- Guys! What if I made a super smart general AI programmed to end humanity? That’s right, robot apocalypse baby! I call it “The Terminator Plan”.
My amazing supercomputer, also known as SC, came up with a couple of scenarios about what an intelligent AI could do that sound deadly! Deadly to you, of course, not to me.
A general AI is the hypothetical intelligence of a machine that has the capacity to understand and learn any intellectual task that a human being can. And here’s the kicker - because of its objective thinking the AI could decide that humans are making the world worse and kill you all!
There are so many options to choose from: Would the AI provoke a third world war, or would it just take action into its own hands and gain access and take control of the world’s weapons systems, security networks and more? The possibilities for a robot take-over are endless! I’m a genius, you guys are doomed. All hail the robot apocalypse!

Sure, ai wouldn't be the end of humanity. But I remember the argument along the lines of if farmers had robots that they didn't have to pay that they just stop innovating. The whole slavery vs paid workers debacle. In the south, when the plantation workers first imported the slaves. The workers that were there prior, including the indentured servants were all promptly fired and thrown out on the streets. And later when the indentured servants couldn't meet their payments, because they had lost their jobs. The people they owed money to, promptly would just murder them and take what little they had left as compensation. Which there was no shortage of people willing to do that for the rich and wealthy because of the high unemployment.
When computers became cheap enough for companies, and the goverment to be able to afford one everywhere. There were lay offs everywhere. There are less jobs now then there have ever been before.
An advanced ai, that automates most white callor jobs. Would only result in over 76% of that population of workers dying off. No one is going to be bailing those people out, because why would you bail out the people who already threw you under the bus years ago? Billions are going to die from this.
I like the way you think. How could SC forget about that? Well maybe it was one of the possibilities she showed me when I was falling asleep.
@@thisistheEnt There is also the problem where as society become more dependant on ai to complete tasks they used to be able to complete with ease out of high school. Their brains will atrophy due to the lack of stimulation of the challenges they used to get out of life. And they'll just become dumber for it. Like how most people can't solve basic math problems in less then 5 mins without a calculater anymore.
And that could end up an reason Ai ultimately would decide to kill all of humanity on its own. As everything that separates man from any other animal would be quickly taken away from it. That and the rich and the wealthy of a society might order it to do so, just to save a few dallors.
