- A whale collided with a boat off the coast of Portsmouth in New Hampshire, causing it to capsize, and the whole thing was caught on video. CBS New York's Lonnie Quinn spoke with the fishermen who were thrown off that boat, and two brothers who jumped into action.

My uncle (aunt’s husband) had a huge mechanized harpoon like the kind Norwegians and Japanese still use today, but all rusted up.
Apparently that’s all it takes. One or two of those.
I was just a kid back then, but those harpoons looked massive, and heavy too!

Those boats are loud and they are taking fish and leaving lines in the water. Seems like a natural response.

Can you please tell them the truth? This is NH. The whales are going crazy from the continued Humm of the wind turbines and the floating fiberglass that's in the water from the failed turbine and the oil & fuel slicks from the wind turbines themselves. You really need to start telling the truth. Cover how Shell and Chevron are backing out of the Ocean Wind Turbine and selling these to the next highest bidder because of the Wind turbine failure rate. Also, huge amounts of debris and fiberglass were washed ashore and was also found in the fish.

Almost Always humpback whales are involved boating mishaps because they enjoy breaching and people like to watch a whale come out of the water. Because humpbacks are the most exciting acrobatic whale, they have the reputation of being the most exciting whale to watch, making all the other whales relatively boring. The killer whale ( big dolphin) seems to be the only “excitement level ,” rival to the humpback as far as aqua gymnastics.
And my Inuit friends will have them for dinner too, though I doubt they’d try anything that big

Protection of young? I don’t think so. Now, Orcas do go after ship and boat rudders all the time near Gibraltar … but the crews never seem to be prepared properly for the attacks.
Legal or not, if it were a matter between you or the whale, I’m sure you’d also see the need to prepare properly when in dangerous waters
