Sound out of the box is noticeably better than my Sennheiser Game One headphones. Sound ever so slightly better on dongle (but not by much). Update: I bought this headset around this time and it WAS my most regretted purchase of all time, however, as time has gone on, EPOS's driver software is night and day compared to how it was when I first bought this $500 (CAD) headset. When I first purchased the 670, my dongle simply wouldn't connect sometimes and disconnect randomly a lot, it was infuriating. Also, the software didn't work at all like in this video. Now, this headset is awesome to use. The software is fixed, the dongle is fixed, the only complaint now is battery, non-replacable battery for a wireless headset.... ridiculous. Oh well, at the end of the day I would never make this purchase again, but I'm so glad after my horrible original experience EPOS has re-gained my trust with fixing all the issues with this 3 year old headset.
Love your headset videos, you do such a great job detailing everything! One thing I often run into is wearing headsets with glasses. It presses my glasses into my head which can hurt over long gaming sessions. If you ever find a headset that works well with glasses or do earbud reviews I would love to see that!
I'm using a 15 year old Microsoft stereo wired headset. It still works although the padding on the ear cups has been falling apart slowly for some time now. Its time for a upgrade.
I've been using the HyperX Cloud Flight because I needed a new pair and saw Shroud using it and the reviews on it were pretty good so I decided to give Flight a shot. honestly at $116.96 USD ($159.99 CAD), it's amazing. The sound quality is really good and it's so comfortable. Compared to my old one, I was able to hear things more clearly. It looks nice as well, with simple and nice design. The battery life on this thing is amazing!
I was a wireless user for a long time. I didnt want to deal with the cables. But after having the Game ones for the last 4 years I prefer to deal with a cable than having to charge the headset often and have lower sound quality. Looking forward to try the akg 7xx.
Great Review! As for why the headset may lose connectivity at smaller distances than other headsets, you may have answered that in your video. You said this headset is the new audio standard. They may have achieved this audio quality by using a different frequency for the dongle to headset communication. Just like how AM radio sacrifices quality for range (it uses larger wavelengths than FM), and FM radio has better sound but doesn't travel as far. This headset may work at a higher frequency range in order to secure better quality audio, at the cost of the distance you can wonder from (and how many things can be in the way of) the dongle.
I actually use a Sennheiser Game One beside a Sennheiser HD 58X and a HD 800. For me, the Game One is worth its money because it has the most natural sound of all gaming headsets out there and is therefore an absolute all-rounder. You can use it for audio editing, realistic surround sound, games, music, movies etc. And the resolution of it is excellent too and, in my opinion better than from the Sennheiser HD 58X from Drop (Massdrop). I hope that Sennheiser will not discontinued the (old) Game Series.
I have a GSP500 with the GSP600 earpads and now i bought the Arctis Pro Wireless plus Audio Techinca leather earpads, 2 weeks ago. Honestly , the Arctis Pro´s sound so much much better... Bass, footsteps in CSGO, music , etc ! For me, the best headseat so far, the Arctis Pro Wireless.
@HardwareCanucks I love your headset reviews I wear a wired Sennheiser headset myself for my PC and also have a Gen 1 Wireless Astro A50 headset for my PS4. I would love to hear your review on the newer Astro A50's that came out if you could get your hands on a pair. Keep up the Great reviews on everything you do.
Overdesigned, lack of type c, no cool charging dock or anything similar, dinky usb transmitter and heavy design that many people find not very comfortable (see 600 reviews.) Not worth 350. Not even close.
Tried them on Best Buy's Magnolia and DAMN!!!!! came back home and ordered the GSP 670, with a free mouse pad and stand. The cool thing is that they told me i could return them back within 30 days if i change my mind.
Nice video, Dmitriy, I believe headset sounds cool but try Plantronics RIG 800 HD Wireless. Lightweight, very convenient with Dolby Atmos but no Bluetooth and twice as cheap. Best movie sound I've ever heard in headsets (like in theatres with Dolby Atmos, yes there is still a lack of content of D.A.), especially wireless, never thought wireless can sound really good. With Russia from love =))))
I like the GSP 600, it's perfect with the GSX 1000. Being able to correct your audio for different applications: games, music, movies, is very underrated. I think the problem with the game series, is that their ear cushions are kind of bad. They don't seal well and wear out fast. If you go from the game series to the GSP, you'll think the GSP is a vice on your head until it breaks in after 2 weeks.
