- The entire Sonic & Knuckles game adaptation arc featured in Sonic The Comic. The Death Egg is near completion, all it needs in one final component, The Master Emerald! Sonic arrives on the Floating Island (Angel Island) and forms an alliance with former enemy Knuckles. The two team up and make there way to put a stop to Robotnik's ultimate weapon once and for all, however Robotnik has sent the one badnik Sonic can't hope to defeat, Metallix The Metal Sonic has returned!

18:13 There it is. My favourite image from STC, making that issue my top one. I came into this arc fresh, not having played the whole S3&K together yet, but getting the S&K cartridge from the STC/Milky Way promotion. The stakes were sky (sanctuary) high here: Floating Island powerless and set to fall, then Sonic face to face with Robotnik, then Death Egg totalled and Sonic a hell of a long way from the ground, then Boo! Death Egg Robot! At the end, young me felt the sadness as the Emerald Hill Folk had to leave what they knew behind to become the Mushroom Hill Folk for a while. It touched a nerve back then, because I'd never been abroad as a kid, but even if we could have been able to do that, I was frightened by the thought. Maybe it's the Asperger's and the notion of routine, but back then I had some idea that if I left, I couldn't come back, and that was a scary thought. And then here in STC, I could see kids actually going through that on the pages. Of course Knuckles was a great heart for taking them in, and the subplot of him now being the protector for the time being was interesting going forward, but that was really sad to read at the time. Finally, there was a bandaged and bruised Robotnik whining about losing to end on a laugh. All that was missing was an "I hate that hedgehog!" Great job, as ever.

The final of this arc is so epic! Sonic jumping from the Death Egg in a double page is really cool!

I'm glad this isn't an adaptation of Sonic 3 and Knuckles. Could you imagine how pants-shittingly horrifying Hyper Sonic would be!?
I've been revisiting old STC issues and I gotta say. This is the most rad arc ever! The tension, dynamic between sonic and knuckles and the presence of the Death Egg.
Definitely the apex of this comic

Loved this arc as a kid, still do! The art style is hands down my fav sonic and knuckles design!
One of the best adaptations in the franchise. The writing is great and Knuckles and Sonic's Dynamic is also really good. There's some really creative stuff here And the Artwork is some of the greatest in the series.
There is one thing I notice the Master Emerald was actually retcon to exist in the story. Since Knuckles was originally the guardian of the Chaos Emeralds
I think they should have kept knuckles as the guardian of the Chaos Emeralds and introduce the master Emerald way later on. But that's just a idea this story is still one of my favorites in Sonic the comic.

I had this issue as a kid! the Metalix vs Super Sonic one specifically So many memories and copying drawings of the characters in my own sonic comics then going on my Sega Saturn to play Sonic Jam (it had all the mega drive sonic games) great times!

I read this arc as a kid before doing the same level on the game. Absolute brilliance.
Easily my favorite sonic channel not only has this channel make this line of sonic comics my favorite but also adding in music from the games put into their respective places adds to my enjoyment of the comics really wish this comic has continued really would’ve like to see sonic mania in sonic the comic

I do believed if this series had continued, then maybe the good that existed within Feeltway’s Super Sonic would have taken over and become the new Super Sonic, idk how that work’s.
