I was just watching your last video ! Once again, superb editing with a perfect choice of song ! Rose and the Doctor (Nine/Ten/Tentoo), is truly one of the most beautiful love stories for me. (It's also somehow the only romance in the series that ends well) You always manage to highlight my favorite moment. The one where Rose and the Doctor end up in the alley before he gets shot. This scene is so powerful. On the one hand we have the reunion, and what leads to the birth of Tentoo. The Doctor was born twice loving Rose. He fell in love as a 9, was born to love her as a 10, and again when he regenerated into Tentoo. The symbolism of this romance kills me every time. After 10's aborted regeneration, two timelines occur for the Doctor. One tragic, and one happy. For Rose, it's bittersweet. It's really a very important moment that you always highlight very well.
I don't know if you know this, but there's a very good comic called "Empire of the Wolf", where Rose has an adventure with two doctors following a sort of paradox ; Eleven and Eight. Also with an empress Rose. And we learn in particular that Rose and Tentoo had a daughter named Mia ! 💖
Also, if you don't know, there is also a book called "The Stone Rose" that I recommend to you, read by David Tennant, where we essentially follow an adventure of Rose and the Doctor in ancient Rome, where the doctor is changed into stone and Rose save him. To thank her, he even kisses her !
    Small excerpt :
But she carried on anyway, raising the phial, tipping it slowly, carefully, to one side… A single drop, a liquid emerald, splashed on to the stone cheek of the Doctor. And the cheek became flesh. Pale flesh, dark hair, intense brown eyes. His tunic rippled back into cloth, ten toes wiggled within his sandals. Arms flexed, and grabbed Rose into a hug. Soft lips pressed hers with a kiss of gratitude and joy and unspeakable pleasure at being alive.
‘Wotcha,’ Rose said, smiling through her tears.
‘Hello,’ he replied softly, his eyes shining.
‘I think you must be real,’ she said after a moment. ‘My imagination’s not that good.’
And as a bonus at the end, we discover that the Doctor literally sculpted a statue of Rose... Yes. The basic premise of the story being, it seems to me, that Rose and the Doctor go to ancient Rome to find out how it is possible that Mickey discovered a 2000 year old statue in a museum representing Rose. Well in the end you have your answer, because it was literally the Doctor who sculpted her after she saved his life (and he kissed her incidentally) ! I would have loved it to be an episode with the actors. But I think it would have killed us on the spot. 😂

Thank you so so much for commenting every time dear, this means a lot to me ! :D I'm really happy that I manage to edit that scene (I think it's my favorite too, we waited so long for this!) like you love, and it's very true that he born twice thanks to Rose, even if I'm a little bit bitter about Tentoo's existence, tbh. The Doctor keeps saying that it's HIM, but he's also made from Donna, so it's not entirely the Doctor. I enjoy editing this part of the story, though. Thank you so so much for this

@@MissEleanorVane The principle of the Doctor is that he constantly changes body and personality. The doctor is therefore not his body but his experiences and his memories contained in the energy of regeneration. Tentoo comes from regeneration energy that split in two. A man, in the series, even more a lord of time (because once again change of body with changes of cells etc.), is the sum of his memories and his experiences. So Tentoo is entirely the Doctor, as much as Ten. Tentoo only gets the DNA part from Donna that makes him part human. (In biological terms you can say that they are really brother and sister now, precisely completing their initial coded brother-sister relationship that Tentoo had with her when he was still Ten, which is very beautiful) As a result, we cannot saying that Tentoo is half Donna. This is not true. Because he has his own mind, the one he always had. The only reason Tentoo would be really half Donna (for his species as an alien) would be if he didn't have a mind of his own. Donna just became half Donna/half Time Lord because she no longer had her own mind. David Tennant plays Tentoo as he always played Ten. Same vocal expression, and same facial expression. As for the fact that he "talks like Donna", it is only used once for humor. Again, other than that it plays like Ten always has. Not to mention that with each new regeneration, the Doctor usually takes something from his companions. Having some of Donna's expressions is the reason. It's like Ten's accent that he actually modeled after Rose's. Nothing more. Believe me, Tentoo is fully the Doctor, and in the logic of the series, no, he is not half Donna. He can't. Simply because he has his own mind containing memories and experiences making him who he is coming from the source of regeneration, as with every other regeneration of the Doctor. Tentoo is therefore just a regeneration of the doctor among many others, but human. Thanks Donna ! (Also, Tentoo had always been planned by the writers. The only way to give Rose and the Doctor a happy ending. That's why his hand was cut off in the Christmas invasion. Tentoo helps complete the Ten's arc about his renewed love for humanity and consequently his desire to be human, stemming precisely from his initial love for Rose. The Doctor becoming human. Isn't that a beautiful thing?)

