I have a 2004 Saturn Vue with the 3.5L Honda motor and AWD. It’s 0 to 60 time is quite fast, handles very well, and a hoot to drive, has been extremely reliable, and has not been expensive to maintain. My uncle bought it new, and sold it to me cheap in 2015 because he wanted a Jeep, and they offered a really low trade price. The car had only 114 thousand miles then, and now has only 136 thousand. It still looks great, even the interior looks almost new. Love it dearly! I can’t figure out how the instrument cluster is white in the daytime, but black at night? Some kind of magic going on there!
I owned a 2004 Saturn VUE, bought new. Had to get rid of it because where I live they use salt to treat the roads and the front end was severely rusted.
Broke my heart to get rid of it because the rest of the car was still fine. Probably the best car I ever owned! Miss my VUE.
I’ve been wanting to get one of those too who knew they’d put a Honda motor in a Saturn!
I'm sure all the chick's flock to the vues at car shows😂
I have an 04 Vue Redline, bought it about 3 years ago with 45K it has almost 80K on it now. Great car
@@corbinhopkins5109 35k miles? Any car would be fine doing that over 3 years... I put that on my prius every 10 months
The steering on these is actually quite good for what it is. Along with the supercharged Cobalt SS they were great fun for young enthusiasts.
And the HHR SS if you want the oddball choice.
I had a saturn ion, had the manual transmission, sold it to my brother with 273,00 miles on it after he wrecked his car and needed something until the insurance settled. That car was fun to drive, and the plastic body parts didn't rust. I think i see it running around town, ya don't see a lot of them. I love it when you buy these old blasts from the past. G-d bless.
I see alot of these running about my town. my Ion has 190K miles and has 160 psi of compression. strong motor, strong 5 speed trans
My brother bought a base model manual ion for a commuter/work car. It finally died at 350,000 miles when his brother in law totaled it on the Los Angeles freeway. Amazing car and he had no problems at all.
I drove one of these at a GM track event and was pleasantly surprised how much fun it was. Not a good looking car but a great car dynamically.
I did the same thing! It was at Gillette Stadium, 2004 and 2005
THIS is what we wanna see on the Channel: JR bringing rare and quirky cars back to life!
The problem is finding them.
@@ezman100I don't know about that they are pretty plentiful on marketplace
I knew of the Redline Saturns. Underrated.❤
Thank you for the Redline video! I still own my 2006 with 42k miles on it. So there is one more version that is extremely rare. They made a version called the Competition Package. Came with a limited slip diff and a boost gauge with ladder tach. This is my version with the factory stage two tune that I dynoed at a 90hp gain. It is a blast to drive with the extra power!
You should record a video of it!
@@Winner3tyI need to take the time to do that!
@@cypresscustoms Nice! let me know when you do. I really like those red lines, I daily a 5 speed ion, not super interesting but its been good to me at 190K miles.
I own a 06 redlime comp as well. Awesome little cars. Unfortunately for Jr the 04s are finicky
@@AUG420 good to here there is another survivor out there! 06 is the best year!
I bought a 2005 ION3 and loved it. Simple, noisy and plastic everywhere. My oldest got it with 225K and drove it through college till he was rear ended and insurance totaled it. 38mpg all day, every day. It wasn’t without its flaws though. 3rd gear synchro went out and we did a scrap yard swap and new clutch. Loved that 5 speed manual. Suspension components in the front all died by 60K and it ate ignition cylinders annually. Saturn replaced 2 under warranty and I did another 3. It also ate coil packs which are all 4 in one unit. Easy to work on and fun to drive.
I have a 2006 Ion Redline with the Comp package. Love the car
FYI the window moldings are original to the car and they do that from the sun alone. Just about every Ion (base, QC, Redline) does this. I was lucky enough I found brand new replacements at 100 each but they are getting hard to find now. That applique on the door also flew off easily
TIP: replace the plastic bushing on the pedal. Will make the clutch feel like brand new
Hey, I was working in the Spring Hill Saturn plant when that one was built! How cool. I guess I helped with the paint at some point, I was working in the paint shop.
Nice to see the REDLINE getting some love.
I Still have my 2004 Ion Redline. 200,000 mile strong and I love it. I am retiring it next year from a daily driver to be my project upgrade restoration. Mine is Black. I have been looking for that Stage 2 Supercharger upgrade for years now. Cant find it anywhere.
Notes:
- My electric stealing never had any issues
- The Grill was an accessory add on, it didn't come stock for some reason. I do have the Grill
- Sadly, parts are hard to come by. I have thought about buying a used beat up one just to have a parts car.
