Easy Sweet Potato Cobbler | using canned Yams | Easy Fall Dessert Recipe

- In today's video, I show you how i make a super easy Sweet Potato Cobbler using canned yams. This video is a collab with my friend Leslie at THE FARMING PASTOR'S WIFE. We are both making a somethhing with Sweet Potatoes. I will have her channel linked below, along with her Sweet Potato Recipe Video. She is the absolute sweetest! Sweet Potato Cobbler Recipe:
-1 40 oz can of yams (yams and juice divided)
-1/2 cup (1 stick) Butter
-1 to 2 Cups Reserved liquid from canned sweet potatoes
-1 cup of flour
-1 cup of sugar
-1 cup of milk
-1 tsp of vanilla
-1/4 to 1/2 cup brown sugar (i used 1/2)
-cinnamon
***Melt 1 stick of butter in a 9x13 in baking dish. Drain the canned yams and reserve the juice. Pour drained yams into baking dish with melted butter. Cover with brown sugar. Drizzle with maple syrup. Pour about 1 to 1 1/2 cups of reserved juice, plus vanilla extract, over sweet potatoes. Making sure to cover sweet potatoes about halfway. In a separate bowl, mix together flour, sugar and milk. pour over sweet potatoes. DO NOT STIR. sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake at 350 degrees for 30- 45 minutes.

Your cobbler looks yummy. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it. My hubby and I have been on a Keto diet since last October 21st. I have lost 81 pounds and have 45 more to go. We can't have potatoes of any kind. I sometimes miss them. But we don't ever get hungry on this diet. Thank you for sharing this delightful recipe. God bless you and your family.

To eat the rest of the cobbler the next day, do you have to heat it or can eat cold???
Hey!😊 The cobbler needs to be refrigerated. And when it's cold, it starts to solidify a bit. You could eat it cold, but I love it warmed up with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. I think it just a preference wheather you eat it warmed or cold. Hope this helps!😍
@@ValerieHargett I was thinking that the melted butter on the bottom will harden into chunks if cold. Or does it get absorbed by the yams and dough?
It mostly gets absorbed. I took my dad some after it had been chilled. He ate it straight out of the Tupperware bowl. Lol. I prefer it warm though.😊
You didn't tell us if you poured the juice off the sweet potatoes or not. And you never told us what type of fabric of
Sorry you never told us what type of flower you were using so we don't know whether it's self rising or plane flower. Could you explain that a little bit better for us
