I see the point you're making, but I'm level 50+.. full maxed X-02 Power Armor, the Spray and Pray... even with perks that make it so I don't take radiation from eating/drinking. Only the early levels of Survival are difficult, eventually you just have everything you could ever want and the game is just as easy as normal difficulty. You're basically invincible at higher levels in Survival, so the only "hard" part is running everywhere. Occasionally, you don't feel like spending 10 minutes to run to a settlement, drop off stuff, then run back just to do it. Having a companion carry stuff in moments like this is just convenient