- The window wiper trim did that to mine too, i had to replace them
- I LOVE the gages in the center
- Having the battery in the trunk is awesome. Able to jump from front or back, easy to add a sub woofer and the battery is protected and nice to have the space it opens under the hood.
- The audio cabling is messed up in the car. I took the amp out and just have a better head unit. I had to bridge and splice. I still have the audio wiring diagram if you want to do some upgrades. I can send it to you.
Ill be following your restoration on this. Thanks for showing the Redline in the spotlight again.
in my 2004 base model ion my electronic power steering sometimes acts up, on the dash it says pwr str if I recall and all steering assistance is lost. but it always clears itself after I cycle the key so I don't really worry about it.
ZZP and send the S/C to Josh Billheimer at Category Port Worx for porting/polishing. I had mine set up for 270 hp at the wheels on 93.
I have a 2006 IRL that I LOVE! I use it for Autocross on a regular basis and have done HPDE several times despite it having nearly 200k miles on the stock engine and trans. Great to see one being given some love. Saturn only made less than 7,000 of these Ion Red Lines so they are indeed becoming more and more rare.
Fun car, that ecotec was a surprisingly tunable engine. I recall them being pretty rare even back in the early aughts. Love the call out to SRT, Redline, SS, everyone was coming out with something.
I gotta comment on this ! I still work at gm in Spring Hill tn and I was only about in early 20’s when these where being built at Saturn back then and they looked so cool we would obsess over them sitting around everywhere this blue was also my favorite color ! Super rare cool find John Ross . 9:23
Both those bumpers are repairable .
Remove the rear bumper and heat it up from behind with a heat gun in the affected area.
You should be able to get most of it back into shape, then it’s up to you if you want to refinish the exterior face of the bumper with some sort of flexible ‘Bondo’
The front one can also be plastic welded from behind & refinished, but I guess it depends whether you actually want to spend time doing the repairs rather than spending a small fortune buying replacement panels.
Hey JR, you got me. I was sure you were going to scrap it for parts. I'm happy that you want to try to fix it.
These had a pretty good showing in SCCA races. Was fun to hear them coming with the supercharger screaming.
OK I guess JR read the comments about not everyone being able to relate to supercars! Love this!
Supercharged Saturn should be a blast to drive, watching now
So happy to see somebody, anybody pay these cars some respect! I absolutely love mine! I saw one at the Dayton Auto Show in like 03' I think, not on sale yet, and instantly fell hard! I bought mine new in Oct. 04' and it's been my little go-kart of a car ever since. I was 24 and just out of school and just had to have one! It just has a personality and it's so weird it was a perfect fit for me! I grew up a proper gearhead. My folks had their own toys. Dad had a Corvette and my mom had a very clean ragtop Beetle. This Saturn was my daily for years, but now it's lovingly garage kept and still very clean. I've really just done regular maintenance, brakes, suspension, and oil changes. It does have a nice stainless cat-back exhaust and a CAI. Front stabilizer end links are a common issue, those were replaced. Intercooler pump replaced, and it will soon need a clutch, but it's very much my baby, LOL. I've had it for nearly 20 years and with just shy of 80k original miles I plan to have may more good times with this car! Such a sleeper and soooo unique! Enjoy yours, good sir! =)
You could get the GM's version of Hoovies dream BMW fleet. That would be a non boring car goal and probably cheaper... then you need a Cletus track..... hmmm if only they could start in minus 10C I would still have mine prolly
Man I totally agree with you, I always say that the peak of the automobile was the late 90s into the mid-2000s. Cheap performance cars like this are my jam
I worked for LKQ/Keystone for many years. We remanufactured and repaired OEM plastic and poly bumpers. That front bumper looks repairable with some heat and plastic welding. I agree with you the redline Saturns were very cool.
I miss Saturn. They may not always had made the greatest cars, but they were practical and affordable. I had a SL1, and the car was a solid daily driver until I wrecked it at 170k. Also, those swing doors they had with their coupes were pretty cool.
I love those cars so much!! A blue one just like that car (a 2004 as well) just popped up on marketplace by me. They wanted a little over $2000. It had a bad clutch and suspension. I think it had around 170k. Super cool looking car. It was clean on the inside and had the spoiler!! It sold relatively quick though. I’d love to have had it
being a multiple Saturn owner, I love this! The factory all forged internal 2.0l LSJ is a BEAST! It has a Getrag trans to boot. The handling differences you were mentioning were the thicker 22mm sway bar and the stiffer aluminum FE3 control arms and struts
I just mentioned about the LSJ being a crazy engine on another comment. I hope to feature one on my channel @rustedrides one day. Would love a cobalt ss or something to swap an LSJ into!