    • @MissEleanorVane
      @MissEleanorVane  9 месяцев назад

Mhh :/ sorry, I don't agree with that, especially the part about Donna. It's much more than a line of humor, we have a whole dialogue which supports that Donna is inside him, and Tentoo knows everything that Donna feels because it's "in his head", Tentoo says it himself. If he knows Donna's feelings, it's because he has a part of her mind inside him, which influences his words and actions. It's more than just DNA. It's a mental influence on Tentoo, and that makes him... different, even if the actor plays him as similar as possible.
What you say about the fact that Tentoo can be entirely the Doctor and only have Donna's DNA, I can conceive it and even I don't agree with it but the feeling that he is not the Doctor remains omnipresent for me. Maybe it was just humor for the fact that he spoke like Donna, but it was humor that reinforced a feeling, for me, that he is NOT the Doctor and in itself, can we really say that he is the Doctor when the latter is still alive? When TEN is still there ? At best, he is a clone, a duplicate of the original. I am well aware that the Doctor is not his body or even his person. But... the idea of Tentoo is fragile and a little disappointing for me.
But for me this ending is infinitely cruel, both for Rose, for Ten and for Tentoo, and the worst thing for me in all of this is that Ten is doing this to himself. I can't see any real beauty in this ending because the Doctor here shows immense cruelty to me towards Rose by imposing a choice on her without asking her what she WANTS. The Doctor often thinks he is above the opinions of humans and he proves it here. Rose fought for years to get back to him. And he brought her back to square one, undoing all her work to tell her that she MUST stay with Tentoo to do with him what she did with Nine. But here, the Doctor has already made a terrible mistake for me because Rose is no longer there as the woman she was with Nine. It's repeatedly stated that she has become very similar to the Doctor. And that she is one of these weapons created in spite of himself. I doubt Rose can change Tentoo because she herself is too different.
And the fact is that the Doctor either ignores this or chooses not to see it. But in the end, one thing is certain, he left her no choice. No more than at Tentoo, in fact. She is overwhelmed by her emotions during this scene of finally hearing "I love you" from the Doctor, and he takes advantage of this kiss to escape and Rose runs after him. She runs after him because she is not convinced, despite this beautiful kiss, that Tentoo IS the Doctor, not when the Doctor she loved for years is leaving. But he didn't give her time to react. So this ending is bittersweet for me. She has a form of the Doctor, yes, but not the one she liked or even the one she would have chosen if she had the chance. The Doctor remains forever without Rose. Tentoo is undoubtedly the one who came out the best but... consequently, I must have had trouble seeing this ending that way. I admit that in my headcanon, the Doctor ends up returning and Rose finds a way to become immortal (perhaps thanks to the Bad Wolf) and she leaves with him and she stays with the real Doctor. I kinda ignore this part with Tentoo because it broke my heart.
Also, I don't really think that Ten/Doctor wanted to be human, tbh. He love humanity but also very often think of them as their are below him, as he knew better. And even if each Doctor is the Doctor… remember what Ten said. "Even if I change it still feels like dying. Everything I am dies. Some new man goes sauntering away... and I'm dead."
But it's also just my opinion. I just wished another end for them, even if I guess that many of my ships had worst ends. I'm glad you see beauty in it though!

    • @MissEleanorVane
      @MissEleanorVane  9 месяцев назад

Also, if Tentoo is just The Doctor with no differences because we are our memories and experiences, why then did Tentoo committ genocide? And why did the Doctor critique him for it? Why did he say "that's me when we first met." Well.. it's nit really because Tentoo has memories of Martha and Donna too. If he is am exact replica of The Doctor with all his experiences up until this point why does he choose to act differently? And why is he like Rose when they met. The born in battle shouldn't matter because he has all of The Doctors memories. Why does Tentoo shut up when The Doctor punishes him? The doctor is arrogant and intelligent but when The Doctor acts more authorative than Tentoo, Tentoo accepts it... the way Donna, Rose or Martha might sometimes (Although we know they can talk back).
The Doctor is so talkative he wouldn't just shut up and agree like that. In the 60th anniversary, Ten and Eleven have some differences but Ten doesn't bow to Elevens authority but Tentoo bows to Tens.
And the Doctor... just wouldn't do that. Which make the feeling of him NOT being the Doctor really strong.
The Doctor “make it stand, say no”. And Tentoo doesn't do that. He's... half-tone. Like a clone would be. Nothing like the man that the Doctor is. It made me want to cry precisely because I saw nothing of the Doctor in him. Or at least, I didn't see what made the Doctor the character he is and it kills me to think that Rose has to settle for that, after everything she did to find her way back to the man she loved.

