on it because I have a LOT of ideas to make inexpensive modular panels. Regardless, in future videos theres gonna be a shift from making just single pieces to making boards worth of themed terrain. So stay tuned.
there's no reason you couldn't put scatter terrain on the anyway, and you don't add just hills; you can add a river running through them, build a city scape with roads, etc. And if you go the route GW took with their boards, there is no reason your couldn't fold them up so they fit into a 2x2x1 space, and that's if you add hills 3 inches high on all 6 pieces. On the other hand, if you want to show off some of your ideas for modular panels, why not do a plain one, like a desert, grassland or swamp.
Gotcha. So the benefit of having the modular boards is you can detail the table too? Instead of just using a mat or painted table surface you can have real cracks, craters and inlay rivers and stuff, things below the surface? Edit: Okay leave it with me I'll see what I can come up with
I have found a much more relaxing way for the bases.. sometimes when drawing measurements are wrong (as you said) Word has an option for graphical details 1) Create a box 2) insert shapes (once they are in the box, you can exploit the sheet so you can save space.) 3 You know width and length down to mms, this saves additional work. 4) Create anything in minutes, and you can save it as word file and make a gajillion copies till you get your weird shapes you want Just my route ..that i havent tried yet
Yup you're totally right! This what I normally do, however I normally use Adobe Illustrator, I find the tools a bit more intuitive, but Word is a great idea too! For this video I wanted to show a design process just using basic equipment but in most of the other tutorials I have I work out the hard stuff already on the computer and make templates or get measurements from that.
Wow! Dude you make so many great models and buildings!!!!!?? Loved everything and the quality of the videos are so cool. Keep it up, And your channel deserve more than this.
The reason it didn't fit to the base was because of the angled cuts. You end up needing a thicker board because the angle makes the edge longer. The best way is to make your bits flush to the floor and then use a knife to run down the outside to make the overrun flush. Used to have these problems when I was a plasterer lol
Another fantastic video. I want to see you make the terrain that you think is the most enjoyable to build, or the more intricate/complicated builds. I favour the darker side of Sci fi, but I always learn something from your videos. Keep up the good work.
Your videos are so great, Trent! I love the music, editing, voice-over and really the entire style of your vids and channel. I hope you'll keep making them for a long time to come! I do have a suggestion, by the way: I'm running Curse of Strahd and I haven't found any videos of people crafting Barovian buildings. Any chance you'd want to take a shot at it? Anyhow, great channel and keep up the good work! Cheers!
Maybe you could try your hands on some snow/sand dunes that are playable? (models fit and stay on them?) Always awesome to see more of your videos. Your production quality and eye for shots is awesome!
Hi Miscast, great to see you back and with an awesome video. Have to say it again. Keep up the good work mate.

