It is called "the Indian Subcontinent" for a reason. It is not just one country, it is a mixture of several, regions, weathers, cultures having the same roots coming together, sharing and helping each other and everyone having the same notion/saying that "Vasudaiva Kutumbakam" (Sanskrit) which translates to "The world is one family".
The Indian Subcontinent would mean India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Burma, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka - all the countries that were part of India. Not India alone.
And "Vasudaiva Kutumbakam" has been only popularised in recent decades not a general virtue we aspire for.
What Syntel said is absolutely right. You have a different experience while eating some foods with hand.
JABY THE RESION WHY WE EAT FROM HANDS......
The practice of eating with the hands originated within Ayurvedic teachings. The Vedic people believed that our bodies are in sync with the elements of nature and our hands hold a certain power. Ayurvedic texts teach that each finger is an extension of one of the five elements: Through the thumb comes space. And also it stimulates our brain nervous system with mouth
(Master) Swami Vivekananda once said - “When the real history of India will be unearthed, it will be proved that, as in matters of religion, so in fine arts, India is the primal Guru of the whole world”.
there is no national language of india but hindi and english are the official languages , and with that there are 22 recognized scheduled languages in our country , but in reality there are more than 1300 distinct languages in india and mnay of them are grouped based on similaritites of these languages to form 1 schedules language out of the 22
all 22 are considered official.
I like the sentence "Hindi is not a national language ". Even today many educated people think Hindi is national language. It is not, just the politicians are imposing it due to which the mother tongue of each individual state loosing its identity.

India is referred to as a subcontinent (like he said small earth) because it covers an expansive area that includes the Himalayan region in the north, the Gangetic Plain, the plateau region in the south, Thar desert in the west, The Heaven in the east
Jaby, dont get confused with official language and national language.
India has many recognised national languages, but not one single national language.
Hindi and english are the official languages of the union government.
All states local governments have their own statel official languages.
Actually English is more official union language than Hindi but because our capital is Hindi that is why hindi is more like imposed on the union territories because they are not a state to have a CM and so fall directly under the GOI even after having Union Govs. Each state has a language which is more welcoming and understandable to the people as the official state language with English being the official most popular and job language. Like Marathi is the official language of Maharashtra yet the accent of people varies across the complete state because of intermixing with the other language accents and historical issues
India doesn't have a National Language.
india doesnt have any national language..we have 22 recorginised including 2 official language ..i.e., hindi and english..
All 22 are official language according to part VIII/8 of Indian constitution
@@raamappu8757 BRO READ MY REPLY AGAIN...I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT THERE ARE NO NATIONAL LANGUAGE IN INDIA...HINDI AND ENGLISH ARE OFFICIAL LANGUAGE WHICH ARE USED FOR GOVERNMENT OFFICE WORK..AND WE HAVE OVERALL 22 RECORGINISED LANGUAGES INCLUDING HINDI AND ENGLISH..

And if i say seriously
U would require more then a single life 😂 for understanding india 😎
13:07 also that's why in geography terminology and also some scientific terminologies India is called as "Sub-Continent"
There is science behind eating with our hands, even though most of us now a days don't. While indulging in any activity & experiencing and enjoying it a 100% you want all your senses awakened, similarly while eating and to enjoy the food, we say that we don't just eat with our mouths, we smell and see and also feel the food. Feeling the food with your fingers add to the experience of eating. There is also another theory which says that the nerves and blood vessels get activated when we are touching or breaking the food which start to stimulate the digestive and circulatory systems and makes it work better.
My grandmother often said something in Punjabi which roughly translates to 'India is actually a continent masquerading as a country'. The diversity is unparalleled. Im saying this as someone who has considerably travelled the rest of the world.

There is conection between Korea and India. A princess from India married Korean and they made a new race . Kinda.

One thing that I really like about about this video is he mentioned that masala varies from home to home like that’s sooooo important each family has their own ingredients and even with same ingredients they use in different proportions it changes up completely like just from a kids school lunch boxes you can see a wide variety of tastes
As a kid I started with using utensils for eating & continued that for a very long time
After a certain age I just thought of trying to eat with hands & it made such a big difference that I don't use spoons or fork unless I'm either at a public place, or in such a surrounding where I have to behave & be mindful of how messy I can be, or when I'm eating something which can't be comfortably eaten without spoon
I eat even noodles, maggie, rice, chowmein, etc with hands only when I'm in a comfortable & non-judgemental environment
Can't go back to using utensils for everything unless necessary
There is no need. This is always fine.
NICE ! PERFECTLY DOING! 👌👌BALANCE.

