jose cruz 500+ would be INSANE, even the v8 Miatas are often less than 480, and they are spinning tires in every gear! 170 is plenty for a Miata, you have to keep in mind they are as light as 2000 lbs depending on what year and options.
jose cruz take in mind that the miata is very lightweight and the cars you see 500 + hp those cars are relatively heavy. also a 500+ hp miata would be undrivable

They are so great that there are companies devoted to making turnkey V8 swap Miatas, & parts for DIY v8 Miatas... Flyin Miata even raced a 525 HP Miata in the Targa Newfoundland rally, and it was crazy fast, do a quick google search for Flyin Miata Targa car, and be amazed!
yea but what i meant by undriveable is like u said i guess they lose traction every gear so the cars not a daily type car at that point its a full on racecar. im not even a fan of engine swaps. to me i think it ruins the cars cause the engine was made for that car that reason

170hp / 125lb-tq isn't much at AALLLLL i love miatas and "Red Devil" makes it sound like if its a 500+- hp