Thanks for another great tutorial. I love your cinematography and how you enhance your videos with effects. I'd love to see your interpretation of terrain pieces that would belong in a setting with Imperial Knights. Whatever that might be.
Modular terrain boards sound great. I started working on a video about that, but I'm still trying to find the best method without power tools. Leave it with me!
Wow, really inspiring video, I guess I know what I'm going to build next. But it's kinda hard to see a method like this for barbed wire... I always used copper wire for the barbs. A piece like this took me about 30 minutes... Well, good to know ;)
hi, just found your channel, like what you showed, generally I do mostly WWII, Korea, and Nam, the bunkers that I tend to make I just sort of use decent photos and then do a bit of math to square it up, LOL!, when I do the paint job, I normally use sponges to get that weathered look, but yours looked cool,oh, subbed btw. looking forward to catching more of your content.
ohh, almost forgot when I do the wire, I do the same trick you did, but I use thin white metal wire to make the knots, then give it the color I'm looking for.
Awesome! Thanks for tips, it's great hearing how other people do things, I'll try some of that stuff in the future I'm sure :) Thanks for watching, stay tuned for more! :D
Great bunker. Actually all the things you made are original and cool. I won’t be the alone asking this, but could you make more amazing stuff during the summer holidays? Take care!
I really love your style of video, Miscast! Other terrain videos are dull, boring and bland. Your music and little side-quirks add so much more interest; as well your audio quality! Great stuff and subscribed!
so - in relation to "making things too big" - just a quick Google search can show how fast things can go awry when not factoring in scale properly. So many swords out there that are longer than a Space Marine's body, for example. Even GW does this when making "combat blades/knives" that are not only much too big to be anything but large swords - when you think about it they would be impossible to even pick up for regular humans. I get that Space Marines are superhuman, but the combat blades aren't intended to be powerful assault weapons but instead melee backups. Even the new "Reiver" Primaris suffer from the "knives that aren't knives" problem. Well, that and their fail-mets (fail helmets) that look like they just got out of volunteering at a local haunted house for Halloween. I don't get how you could go from the Night Lords Terror Squad helmets to that - or from a Castellax Battle-Automata to the "Kastelan" CGI-Baymax-Bot for that matter.
I thought I had already binged all your stuff Trent, but somehow I missed this one- and it's my new favorite! The little jokes that you work into each shot are amazing. The bunker looks great, and I also like the way you turned that paintbrush into a shiv! :-)
i have no clue how this comment only got 2 likes me included....
"... and our bear hands."
... *smiles and hits subscribe*
I made it 69 whoop whoop!
your barbed wire inspired me. i didn't do anything like what you did but this vid was the source of inspiration. thanks for the brain food
Love this, Trent. Great storytelling (which is something I think is hard to do when making this kind of video). I'd love to see your take on Elven terrain. Or a Hellscape :)
Best how to make a bunker video I've seen online
I just appreciated pausing and reading your vision board, I am glad you still have your fingers!
While tedious, that knot tying trick was brilliant
If you have a Dremel, or power drill, use two lengths of wire, tie them to something sturdy, then pinch the other end with the drill tip. Then wind the drill (not too fast). The two coiled wires can then be wrapped around the marker for an extra but if detailing.
This is the method I used to use, but I think having individual barbs looks much cooler :)
The use of fishing line is truly inspired. It definitely gives the best looking Barbed wire that I have seen so far. Great job.
What an absolute mad lad. Providing excellent FREE tutorials on technically easy terrain from scratch. Subscribed

Great idea!
I really enjoyed watching your video, especially the fact that you kept in some small mistakes to show how you fixed them. Awesome! :)
Awesome video! Using fishing line to do the barbs on barbed wire is a genius idea. Can't wait for the next one dude!
Great video! It is 5mm foamcore, by the way. (0.5 would be half a millimeter)
Great video my friend, you do some great builds. Also I really liked how you explained on how no matter what you see in the video it's better to just do it your own way. I thought that was great
This barbed wire is the best thing ever? Thanx! I’m totally going to give it a try😊

Great video. I enjoy your content soo much.
The greatest thing for me though was pausing a1 1:52 and reading your rules. Awesome rules!
Another excellent video. I really appreciate you showing the entire process, from conception to completion.
I love the bear hands gag

Ah, brilliant. Thanks a lot mate!
I think a really cool idea would be to create like derelict or abandoned vehicles, like really aged and rusted, Half buried in the ground or something
Another fantastic video.
I want to see you make the terrain that you think is the most enjoyable to build, or the more intricate/complicated builds. I favour the darker side of Sci fi, but I always learn something from your videos. Keep up the good work.
There is a special cutting tool for cutting foamcore at 45°. I really can recommend it, if you plan to make things out of foamcore often.
Zorrrrrk oh? Please tell me more!
Nice work! You should do a snow themed one, like the Finnish Mannerheim Line bunkers from the Winter War of 1939 🙂
Your videos are so great, Trent! I love the music, editing, voice-over and really the entire style of your vids and channel. I hope you'll keep making them for a long time to come!

