John Deacon (bass player) played guitar on the studio version & Brian (guitar player) has said he gets frustrated every time they play it in concert because he can't get the guitar sound quite right. He said it's a combination of how John strums & the settings of the guitar John used.
Since you're doing studio 1st, check out Don't Stop Me Now. Scientifically proven to be the "happiest song written".

You need to see them perform live on Live Aid 1985 to see true showmanship with a 20 min set . They stole the whole show and Freddie just had the crowd eating out his hands .

Not many had a stage presence like Freddie Mercury's Queen album News of the World was the first album I bought with my own money as a teenager
Was actually MJ who told them to release this as a single when backstage when he saw them do this live n so they did!! 😉 they actually collaborated together when queen was in LA but Queen never released the tracks!!! Shame!!!😔
It's true that when Michael Jackson first heard the song, he started bopping to the beat and said something like "Yeah that's the sauce!" And encourage the band to release it as a single. Iirc, however his reaction and remark were made in response to listening to the recorded album that the band had played for him.
Another interesting fact is that right around this era when Freddie was at his home in London, he like listening to Quincy Jones' album The Dude. I don't think it's unreasonable to hypothesize that the album would have served as a conscious or unconscious musical influence on Freddie ( perhaps reflected in his song Cool Cat), who in turn served as a part influence influence for Michael Jackson when he recorded Thriller--the greatest selling album of all time-- which was of course famously produced by Quincy Jones!

Queen is the unique classic rock band that has as many bangers and universal rock anthems that are familiar to and resonate with modern audiences ( regardless whether they know the band by name), eg Bohemian Rhapsody, Don't Stop Me Now,, We will rock you, We are the champions, Another One Bites the Dust, Undet Pressure, Show MustvGo On, etc.

Oh my darling you haven’t even scratched the surface, Queen is amazing, none of their songs sound the same. Freddie is considered the greatest frontman in rock history. I’m sure your next adventure will be Queen at live aid in 1985, where Freddie alone stole the show. They are considered the best live band, just wait to have your mind blown. There live concerts are just fantastic.

What’s funny and great about your reactions is you aren’t quite listening to them the way we did back in the old days, which was in our darkened rooms after rolling a big J and using the album cover to separate the seeds and stems out, lol.
Roger did not like this song and hated that John wanted to dampen down the drum sound but he did it and a drum loop
