That eagle turned out far better than I thought it would after you started adding the detailing, excellent tutorial. You've given me some ideas, thanks.
This is one of the, of not THE, best looking cheapo bunkers on RUclips. Thank you for the templates, I will build one myself over the coming weeks. This is awesome and exactly why I bought foam core to begin with. Keep up the good work, more subs WILL come. You deserve them!
Jay! Top notch, homeboy. I really like this a lot. Thanks for the pro tips. I'm already planning my next build in my head using your suggestions. Cheers, --Bo
Great video, and great model! One tip: When I need an angled/bevelled edge, so that two pieces of thick card (or foamboard) sit nicely at say 45°, I use a steel rule and then, instead of having the knife blade at 90° to the cutting mat, I hold it at angle. It works both ways: tilting the blade point away from, or underneath the steel rule.
i'm not brave enough for that method, I don't think I'd get a long with it well sadly, but for some people I'm sur eit is easier. It's a tricky thing to do though for sure.
Hey, thanks. I've tried to do a few different things. first, better footage in the first place and secondly, editing it so you see th ekey bits in real time, instead of fully sped up, it is more work but I think it is better. Thanks :)
@@TerrainMadeEasy Either way, this homemade one is ideal and looks the part! The average price of GW terrain is £40, and it doesn't even come painted! Fuck that for a cup of tea haha. I'll check out your patreon.
I think it looks really good Jay! I like the design, materials and the paint scheme. You took simple materials and made a great terrain piece. I have used Plastruct products myself and they are very good. They have a good selection of plastic sheets with various patterns molded into them. Thanks for sharing this, it was great to watch and learn from.
I always used the foam blocks out of different packages, the foam block in the package for say a coffee maker, and some bits to make terrain and bunkers.
@@TerrainMadeEasy I would but i sold it all off a couple of years ago. its not as useful as the board and you have to use the right paint, or it melts (maid that mistake) i made it look like melta hits so it worked out.
Built the one. Added another middle wall, left short wall, short left front wall, a second small roof, extended the back wall and I built a triple bunker. Same a yours with an bunker to the right and left of the center section!
I think the GW one is actually a bit small. From my research it felt like it wouldn't fit the new marines, so didn't feel bad about using their style. Thank you :)
If you want the terrain to last longer i would use epvc foam board, its a bit more expensive but its far stronger and you can and it to get a better finish
@@TerrainMadeEasy yea i use PVC pipe weld glue to stick pieces together. works similarly to plastic cement in that it melts the two surfaces and bonds them together. very strong
@@TerrainMadeEasy also EPVC doesnt get that dog eared appearance that foam board can if it gets stored and knocked around at clubs etc by less carful gamers
Good video! I hope Shooty Holes are copyrighted. Important stuff. How do you reckon it would look with edge highlighting and some drybrushing? a bit too fantasy?
I generally like highlighting by dry brushing but after I had done the wash, it just looked done. I think dry brushing would look decent but i'd have done it before the wash, and then a little after the wash.
@@TerrainMadeEasy What I’ve seen some people do for bunkers is build a “footprint” base that the bunker can sit on and slot into but which is barely visible - basically like a shoe; works great because you can put the minis on it and then slot the actual bunker over them without issue!
When you are working with PVA and superglue: apply pva to piece and get it into place, then apply superglue at seems. The superglue will instantly fix it in place, and you get the benefits of both.
I did consider adding battle damage, but I always seem to not do it, I think just personal pref. I do love me some Orks, hoping for some stuff in Orktober :)
@@TerrainMadeEasy pristine bunkers are great for Space Marine and all that. The bunkers will not look so shiny after the orks have taken it from them. 😜

I love your videos, thank you for making these, without you I probably wouldn't have gotten so deep into warhammer.
This is outstanding tutorial, short, easy, simple to follow to the dot. Thanks, will definitely utilize this.
I was worried this was too long! So happy you didn't think so. Thank you very much, happy to help :)

Keep this way.

This is so cool, love the video and the finished project. I'll have to give these a go. Thanks for sharing mate.

I think I'm actually going to use my Foam Works angle cutter for this! Finally!

Beautiful design I will absolutely be trying to recreate this! Subbed!
Thank you, obviously it is an inspired by GW design rather than say my own, but thank you :)

Too legit to quit! Heh thank you very much :)
"This is not an exact replica. Because, you know, I don't want to get sued". 😂 Brilliant.
and to be fair I am not sure I could have done it as well as GW, but I do believe theirs to be a little small! It was pre primaris marines!

A better method for making that aquila: I laminate a paper motif of that icon, cut it out and use it as a stencil.
Yeah I'm sure there are better ways! I just didn't know any at the time!
