    Todd Helton has been held out for too long. This year I want to see Todd Helton and Adrian Beltre.

    As a Twins fan, I’m still pissed Colon got the Cy Young over Santana in ‘05. Also it’s going to be REALLY interesting to see how Mauer’s Hall of Fame voting compares to Buster Posey’s once Posey is eligible. They had extremely similar careers, with Posey having a huge edge in postseason success and Mauer having the edge in peak performance and sabermetrics.

      @@axelagosto5196 It's a big reason why Mike Trout could retire tomorrow and still get elected to the HOF, probably on the first ballot. Also given how most teams use it to target free agents and build rosters on a budget, there's probably some validity to it.

    I know your hearts in the right place, but i think you're a little too lenient on who you want it. I def think helton, jones, beltre, mauer and wagner should be in but the rest i think are more like hall of very good, not hall of fame.

    Great commentary. Right now, I would vote Beltre, Helton, Wagner, Jones. Thinking of Beltran, Mauer, and Francisco Rodriguez. Not sure why no one really talks about K-Rod but he deserves consideration since he is 4th on all time saves list, set the single season saves record and is a 6-time all-star. I think the other newcomers were great players but not quite Hall of Fame worthy. I’m not in favor of rewarding PED users with a vote even though a few have already got in.

    • @Gemnist98
      @Gemnist98 10 месяцев назад

      There are two main reasons for K-Rod not being talked about. The first is that he is seen as a prime example of closers having more volume than skill, especially compared to someone like Wagner. The second is that he physically assaulted both his wife and his father-in-law.

    Great show!! I've been trying to figure out what I'd do if SF owner, then I think about what they will do. Lol lol nothing lol lol. After 2024, SF has no payroll lol lol Webb Rogers. Lol lol that's it. There are FA out there noe, overpriced one dimensional Chapman. SF a negative 12 WAR at 3rd with Davis defense. SF can justify Chapman on his Defense alone. Not to mention Davis led SF at what lol 240? Heck Chapman hits that lol lol. price however and get make me go back to dreaming about Schmitt!! Luciano, is not ready. All our one year players, are mediocre. Haniger, conforto, descalfani, stripling, yas, slater, flores, slater. All are one year from disappearing. Lets end this now and trade this entire grouping!! Include Farhan! Yamamoto, $30 Lee $20, Snell $25, Chapman $15, Hoskins $15, I'm totally out on Bellinger, his D, is good he is versatile, but no way I'm going $25 mil for 7!!! Nooooo

  • @SconnerStudios
    @SconnerStudios 10 месяцев назад +2

    My predictions:
    Beltre first ballot probably between 85-90%. Old school voters will hate him because he lacks the awards and world series ring, but younger voters love him.
    Helton gets in
    Wagner could go either way within 2% of 75%
    Andruw Jones breaks 65%. He gets in 2025
    Beltran breaks 50%, maybe 55%
    Mauer almost makes it first ballot, at least 55% He makes it 2025.
    David Wright barely survives, probably gets around 7-10%. He either will make it in his 10th year, or he doesn't and makes it in the vets committee one day. He's what the vets committee was made for.
    Matt Holliday gets 2-3%
    Bartolo gets a few votes
    Reyes gets a vote or two
    Nobody else gets a single vote
    Utley gets a strong first showing, but will take several ballots, probably gets around 40-45% this year
    Sheffield, Manny, and A-Rod stay in the same limbo and rightly so. If Barry Bonds isn't in the hall for steroids, NO WAY should a guy like Sheffield, who barely hit 500, gets in. Nobody should make the hall who did steroids until Barry Bonds does because Barry only cheated after Bud Selig made it clear he was a useless commissioner.
    Modest gains for everyone else. It's a small ballot this year, and there's less controversial guys on the ballot (Sosa, Mac, Clemens, etc.).
    I'd love to be proven wrong with Mauer, Wagner, Chase Utley, and Andruw Jones and see them all make it this year, because after this year, we have a loaded ballot with CC, Ichiro, and lots of borderline guys like Pedroia in addition to an already large amount of quality candidates. I hate to see guys who might not be surefire hall of famers like Tim Hudson or Joe Nathan fall off the ballot only because there's too many candidates siphoning off votes from each other.

    Mauer’s a weird one because his entire career unfortunately coincided with that playoff losing streak. That coupled with his injury riddled second half of his career with a position switch to 1B probably clouds just how unprecedentedly good he was in his first 10 seasons. Not holding my breath on a first ballot election, but I’m definitely rooting for him

    If playing local games at Colorado's Coors Field is so advantageous, shouldn't all the players in the Rockies' line up hit .300-.350 and slug 30-40 HR ???
    Then, how come Todd Helton and Larry Walker are the only Rockies with HOF worthy numbers ??? It is not advantageous if it is equal. Helton should have been enshrined already, hoping to finally see him elected.

    I don’t understand why closers get voted in. Most tried to be starters, but were not good enough. They are like any other reliever, but pitch the last inning
    If the third starter on any team was moved to closer, they would be better than the existing closer. They are just failed starters that don’t have the arm, diversity of pitches, or durability to be a starter

      @@HummBabyBaseball I'm not offended, I just disagree. Strongly. I'm a "big" Hall guy and would put in pretty much everyone with a WAR above 60, but Bartolo Colon, who I liked a lot at the end of his career, is a ridiculous consideration for the HOF. @forgerelli1 I know Mauer was considered a future HOFer but I forgot just how good he was until I looked at the stats as I explained. Colon has longevity.. nearly 300 wins.. 2500 Ks.. and a Cy Young. Of course he's not as great as Mauer.. I never said he was.. I just said if not for the steroid connection I would vote for him but not over Mauer.
