      Thanks, I think you did some non square stuff on your add on versions, it all looked cool and very stable. If I am honest, I much prefer yours, these are sort of the simple lazy man's version of walkways! Which sadly I fit into.

    Very effective! I don't have storage space for terrain at the moment, otherwise I'd actually make this (with the depot pattern thing as the can look is a bit too noticeable), less nice than Wyloch's but *much* quicker to make, and more modular too.
    For the railings, the racket thing could also be used for this easily.
    And the tops are begging for some bits, guns, cranes or something.

    • @TerrainMadeEasy
      @TerrainMadeEasy  4 года назад +1

      Yeah I sort of see this as the outline of the concept. I could have done the card on the cans but really the platforsm mostly cover them when you are stood up looking fown.

  • @edevans5991
    @edevans5991 4 года назад

    I wonder if some stone texture spray paint on the foamboard before you put on the card might make up for not having the granny grating.
    In general, I love how your videos show how to get something that will make for cool battles without much investment at all.

    • @TerrainMadeEasy
      @TerrainMadeEasy  3 года назад

      I think you could do a textured spray, or even cover it in stippled mod podge and paint, and maybe go for a more rusted look. I went for basically pristine, which might not fit every board.
      And thanks, if I was to try and sum up the chasnnel at the moment, that would be what I am trying to do, I want people to think "I can do that" and actually do it!

  • @jyoungtechguy8625
    @jyoungtechguy8625 4 года назад +1

    Hotly anticipated, and you have given me some more ideas for how I want to handle this for my new table that is taking shape. If you want to go with magnets, I would avoid the sheet magnets as they are very weak, but I've been buying up itty bitty neodymium magnets recently on amazon for 10 dollars for a few hundred in different sizes. In the interest of getting a bit more texture on the platforms for painting, you could try either cutting through the card and exposing the foam in places, or giving it a thin layer of that filler stuff?
    Also... NO OSHA IN STAR WARS!!!! :D

    • @TerrainMadeEasy
      @TerrainMadeEasy  4 года назад +2

      Sure, I agree on the magnets. I could have made it work, but this method was just easier. And you are right about texture. So many things I could do, but just wanted to get this system out there.!

    • @TerrainMadeEasy

    Some great design ideas and concepts here. However for me personally I think that the final display looks just a tad too cheap. The cans and the bottle top are just too obvious :P I wonder what could be substituted to make it looks more fancy, or what could be done to better hide the materials used? Definitely some great inspirations to be taken away from this though as is how it is with the majority of your content. Take care dude and I look forward to more videos.

    • @TerrainMadeEasy
      @TerrainMadeEasy  4 года назад +1

      So for time saving in the video, I couldn't go into everything.
      The solution for the bottle tops would be to use something else! Either like a milk cap or you could even use a mini cid, to keep the profile low, anything will do.
      For the can, I have the fuel depot can design, which would help but take more time.
      It's designed to be an easy and versitile piece of terrain, it does compromise on quality a little for that.

      Agree on the iconic look of the soup-cans. You could clad them in thin cardboard or even xps-foam. Maybe a second an third dovel, straw or tube (look for "Stangenrohr" - I couldn't find a good translation) on the outside of the core-structure to simulate supply shafts. To pimp the end-cap put something on, a radio-dish, a statue ormiddle sized (techno)skull. You could also build another soup-can-structure from xps-foam, break it in two and add some of the pieces on your top platform to indicate that the structure used to be many levels higher.
