honestly, I love this idea because if you can make a great cake with just stuff from your local store, that means anybody can try and learn how to do it if they dedicate enough time to practicing!!

For what you were working with for this one, the cake turned out amazing! It’s not as hyper realistic as your cakes normally come out, but considering the materials, tools and item you were using, you did an excellent job! You overlooking the sculpting tools at the store absolutely killed me... mostly because I have done the same thing so many times.

I’m just a young teen but I’ve been cooking since I 6 years old , I started out by melting chocolate and drizzling it on chopped bananas and I was really good at making French toast and now I can make really cool cakes and i love cooking for my family for dinner but I wanted to do more then just bake and cook average meals and then when I started watching you around six months ago I got really inspired. Thank you so much!!! Im planning on make the geode cake that you made before.

I´m from Germany and my heart bled when I saw the blackforest cake 💔🍒 That´s everything, but not a blackforest cake. This is a real blackforest cake: one layer of chocolate cake (biscuit, sprikled with a little bit of cherry brandy), one layer of whipped cream with canned cherries, one layer of cake, one layer of whipped cream, one layer of cake. The whole cake is covered with whipped cream and shredded chocolate. There are twelve dots of whipped cream on top of the cake, and every dot has a cherry on top. There is also a big dot with a cherry in the middle of the cake. I saw so many "german" cakes in american videos on RUclips and it makes me always sad to see what happend with our cake culture. Cake is a really big thing here in Germany and it has a long tradition, we have so many different types of cakes. We definitely have more than a thousand different types of cake, and here in Northgermany, where I life, we have a daily tea time with some cookies or cake, like the people in the UK. My Granduncle was a pastry chef and I have more than 100 of his recipes.
I have an idea for a new format: cake around the world 🌍🍰you could try to make cakes from other countries with the traditional recipes, not with the american version of cakes from abroad. I can definitely help you with german cakes ;)

I would say it's not as realistic looking as the rest you make, BUT considering what you made it with and so on it's amazing. I could only dream of making anything even remotely close to it.

not as realistic as the others but it's amazing for such limited supplies! i'd love to see more challenges like this or a redo of this one later on, either with the same challenge or with normal tools.

I also think the fact you used cheaper food colouring actually helped you in this case to make the cake slightly uneven and spotty in the colouration. It looks great like always.

Ill be honest it doesn't look as realistic as your other cakes but it still looks super realistic! If I wasn't looking too hard I wouldn't be able to tell much of a difference tbh. It would be awesome if you came back to the dragon fruit cake in the future to make it hyper realistic!