Im usin gsp600+ gsx1000. What you think about that combo, i dont think im going to change these. Before these i used astro a50 and a50 was best wireles headset ive used.
well hello there it don't matter it's about where i'm going... sure.. we'll see.. everybody loves a 4 way hidden d-pad and a cool oled display... plus i'm quite sensitive at 24,000 dpi plus rgb you gotta try.....
How would you compare the 7.1 sound positioning between the GSP670 and the Logitech G933/G935? I own the G933's and would consider swapping if the audio positioning is better!
I had first G933 then bought Arctis 7 which sucked in surround/sound quality/how it feels on head.. then switched back to a new pair of G933. Now I have G935 but I don't even use DTS:X(G935 doesn't have Dolby Headphone which is useless anyhow with Dolby Atmos around) as Win10 Dolby Atmos is just so much better. Would use just Dolby Atmos on any of the headsets around so what surround/sound positioning the manufacturer drivers has feels kind of useless.. :P You just gotta use USB Generic drivers to be able to enable Dolby Atmos(instructions can be googled).
ricky v if your referring to the mic absolutely not. There is no wireless gaming headset worth a shit for mic sound. The best it gets is various lapel mics or the modmic wireless.
Got mine today, sending it back. It seems to go into some quick sleep mode after just a few seconds, after which the next time a sound plays there is a delay of a fraction of a second where you have no audio, then there is a slight crackle and the audio starts playing. This means if you start watching a video where they talk from the very first moment of the video, you miss the start of their first word and you get that stupid little pop sound. Additionally, because this happens after just a few seconds of no sound, you'll get it even if you pause the video and then click through to a different timestamp. There is no way to turn this off. The auto sleep setting in the software does not disable this. As a result I find them completely unusable, it's just far too annoying an issue to live with. They are going back.
I go with sony in ear plugs hooked up to a mayflower electronics amp/dac combo and a snowball usb mic. Works like a charm and my friends think it sounds good to when we play togheter.
The difference between the *warm and clear* presets is present... But it is so subtle that if I were not listening for it, I wouldn't even notice it. I'm using a pair of reference headphones which is probably why I can hear it but most people will not hear the difference.
i recommend people to not be to stingy when buying headset. I had to buy 3 cheap logitech headsets over 2 years, because they broke so easily. Now i have had an expensive sennheiser headset for 7 years and its still going strong. In the long run i have saved a lot of money.
I just feel like using a good value audiophile headphone like 58x, 6xx or k7xx (all of these less than 200 dollars) from massdrop with a modmic 5 (70usd) is a better value with better sound
I understand that should be more wide in terms of fitting, but my GSP500 it's very confortable to me, i do Endurance in Simracing and more then straight 4 hours with them in my head, i also have an old PC350, i think mine was sample for a Portuguese resselar and still rock.
Mic on that headset is too quiet for me. I have to turn myself up along with my friends turning me up in discord to hear me. I have a bassy voice too so I'm no exactly a quiet talker. Anything I might be missing? Just got the Arctis Wireless Pro so I doubt I'll go back to it, but just wondering. I mostly use it for my Switch now.
Hi. Great review, very in depth. I am trying to find the answer to a question that no one seems to know. Do you know if it's possible to accept and hang up skype calls with a button on this headset? can the smart button for example be configured to do it? I can't find any mention of it but I assume they might have put it in a firmware update? seems like a really weird thing to miss out given you might be using skype with a headset like this. Thanks for any help you can give.
I bought these based on your video ... They have a SERIOUS VOLUME LIMITING ISSUE. Playing games like PUBG. My 5 year old Razer Kraken 7.1 are twice as loud. Which means ... even if you max out the volume on both the headset and the computer it fails when you need to hear footsteps or feint sounds. A $50 pair of headphones are currently much more viable for gamers who need more volume ... returning my pair immediately as there is no option to increase volume ... not worth the money in any way shape or form.
I wish they were still available, because I'd had loved to see your opinion on the SkullCandy Plyr1. I've been using them for a few years, and to my ear they sound great and work well, with the one caveat being an older design with no software and it was difficult to figure out the Dolby surround initially.
If you're spending that much you mine as well get the Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless. Best headset I've ever used, own (I currently have 5 different headsets), and full of features. Goes for $50 less than this headset as well. Highly recommend for enthusiasts.
Hi, can these be plugged to aux also ? Or can you recommend a nice headphones wireless, bluetooth, with dongle bluetooth also, aux and with the mute when lifting the microphone headset? Thanks,
great review as allways. Question... if i connect it over bluetooth with my TV (lg oled c6 55) and play a dolbyvision netflix movie when i press the smart button does anything ? any 3d effect at all?