I love that you're not afraid to get paint all over your hands haha
Maybe you could try your hands on some snow/sand dunes that are playable? (models fit and stay on them?)
Always awesome to see more of your videos. Your production quality and eye for shots is awesome!
Nice work as always 😉👍 please do vid on modular terrain boards
These are excellent videos. Very high quality and informative.
Really cool to see your process. Looking forward to your next video.
You have no idea how happy you made me when I saw those bear hands.
Great, because when I forgot to cancel my stock photo subscription I made just for that gag it ended up costing me about $80 lol
Thank you for sharing. It’s fun to watch. Maybe I am wrong but foam should be 5 millimeters or 0.5cm thick ?
Yes.
the "shooty hole". Awesome.
Awesome vid. It gave me great ideas on how to do stuff.
Really love your work. Thanks.
Those barbed wires were really cool
Glad to see you back & uploading vids bro.
Thought of a suggestion;
Some modular terrain boards 2’x2’
Modular terrain boards sound great. I started working on a video about that, but I'm still trying to find the best method without power tools. Leave it with me!
Looks good!!! Your video is really high quality and enjoy your material
#4: be better than miniac :D
this is cause for war
Miniac oh dear
@@Miniac you could say it's a "dawn of war" hahaha haha I need a life
Qué material es el que usaste??? Foamy????
Creative, realistic and awesome job!
I had been missing your vibe! Also, hard agree on your channels' rules, especially for hot glue.
Wow, really inspiring video, I guess I know what I'm going to build next. But it's kinda hard to see a method like this for barbed wire... I always used copper wire for the barbs. A piece like this took me about 30 minutes... Well, good to know ;)
Miniac suggested to check you out. Best decision ever! Awesome work! Looking forward for more! Subbed!

Wait I’ve been watching for a couple days now and it just clicked that I feel like I know you in person.
Victoria?
Great bunker. Actually all the things you made are original and cool. I won’t be the alone asking this, but could you make more amazing stuff during the summer holidays?
Take care!
This is a old bunker cracks in the wall or floor would make sense
Awesome job!!
I really love your style of video, Miscast! Other terrain videos are dull, boring and bland.
Your music and little side-quirks add so much more interest; as well your audio quality!
Great stuff and subscribed!

Good work man and thanks for the video!
looks amazing you should do a human structure taken over by chaos
where do you get foam core in Oz? (5-10mm)
Spotlight sell it but there are wholesalers too

Maybe have a go at some fantasy terrain for AOS 2.0 ?
Awesome!
This is really good
Please make a Roman watch tower. 👍
Thank you! You always.make it.look so easy.
Bear hands...... My reaction? Lol'd and just said "so stupid" 😄👍🏻
Yay!!! New Vid!!! Thank you!!!!
nice job :D
what do You think about making a tower, for example dwarven or elvish or something like that? :)
Loving you videos! Could you do anything on Eldar terrain? I can't find anything good for it. I was going to try and make an Eldar crone world board
Cheers! I'd like too, but there's so many curves! I've just gotta find the best method first.
It's looking like new Warhammer Kill Team will bring a bunch of new people into wargaming. Hopefully they come here for there answers to terrain.
awesome channel I make my own stuff now
Good ideas and great video
Thanks!
pov: my favorite youtuber
Very nice terrains^^
Thanks!
Can you make a video, where you show how to make icicles and ice terrain? :D
Cool thanks you
Love your vids
Another great vid
Loved this video
Thankyou!
Really cool videos :)
My favorite hairy boy is back.
Chilled cow fan?
genius as always!
I love your videos!!!!
Awesome barbed wire
Looks hard, in so inspiring
Looks good, keep it up ( p.s plz make some more Xenos style terrain )
That's coming up soon, I just have to order in the right materials, but I have a lot planned, stay tuned!
Great video. But please revisit the metric system. Its 5mm not 0.5mm. Or 0.5 cm if you want. 🤣
Great, something else to keep me up at night. No wonder I had so many issues with my template, I was making everything 10 times too small! :P
Miscast Terrain i'm sorry. I just wanted to piint it out to you, so you can grow as a content producer 😀
looks like a WWII pillbox
Ive just subscribed.
Wow
Good, good