I was a Saturn tech from 1997 thru 2001 at a Tulsa Saturn dealer, aside from some trim pieces, mechanically they were pretty solid, engine or trans failures were pretty rare. The biggest failure I'd seen in one was a motor home was flat towing one... in first gear, talk about completely cratering the engine and transmission, easily 1/3 of the engine and tranny was missing, scattered along some road around Tulsa around 2000.
You and Hoovie both got cool supercharged mid 2000s heroes today. Two cars I love.
they should get married
@@SixWheelsDownright hoovie is the reason his channel blew up...but he deserved it
@@SixWheelsDown you would like to see two dudes go at it, huh.
My first car was a Saturn Ion, so nostalgic for me. I didnt have a Redline though because I was 16 and would've gotten killed.
That sounds about right lol. Just like when I first started driving in the mid eighties and nobody’s parents would get them a Mustang 5.0 because they were guaranteed to wraparound a phone pole with all that torque and that ancient rear suspension setup 😂
I worked in a Saturn parts dept from 2006 to 2010. Steering column motors and ignition switches were probably the two most common failures in the Ion. Also, the competition package Ion Redline had a lsd, which was great untill you holeshoted the car too hard. I saw two come in with the diff pin chucked right through the transaxle.
I spent some time behind the wheel of brand new Ion redlines and owned one for a while. They really are a lot of fun, and the supercharger sounds awesome!
I just sold my 04 Redline this past summer! 63K miles, lots of mods and new parts, 9 out of 10 condition! I miss it now. The 03 quad coupe was my very first new car, and was my favorite car I've ever owned.
i have an 05 ion redline comp edition and i love it. i built the motor in it with forged rods, forged pistons, arp head studs, and put i K04 turbo on it, tuned on e-85 28 pounds of boost and it makes 435 to the wheels and it is still an amazing car, surprisingly only has 116k miles on it. love these cars with a passion and love working on them.
The main, major issues the 2.0 LSJ had, were the timing guides and the timing chain tensioner. I had the Cobalt SS, and a timing guide snapped off of one of the bolts and bounced around in the head, you can guess the rest. But other than that, excellent cars.
I miss my redline. I went through 3 power steering motors, but it was still an absolute blast to drive with a few mods!!
Crazy to see you get one of these love it!!
I bought mine a few years ago, 04 in black, and used the video yoh made fixing your buddies one like 5 years ago to help fix mine 😅. It was a complete sh**box (previous owner did not disclose anything) and still is! But the most fun when i don't have issues. Excited to see you fix er up and maybe do some stage mods?? 👀
I have an 06 same color with 164k sitting in the driveway right now ,still runs strong,my suggestion when doing the clutch is gmpp upgrade kit,the stock kit barely holds stock hp,excited to watch you restore this rare sleeper
I have an 06 Saturn Ion Redline, also wingless. Yours being an 04 will be a bit challenging, since there are a few parts that were only used that one year, like the pass side intermediate shaft. Great car none the less, small but helpful online community and still good aftermarket support for these cars. Looking forward to seeing your car get cleaned up, good luck!
I suspect the higher performance tires improved steering response. What a cool and under appreciated car.
Yes, dropping $1,000 on tires makes all the difference in the world
I had one with a tvs blower. Had another kid and moved into a HHR SS.
You meant it when you said no more boring cars. I'm here for it.
I bought a dark blue 2008 Vue Redline. Only reason we sold it was because the lower seat was too damn short and my legs would get tired even on the shortest of drives. The seats were very snug like Recaro's but it needed an extra 2+ inches on the lower seat to make them perfect. Sold it locally to a woman who was selling her 2004 Anniversary GTO. I ended up with a 2010 Chevy Equinox that I still drive to this day and has been featured a few times on Rainman Ray's YT channel. 175K miles strong.
I had my 2004 silver ion red line until last year. I was the second owner and originally bought it in 2005. I also owned a 2005 Cobalt SS supercharge and 2008 Cobalt SS to recharged. Loved all three
I have had numerous Saturns. I have had 7 Saturns total over the years, between the S- Sedans, L-Series, and my favorite Vue. I loved all of them. Never had an Ion.. perhaps one day.. the Ion Coupes are great looking. Such an easy car to fix, easy to drive, the S’s loved oil though. Haha.
