  • Shortened version of "Dragon Wings" tutorial from my Patreon. Full version contains the making of the frame part, however you can check out another way to make the frame for wings here - • Dragon Wings Frame Tut... (this one is even better! ;) )
    The material I'm working with on the video is the air-dry clay (velvet clay) - this one is my preferred material for dragon wings. Still the method can be used for the polymer clay too. Check out pinned comment to find out more!
    Enjoy the video! :)

    Follow the tutorial with this changes/updates:
    02:49 - no need to wait till the clay will dry, just correct the shape while the material is fresh
    03:16 - no need for the sandpaper
    03:46 - bake polymer clay before this stage, so to avoid possible damage of the wing membrane
    04:37 - bake polymer clay once again (instead of drying)
    Ready! You are gorgeous! :)

      Foam Clay?

    • @SilentKimiya

      This one is air-dry clay (also in my country it is sold as plasticine/clay for kids), however its properties look very similar to the foam clay on videos and in the different text descriptions. Unfortunately I have never tried foam clay, so I can't tell if they are similar/same in real life.

    YES thank you for this! The wings on my current piece are giving me a lot of grief so this is just what I needed!

      Haha, I would probably have to use up all my clay supplies to make one of such cosplay wings! And I don’t even know how to evenly roll out such a volume... A roller for laying asphalt maybe? :'D

    Honestly, I’ve been trying to sculpt a dragon for the longest time, however, I lacked the confidence and inspiration to do so. This video helped me so much! Like, a full on confidence boost! Thank you so much for posting this! You definitely got another subscriber!☺

    Hey! What thickness of wire is this here? 😊

    • @SilentKimiya
      @SilentKimiya  Год назад +1

      Hello! I don’t remember exactly (it was a long time ago...), but most likely it is a copper wire with a diameter of 1-2 mm. The material I worked with is lightweight, so it was enough; but if you are working with polymer clay, then I would recommend using a thicker and/or not so soft wire for wings of this size. Hope this helps ^^