@@MissEleanorVane (Sorry for not being able to respond before, I was busy, I'm still busy, probably I'll forget things you said, maybe my comments will seem confusing, I'll come back to that later later when I have time, in the meantime, here's what I can say)
Firstly, yes. If Tentoo had a part of Donna's mind/memories, he wouldn't be the Doctor anymore, which makes him ending up with Rose redundant. Except Tentoo doesn't have part of Donna's mind in him. The dialogue you use to argue the opposite is "I can see, Donna... what you're thinking. All that attitude. All that lip. Cos all this time... you think you're not worth it. Shouting at the world, 'cause no one's listening. Well, why should they?" is in fact nothing more than an emotional scene where the Doctor finally realizes to what extent Donna has a negative image of herself. The "I can see" is just a simple expression used by the Doctor here. And you know what proves it? The script of S4E13, Journey's End.
(The Daleks spin around on the spot.)
      DALEK: Help me. Help me!
      DONNA: And the other way.
NEW DOCTOR: What did you do?
DONNA: Trip switch circuit-breaker in the psychokinetic threshold manipulator.
      NEW DOCTOR: But that's brilliant!
DOCTOR: Why did WE never think of that?
DONNA: Because YOU TWO were just Time Lords, you dumbos, lacking that little bit of human. That gut instinct that comes hand in hand with planet Earth. I CAN THINK OF IDEAS YOU TWO COULDN'T dream of in a million years.
Not very likely if Tentoo had a part of her mind / her memories, right? If Tentoo has part of Donna's mind in him, why he can't think the same things as her? Or why is he surprised that she has these brilliant ideas? If Tentoo really had a part of Donna's mind in him, he should be able to have these same ideas, which he is canonically not capable of. This happens again, in the TARDIS Coral deleted scene (considered Canon by RTD):
DONNA: If you shatterfry the plasmic shell....you accelerate the growth power by fifty-nine.
DOCTOR & NEW DOCTOR: WE never thought of that.
Also, later Tentoo confirming that the only real difference he has from our Doctor Time Lord is the fact of being part human. More simply, having one heart. Beyond that, he's the same everything the Doctor has always been. "Same memories, same thoughts, same everything. Except I've only got one heart." He says he has the same thoughts as our Doctor, therefore his own thoughts - therefore his own mind. (So still no half-mind Donna) The difference from his Time Lord counterpart is only the body. Not the mind. "I am part human, specificly the the aging part. l grow old, and never regenerate."
There we go. Canon evidence that Tentoo does not have Donna's mind/memory/thought process. Instead, we see his mind being constantly referred to as that of his Time Lord counterpart.
Tentoo is a BIOLOGICAL metacrisis, his mind remained the same (It's literally in the name), but the regeneration energy in his hand picked up on Donna's human biology and grew a human body. (His body is PART human, as in the aging part. He'll grow old, and never regenerate.) Whereas, Donna's body remained the same; she got the Doctor's mind, becoming the DoctorDonna. She is essentially the Doctor AND Donna, at this point in time. Since Donna was a human, she could not sustain the Doctor's mind alongside her own, which is what led to it burning up. It was simply too much for a human brain to take. Tentoo, as proven earlier, does not have Donna's mind.
With all that, no, it is not possible to say correctly with this quote "I can see, Donna... what you're thinking. All that attitude. All that lip. Cos all this time... you think you're not worth it. Shouting at the world, 'cause no one's listening. Well, why should they?” that Tentoo has a part of Donna's mind in him that influences him. With everything that follows, this dialogue, once again, becomes simply (and always has been) an emotional scene where the Doctor finally understands the negative feelings that Donna harbors towards herself. Nothing more.
To return briefly to this scene where the Doctor speaks like Donna; We are shown the Doctor picking up her mannerisms. Again, the Doctor regularly picks up things from people he travels with. He "imprints" on Rose as a newly regenerated being and is shown to pick up on his companions' accents very often.
On a more analytical level, the "Donna mannerisms" bit is obviously comedic relief in an extremely action packed episode (evidenced by the fact that he literally never sounds like Donna again throughout the episode) and isn't meant to be taken that seriously. In every other scene, he is played by David Tennant, exactly as Ten.