Depends on how they were taken care of. my ion doesn't consume any oil at 190k, exhaust rotted off though. still are some aftermarket solutions for the ion though!
JR, MORE CONTENT LIKE THIS PLEASE. OLDER UNIQUE CARS. CAME TO YOUR CHANNEL YEARS AGO WITH THE FORD EXP. THOSE WERE THE DAYS.
I married into an Ion coupe, 2006 model? The radio was replaced at every oil change as the clock would always drift. GM claimed the problem was fixed on each new radio, but it never worked out. The driver's side carpet would also have several inches of water after every rainstorm. I checked every drain line for the sunroof and finally found one that was never routed outside of the car.
The gas mileage was not bad, but it wasn't great. I'm sure being automatic did not help.
The car was traded in for a Honda Crosstour, nearly twice the car in all aspects (size, comfort, handling) and better mileage!
I bought a 2005 Ion redline brand nee red in color. Loved it , used to love beating 350z's which came out in the same time. They also had an option with a factory boost gauge with shift lights. Loved when you open the hood it said GM Performance division and the headlight could be removed with just 2 pins. It was unique in my opinion. All the Saturn window trims would shrink from the sun. Mine had the factory high spoiler.
Been a Saturn devotee since they came out. Owned a '96 twin cam with all available options including the illusive sub woofer. Then owned two LS3 wagons. My favorite was the 2000 in dark green with gold pinstripes and a tan interior. And with the V6 it went like stink! Great cars and a great business model. Gone too soon. I enjoy my almost new Silverado LTZ, but the Saturns were special.
One more upper trim level..Competition package....my son has one. Not sure as to when that package came along
Test drove an ion redline back in the day. A light little car with 200+ hp, it was fun and snappy for what it was!
I bought an 05 Ion Redline brand new when I got my first job. Mine was black. It was such a blast to drive. I wish that I still had it. If I recall, it used the Getrag Saab gearbox. The engine was a 2.0 supercharged 4 cylinder (rated at 205 hp). It was horrible in the Buffalo winters, so I traded it for an 07 Vue 5 speed (no where near as fun).
If it have Saab FM55/57 5-speed manual, the clutch is also big problem on Saab. Pressure plate do not have enough clamping force, so the disk slips. Good upgrade is OG9-5 Aero (240mm) clutch kit, it have same disk but pressure plate have much more clamping force. It is plug&play install (If have singe-mass flywheel, dual mass not) and can handle over 450Nm of torque (stock low pressure models "small" clutch" can only handle 300Nm, 2.0T Aero "Big Clutch" around 330-340Nm which is also too weak simple ecu tune).
I don't recall this model ever existing. Drove a Cobalt SS when my friend's wife sold cars and thought about buying, but a Chevy short bed ended up as my ride.
dude its like an angry looking honda insight from the front
Hope to see you follow through and fix/finish this car and a good detail.
GM's benefits of buying Saab, the Ecotec 2.0T. Saab had their hands all over the design, to make sure it could handle high boost and still run 200k miles effortlessly. My 05 9-3 was tuned to 18psi and I beat on it regularly for about 70k miles. Sold it with 208k still running great, with over 210psi cold compression on all 4 cylinders, which is STILL WITHIN the factory spec.
Now that I got to put my hands on an ION with the 2.2 ... I enjoyed fixing up one with my son.
I went to the GM "Auto Show in Motion" one year when it was in our area, and got to test drive one of these on a track a few times. They were actually a lot of fun.
I really miss those shows, they were a lot of fun. I went two years, once in Orlando and once in Tampa.
The most memorable cars that I drove were a 1st gen, possibly 1st year CTS-V at the Orlando show and a Hummer H2 that they built a huge dirt mound for climbing in Tampa. I’m not an off-roader, that hill climb was terrifying.
I did fall in love with that CTS-V.
@brian5o manual CTSV was fun too!
@@fomocopowersgarage7103 It definitely was! By far the favorite car I drove. If course they had a GM person in the car with my friend an I that took it out and he was pushing me to drive it a lot more aggressively that I wanted to. I ended up stalling it.
My friend that was with me at the time never lets me live that down. I did want to drive the car a bit spiritedly but didn't want to flog the car which is what the GM guy was encouraging me to do.
To this day, I REALLY want a 1st Gen CTS-V. What an awesome car it was!
I always loved the suicide doors on these.