Yeah the reason we eat with our hands is to connect with the food ... And for my brothers who are Indian I would suggest that while you are eating your food with your hand switch to a spoon in the middle of your eating and then see/feel the difference... Idk but it really tastes better when I eat with hands i have tried it many times..
I love eating with hands but as an Indian never knew about the reasons behind it until I came across Dr Hansa Ji's video - Advantage of eating with hands. Other than taste thing, when food comes in contact with finger tips it creates digestive juices henceforth helping in better digestion. 😊 Nice video, nice reaction.
Yeah India indeed itself is whole world because all cultures are very dynamic yet stick together as United it's weirdly beautiful in its own way I am proud of it.....
When he said "India is a small Earth" I was like damn dude really lived a lot than I do living in India.. also those beautiful reviews u get 🥺
It's often put that way that if you eat your food from your hand, it tastes different/better than using cutlery. But I like this version that I heard/read somewhere:
Food is consumed in different stages- first we look, then we smell, then comes the touch(when using the hand) and then the actual taste. In fact the only sense left is hearing - which is there while cooking the food or even taking a bite. This way we are so close to our food.
By removing that 1 feeling by using cutlery, we are not bringing ourselves to connect with our food the way we should.
Thus, I think by using our hands we enhance our connection towards the food, and that in turn makes the food better(or more delicious)☺️
**Make Achara read this. I am sure she will understand.**
heyyyy!!!!congrats for 2M!!!
damn the Korean guy really explored India, enjoyed the video, thanks for bringing this video in the limelight Jaby

9:00 yes true
Touch, temperature, texture feel etc makes your food more delicious
It feels like deep connection with your food
It totally works for me...when eat with my hands i feel like they taste better rather while using spoon or forks.
I don't think using hands has anything to do with taste. One of the major food items here are puri, paratha and roti all of them are like paper and you are suppose to torn them into smaller pieces to consume, which can not be done with any spoon or fork. Hence people use their hands.
Rice on the other hand is consumable with spoon and hence many of us use spoon to eat rice but if you are eating curry or lets say chicken then you need to use your hands again to have your preferable amount of vegetables or chicken meat mixed in the rice. For which some of us prefer hands again.
prolly..but it is also said that our five fingers are parallel to five taste buds of tongue
@@sakalaguddin9299 kuch bhi
@@one_autumn_leaf69 I mean I just said what I had read...i don't know how much of that is true tho
@@sakalaguddin9299 Nothing about that is true. Fingers literally have no connection to taste buds, that's all.
When you eat with hands you are not just having the taste of food with your tongue but you are also feeling the food with the touch. You are feeling the texture, density, size etc. And that, subconsciously, adds to your experience of that food. You enjoy it more.
jalebi is a very sweet dessert, and it is first fried in ghee or clarified butter as you call it(traditionally ghee is used, but nowadays oil is used too...) and then it is dipped in sugar syrup which has some saffron which gives it a distinct flavour that no other dessert has...
We have 22 official languages. These are mentioned in Schedule VIII of the Constitution of India. When you're using hands to mix rice and lets say dal it mixes really well if you do it with your hands. It's not possible with spoon or fork. Also the mixing should be better for digestion and obviously the taste.
Actually our finger tips can sense the texture of the food and that signal goes to our brain then our tongue and nose do the 2nd task... By this way our appetite is fulfilled and we get a speach less satisfaction. That is the secret of eating by empty hand (right hand).
The 2nd reason is that, we can grab more delicious food by our hand than a spoon or chopsticks and fill our appetite instantly...
My English is so bad... Please those who can speak English fluently please share my message by their own statement...

I have been watching Korean Shows for the last 6 months or so and I also realized how similar Korean culture is to Indian culture. The shows and movies are very similar to south Indian movies in terms of the stories and drama. The people are also similar, in the way they react especially when they're laughing, happy, annoyed, angry. If you put south Korean movies and south Indian movies beside each other the reactions will be so similar. As far as language in India is concerned, there is officially "trilingual formula" used to maintain central government documents throughout India that is officially every state must use Hindi, English and local language. For example, in Maharashtra central government's official record are maintained in English, Hindi, and Marathi (local language of Maharashtra.)
U guys are incredible, love from india
Eating with hand has a good use. It's been taught since I was a kid. Grandparents said the process of breaking down food begins by hand. Indian foods are served hot and mostly to be mixed like idly and sambar or rice and curry or chappati and sides. The hand can tell our brain the temperature, and texture of the food and break it down before it starts from the mouth and feeds portions as our mouth desires each time we take a bite. Hands too can feel the possibility of foregin objects in food .
Okkay safe to say , this guy did indulge in our culture and with people , as compared to how many other foreigners usually do ,i mean you can't really learn a lot about any country in very short time , but he is pretty well informed and researched well . I hope he had good time in our country try ❤