And then, this isn't even the first time that Donna and the Doctor have looked alike. They always looked the same, even in their gestures. (I could make compilations of them) The simple reason being again that they were coded as brother and sister all along. This scene of “Oi, watch it, spaceman!”, “Oi, watch it, Earth girl!”, “Oi!”, “Oi!” is almost the same as another scene seen earlier in season 4, being "Tardis, time lord - yeah!", "Donna, human - no!" with head movements included. What does an additional resemblance between these two change? Honestly nothing.
Also, for the fact that you say that if Tentoo was really the Doctor, regeneration wouldn't have made any difference... Uh. How to tell you ?
The basis of regeneration inevitably involves changes each time. So to say that Tentoo can't be the Doctor because he doesn't act the same as Ten is completely ridiculous.
Especially when we assume that the Doctor naturally changes personality with each incarnation. At this point, it's like saying that Eleven and Twelve aren't really the Doctor because they're different from Ten.
Tentoo is bound to have slight differences from Ten because he went through the regeneration process! Tentoo, it's Ten who has evolved! The few other minimal differences that Tentoo has compared to Ten do not come from Donna (as you like to claim), but from the functioning of the regeneration itself.
The way the Doctor is / becomes and envolve during his incarnation / and “dies” inevitably impacts regeneration. Tentoo was born in the middle of war, which made him more impulsive. (I take for example the scene where he runs towards Davros with his kind of Gun...) This is why Tentoo is reminiscent of Nine, who also came out of a war. Hence the Doctor's line about it being him during their first meeting with Rose. But he is not literally like Nine was. But Tentoo was also born from that moment when he ran towards Rose in that street just before to get shot down, which makes him (if you look closely) much more cheerful / amused / less serious than Ten (who lost that a bit with the years without Rose) at certain times. He is more joyful in nature, lighter, because the last moment he experienced before being shot was pure happiness to find Rose again. And why he commits genocide? Simply because he no longer has to comply with the same demands as a Time Lord, having become half human. Now he prioritizes what he wants, not what he should. It is precisely these small changes that prove that Tentoo is yet another regeneration of the Doctor instead of a copy.
Another detail that I like is precisely the scene where Ten says that Tentoo is too dangerous to be left alone... Because what happens a few episodes later? Ten is alone and becomes extremely dangerous. Ten and Tentoo, once again, are the same man with different opportunities. Another proof of this is prophecy. It literally couldn't happen if Tentoo wasn't the Doctor. He is called the Doctor by the Dalek Caan.
(Also, I don't remember a scene where the Doctor tells Tentoo to shut up? I remember him yelling at him after committing genocide, which makes sense, and telling him to go up in the Tardis. What Tentoo does because he has no choice anyway, like everyone else, because the place is being destroyed?)
As for comparing Tentoo to a clone... I strongly object to it. We've already seen clones in the series (we remember the case of Martha), and they don't act at all like Tentoo. Clones don't even have the same feelings as their counterparts, and even memories had to be transferred.
As for the question I think I saw you ask, why is our Doctor still here if Tentoo is the Doctor? This is the very principle of division! The Doctor was split in two. The regeneration energy (where essentially the Doctor's soul/all of his memories and experiences is) has been split. Not copied or cloned, but divided. Divided and transferred to the Doctor's own original hand.
For the fact that you don't think the Tenth Doctor wanted to be human. I don't know what to tell you other than it's literally part of the main character arc. Logically you are having trouble with Tentoo if you have not understood this essential part. The Doctor always wanted to be human. The Doctor, and the Tenth Doctor in particular, wants to be human. It's peppered here and there throughout the first four seasons, but if you watch closely, there's this underlying current of wistfulness in him (“I've never had a life like that”; “The one adventure I can never have”), not to mention the entirety of the Human Nature two parter. And I'm not even talking about all the quotes where he talks about how life as a Time Lord is too long. (arguing that an immortal life is not good) That in the end we just get tired of it. That the time of life is not the most important but the person and how they lived it. Brief. It's really not subtle.