A collection of all the 2000s factory supercharged cars would be epic. Gtps, redlines, lighting etc etc. That would be an awesome and affordable lineup
I'd like to see this happen! And as far as the ion redline and the cobalt ss. That LSJ engine is so overlooked. It's a weapon! You can actually get sooo much out of that engine!
All of your vids are exceptionally good but I've been waiting for part two of the Equinox.
It’s coming, had to make room for it in the shop 🍻
I'm still rocking the affordable performance car lineup to this day.
Started with a 2001 Dodge Stratus R/T coupe. Then got the 2008 Cobalt SS T/C. Then a 2014 Fiesta ST. Then a 2018 Focus ST which I'm currently driving.
That's a nice lineup!
my old toyota yaris/vitz d4d model that goes fsr 1999 2005 they also had an electric motor for the servo on the steering column. so it was nothing new there :-)

Had a buddy in highschool whose dad bought the redline when I came out. So much nostalgia.
I had forgotten about these cars.. I looked on my marketplace and danged if there’s not a dark blue one with the wing that’s been tuned in Culleoka Tn for $3950.00… Pretty fun little cars!! Stay blessed @Jr
My friend bought exact car new in '04 and I had new '04 SRT-4 (also blue). Cool cars, a blast to drive. I liked the Redline's seats better than my viper-styled seats. But stock-for-stock, my SRT-4 was noticeably quicker/faster. Still love the Ion Redline!
Oh an SRT-4 will eat the Ion/Cobalt's lunch 🥪
Reminds me of high school circa '06, Redline, Cobalt Ss Supercharged, Tiburon Tuscani, Rx8. They also came in black, red and silver.
My wife got a new job around 2001 and wanted a new car. She liked the look of the Saturn SUV at the time, but she decided against it when she found our they didn't make it with power seats.
Great thing about these, even though reasonably rare, is that RockAuto has TONS of parts at cheap prices. You can also get performance upgrades (suspension, clutch, engine upgrades, CAI, etc) from ZZP Performance. The Delta Ecotec Platform (Cobalt, IRL, HHR and G5) is one of the specialties of ZZP.
I was one of those 5800 to buy one of these new. I think I bought it in 2004 from the dealership where my uncle worked. It was definitely a fun car.
You're right. I completely forgot they made those cars. I bet Randy @AAR is screaming take my money. 😅 It seems right up his alley too.
I have had 4 Saturn's and the most fun one was the 1992 SC2 that had the flip up lights and I did 110mph in it and it was so fun. I have had 2 Ion's and a Outlook and that had an amazing ride and got rid of it because it was only 2wd and need AWD being in MN.
Featuring now 20-year-old 00's cars is a great idea, 80s/90s cars are all over YT. Some still think 1995 was "20 yrs ago", not anymore.
I would have to say the best part is the "Full Pedal Package". I still love'em!
My wife had a Saturn Ion when we got married. It had the standard 2.2L Ecotec and a 4-speed slushbox w/ overdrive. It was a really good car but I can only imagine how much better it could have been with a proper gearbox.
Two smoking deals back to back. Congrats sir. As far as the Redlines, loved all of them and by extension, always wanted an Aura - a true sleeper!
The EPS failed three times in my brother-in-law's HHR and yes he replaced with OEM ones not cheap ones. Good idea but in classic GM fashion they had found a way to mess up the execution....
Funny thing is if you got the Cobalt ssor the ion redline LSD was an option you always knew right away because all the Cobalt SS LSD cards have recaros the normal cobalts have the color mashed interior interior AKA red in the middle yellow or I think blue that's how you can tell right away and it was called the performance pack
Hey JR, I'm located right down the street in OKC, and I have owned 2 of these this past decade. Absolutely loved these cars. I know you normally sell these after you fix them. So consider me interested when you're ready to sell it. Alternatively, if you're interested in another unique or "cool" 90s car, I have a 99 Ford Contour SVT with 113k miles that I'd be more than willing to drive up your way and offer as part of a trade. Might make a few cool videos fixing up some of the minor stuff that I never got around to. LMK, been a 5 year subscriber, love what you do man!
I bought a 2004 Ion sedan brand new for slightly over $10,000 with the GM employee discount (I worked for EDS.) It was nothing special but the 5-speed was nice to shift and I drove it 185,000 miles and got pretty much 40 mpg the whole time. If I had known that the plastic chain tensioners were weak on these I would have replaced them in time and driven it another 150,000.
