- Sonic The Comic is sometimes known as a more darker, grittier version of the Sonic Universe, and this series certainly wasn't shy about having some characters killed off, sometimes even showing the death scene play out before you! So with that said, today I'm counting down 10 Characters who Died in Sonic The Comic (audio version)
This is technically an audio version remake of a video I did back in 2018 of 5 Characters who died in Sonic The Comic, though I've added a lot more info and increased the list to 10! Thanks for watching and enjoy!

Me too, the comics that are probably not canon, are much more darker. One of the most huge example is Evil Super Sonic, or "Fleetway Sonic". We should definitely ask Sega if they could make at least one dark game.
The moment when Tails had to sacrifice someone dear to him to defeat Dark Oak actually frightened me beyond fear itself and I ended up running to the bathroom with my whole body shaking with fear.

I wish the modern games brought back higher stakes. Forces was an “attempt” at it but it just ended up being an edgier version of sonic colors.
Sonic Forces should have been Sonic’s Darkest Hour but the script is utter dogshit in conveying the dark nature of the war itself and everything else related to it. The US script says Sonic was held captured and possibly tortured, yet he still quips like he does in Colors and has a similar not taking the situation seriously when he should be given the dire nature of it all.
@@rayvenkman2087 fucking SAT AM did a better job at a darker tone without it feeling edgy and cringe it was genuine because Robotnik felt like an actual threat and Sonic was allowed to feel and emote appropriately

So this means that Knuckles is the only character in the entire Sonic Roster to have been almost executed by Hanging.

Hey, I'm impressed that my list wasn't TOO far off! I was hesitant about putting the pig as it was a robot, (and a one-off robot, unlike Brutus), but you make an excellent point about Super Sonic fully intending it to be a kill.
I forgot just how dark these comics could be. Still, great memories and helped make my childhood bearable.

And then in the 'other Sega strips' days, things got very brutal. I'm sure I'm not alone in reading the Streets of Rage series and seeing for the first time violence of that level in a comic.
It was only when I read them years ago that I realised that too, I always skipped the non Sonic related strips as a kid so was surprised looking back now.
Between this and the Mario comics, I'm convinced that a lot of the best writers and storytellers for these classic franchises aren't actually utilised in the games themselves 🤔

Tails, The Sentinel, The Plax, Nutzan Bolt, Brutus, the demon from the Tails and Knuckles story, the guy killed by dinosaurs, The entire Misery Zone, Agent X (and his whole kind). Some of those are stretching a bit, maybe.

The Badniks in number 4 probably didn't have any Mobians inside them, as in some of the earlier comics, some of them spoke even if they didn't have any Mobians inside of them, good job on the list though
I love IDW but I wish they were allowed to experiment with darker themes and storylines. It would be AMAZING to see ideas like these tackled by actually competent writers (same goes for the games). Sega mandates man😔
Sega of Japan and Sega of America will still butt heads with Sonic Central getting preferable treatment in how they depict their content compared to the US writers who’s hamstrung to restrictive mandates no thanks to Ken Penders.

Imma do my top 10 list of sonic characters who died. Expect its form the games
10-metal sonic: After being metal overlord. Metal falls down and transforms back to regular metal and after talking deactivates due to the damage. Before you say he appears again well in sonic forces its a illusion and the side games he features in like sonic rivals aren't canon
9-maria: Maria and shadow is running from the government (I forgot the name of the government) and Maria puts shadow in the jar thing and sends him down to space so he can land safely meanwhile Maria has been shot by one of the government agents (this death messed me up as a 5-7 year old)
8-sonic: Sonic and elise are chilling on the land when suddenly mephiles pops up and stabs sonic with a blast making elise cry but he is revived later on
7-tikal and chaos: After sonic beats chaos tikal confronts chaos and they both rise up going to heaven (at 1st I didnt know this was a death but tikal doesn't appear after and many say tikal is dead so I count it and chaos does appear in generations but remember it made different dimensions to where you could travel to the past so I count chaos)
6-zavok: Sonic and zavok meet in a mechanical lava place and sonic nocks zavok off and zavok turns giant and after sonic drops more blocks on zavok. Zavok falls into lava and burns to death (kinda messed up for a kids game)
5-classic metal sonic: When classic sonic is running in stardust speedway (I think) classic metal appears and destroys parts of the bridge but sonic jumps up and runs and after enough hits classic metal is paralyzed and classic sonic kicks him hard into the air and he explodes (I just love that kick and explosion)
4-infinte: (I'm pretty sure he's dead idk its not confirmed but I think it makes more sense for him to be dead) sonic is fighting infinite and his OC buddy appears and they both fight infinite and then do a double boost on him and knock him out. Infinite wakes up slowly fading until he completely disappears
3-eggman and elise: Eggmans ship is about to crash and both eggman and elise are in there and sonic fails to catch up to them and so they both crash and die but they are both revived
2-eggmans grandfather (forgot his name): A video appears of eggmans grandfather and talks about his super weapon and after this sentence the video shuts off and I'm guessing he is shot to death
1-gamma: after destroying his mind controlled friend he lets out his bird inside him and let's hime be with his wife and explodes in the process (this death made me cry)

Man Sonic, Ninja Turtles, and Pokémon are all shows and games that are supposed to be fun, but can get really dark in the comics/manga
The originals Turtles comics are pretty dark, it wasn't until the 80's cartoon that it was made more light-hearted.

Ok so on issue #128, I get the how did Robotnik travel back in time to erase Sonic from existence (Cause he is basiaclly a god and can do anything), but I never got the "How did he exactly removed Sonic from existence?". Its obvious he didn't murder Sonic in the past / born, cause if he did, then Sonic wouldnt even exists in the future. Although... what if Robotnik didnt even travel to the past? What if the dimension where Sonic was in where he didn't exists was just an illusion Robotnik created to show him what it could look like, cause for all we know, we've seen Robotnik having the ability to warp a person in different zones / dimensions, travel / age someone forward or back (see issue #129 btw, there is a part where Robotnik travelled 65 years into the future to turn Sonic old and show that he wouldn't beat him), having the ability to change reality (Again, also see #129), summon Sonic's old enemies, taking away someones power (#130 he tooked away Sonic's speed in the Special zone), and turn people into stones.

I don’t think he could erase Sonic as he’s essential to his own existence and unless his godhood status could protect him from being subjected to the effects of a time paradox, he’ll undo himself as well if he tries to.
Though, I think Sonic is protected by presumably STC’s version of the Chaos Forces(A pre-Reboot Archie concept) due to his connection to the Chaos Emeralds and the Master Emerald which if I recall correctly; There’s only one Master Emerald in all of time and simultaneously exists in the past, present and future. Perhaps once Sonic had made contact with it through his own connection to the Chaos Emeralds, he leaves an echo of himself behind within it.

The same reason Classic Doctor Who Season 12-14 starring Tom Baker had a Dalek story with really strong Nazi-overtones and depictions of dark imagery in the Genesis of the Daleks or the scary, violent nature of Gerry Anderson’s Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons and New Captain Scarlet when it comes to the content. Writing the stories for their young audience versus writing down to them and respecting their intelligence.

I don't think robotnik murdered the mobians when the badniks jumped into the molten metal, we have seen before that badniks can operate without a mobian acting as an organic battery, the battery without a mobian is just plain bad, and I think robotnik has troopers escort the mobians to a temporary cell to await the processing plant