I daily drive a 2004 Electric Blue Saturn ION2 that just broke 200k last month. I've always wanted a Redline but settled for a Cavalier LS Sport 15 years ago because they still wanted too much for them. Over the last ten years driving the daily I have grown to like the gauges offset because lighting can be distracting in front of the steering wheel. The button delete on your dash is where electronic traction control is located on base models. Six years ago my dream became reality and bought a 2006 Chili Pepper Red Redline Competition Package for under 5k$ and has only been driven 116k miles. For the model year only 641 produced were comps, and of that only 260 were red making it quite rare. Comps run stock around 240hp but this car is running some aftermarket goodies and tune and assuming its making 260hp. I'm hoping to get a dyno eventually. By the way the blower used in these are M62 that GM used a lot in the W-BODY cars. The infamous window door trim shrivel.. They all do that at some point and they're going for around 150 dollars these days!
You mentioned SRT, SS, GXP and Redline but don’t forget SVT (ex SVT Contour and SVT Focus)
We had an SVT Focus (well Eric did) it was a blast too 💯
I have a 2005 saturn ion with a 5 speed the thing is claped out you could say it's not terrible. It's got the same issue with the wipers for the windows and the drivers side mirror is held on with 3 wood screws 😂. Back drivers taillight is cracked. However, it has almost 200k miles on it and it has working a/c and runs like a champ.
These cars are easy to convert to Turbo and that engine can take a ton of power. There are conversion kits to make a 6 speed too. Saabs shared the same front knuckles too.
I had a 2004 Saturn Ion quad-coupe (not a Red Line) in SubLime (bright green with gold fleck paint) with a CVT I bought in 2006. It had fog lights (the blanking plate near the dash light switch on yours), traction control (the blanking plate hear the hazards), auto headlights, everything but the 6-CD changer. I traded it in 2021 with a little over 124,000 on the clock because it was starting to really fall apart on me. Replaced the fuel lines, brake lines, had to get a new (used) steering rack, and it still needed rear suspension, oxygen sensors, and some bubbles of rust were appearing on the hood. It was a fun little car, but it got to the point where I was throwing too much money at it to make it feasible. Best of luck with your Red Line!
The early Cobalt SS came supercharged until it went turbo in 2008. They were fun cars. They even made a HHR SS with the cobalt engine.
I have one of these. Same color, same year. Mine however is an inadvertent unicorn. My Father bought it new and basically stuck it in the garage as an occasionally driven plaything. When I bought it, it had 8600 miles on it. Given what I had ended up with without realizing it. I became it's preserver. Currently it has 10,700 miles on it. If you ever want to get the feel for a "new" one. Let me know.
I had a red 06 Redline Comp Package. I really loved that car so much. Sold it to but my 2012 Regal GS. I couldn't have 2 cars while still living at my mom's house lol
btw as an ion owner you have to slam the back doors if you noticed the back door wiggled at 4:30 when you closed the front door which means the back door isnt fully latched
0:36 The 2000s were not the beginning of the "value performance" concept. Back in the late 1960s BMW had the 1600 and the 2002 which arguably STARTED the concept of the affordable sports sedan. The 2002 is what eventually led to the venerable and famous 3 series, the benchmark for the common man's sports sedan in the 90s and 2000s, maybe even now..
The 2.0 is the same as 2.2 and 2.4 but stronger internals. I have a Balt SS got from Cobalts.Minor issue w clean papers, Quick as heck gets good gas miles. Straight 3" piping and boosts to mid 20's. Sucks didn't have limited slip as the torgue steer is terrible !! SS badging was off and leaving it. People swap the 6 speeds in it.
4:19 The Saturn Ion coupe was only available as a quad coupe, never a 2 door like the pre-1999 S-series coupes.
I had a 2003 ION 3. The black trim on the window wipers did the same thing. Always kicked myself for not waiting a year to get the Redline.
Saturn went out of business back in 2009 and so did the commercial cleaning contract.
i had an 04 grand am with the monsoon radio, it also had an amp in the trunk.
Sound System: If it's only putting out treble, there's a short somewhere.. Either it's shorted to chassis ground or something internal within the amp.
Seeing Red LOL... sure for Redline, what about the 2000's song though? Unwritten Law, wasn't it??? 🤣
I've had two 2008 HHR and both had the same EPS motor. That thing is a beast until it starts to fail at random times.
I'd love to see you do a "light restoration" on this one! WatchJRdobodywork
Looks like the same Eaton M-45 supercharger that GM Performance had available for a short period for the 2.4 TwinCam (the late Oldsmobile Quad 4) for the y2k through 2002 (?) Sunfire GT and Cavalier Z24 (pre-Ecotec motor).