I gave up on headsets a few years ago. The best sound quality will always come from a proper pair of headphones with a good DAC and AMP. It's truly worth the investment. Sound is such an important aspect to the immersion of games, its something that gets overlooked sometimes. That said, headsets are convenient, and take up less space. They certainly have their purpose. That being said, the price of this headset is completely atrocious. $350 for a plastic, low end Sennheiser with a microphone attached. Not saying the plastic is going to fall apart, or it's low quality, but you're hitting the price range for where more premium materials should be getting used. Also, those pads are terrible. At this price range, you're going higher than M1060C's, fostex T60rp's, AKG 701's, Beyerdynamic's DT line, etc etc etc. You're not getting what you're playing for. Good sound quality isn't $350. A gaming headset, especially one compatible toward consoles should not cost this much when you consider what you're getting. Plastic, no USB-C, bad comfort, gaudy ass looks. I love Sennheiser, but you're paying for a name with this product. Please note, I hate to dismiss a product like this. I have no doubt the bottomline sound quality for a gaming headset is good, these are just at a bad price point when the rest of the headset is considered.
Hey question what do you think about the hyper x orbit s vs the 670 ??? I can trade them in but I’m not sure if I should. I don’t mind the wire either, and I was thinking about buying the epos amp the $80. If you can please let me know your opinion
Small correction regarding the battery life they claim. This is taken from their website "With over 20 hours run time over Bluetooth®, and 16 hours using the low-latency connection" low-latency connection being the connection used with the dongle. So seems spot on with what they claim.
So if you are gaming on the PC and get a call on your phone, you cant take the call with the headset, because it will always choose the Dongle if it is sending?
If the sponsor ads are that clever from now on, I won’t complain about them. Beautiful headset.

@@KAKUN_DESU USB-C is reverse able and can transfer much more data/power than micro USB. Imagine USB-C like Apple's lightning connector but it's better in every way.
@@KAKUN_DESU most USB-C cable are from USB A (2.0/3.0) too USB-C so you don't need a adapter unless the cable is USB-C to USB-C :)
@@KAKUN_DESU another to add is it has a better endurance rating. As in unpluging it and plugin in, eventually all ports wear out but i think usbc is litterary double the endurance rating vs micro usb
Where did you find the "fixed" software? I got an EPOS headset a week ago and the software does nothing more than take space on my ssd.
The battery life on this thing is amazing!
so.. GSP 760 VS Audeze Mobius? who's are the best?
Good detailed review, the modmic wireless still sounds better for the mic performance to me.
I got a pair of these for 120, they're a bit heavier than my other sets of headphones, but for what I paid I'm super happy.
How is the range? Is it true what he said about 4 meters being the max before it starts getting distortion and poorer quality?
+1
Tried them on Best Buy's Magnolia and DAMN!!!!! came back home and ordered the GSP 670, with a free mouse pad and stand.
The cool thing is that they told me i could return them back within 30 days if i change my mind.
So in a 1 on 1 comparison between GSP 670 and Steelseries Pro Wireless...which one you taking?
that would be a nice comparison since they have the same pricepoint
Arctis pro easy
Agreed Aramark. The cushions matter. Being it’s been a few years what headphone/ headset would you suggest highly or the best for online action games?
Please do more videos on Headsets! I seen all of them.
I don't know if mentioned, but how is audio compare with the GSP 600 and GSP 670? Is it better, worst, or similar?
Im usin gsp600+ gsx1000. What you think about that combo, i dont think im going to change these. Before these i used astro a50 and a50 was best wireles headset ive used.
well hello there
it don't matter
it's about where i'm going...
sure..
we'll see..
everybody loves a 4 way hidden d-pad and a cool oled display...
plus i'm quite sensitive at 24,000 dpi plus rgb you gotta try.....
Are these plug n play, like in a work PC, or do they need software install?
Good review, thank you
How would you compare the 7.1 sound positioning between the GSP670 and the Logitech G933/G935?
Would you recommend these headphones for recording your voice overs? It seems like a bad piece of equipment for voice over.
ricky v if your referring to the mic absolutely not. There is no wireless gaming headset worth a shit for mic sound. The best it gets is various lapel mics or the modmic wireless.
Truth Time TV Thank you for this bit of info. I was wondering about this.
I want to see or hear the comparison between this and Antlion Modmic Wireless mic.
I was waiting for this :)
I'm still waiting on "guardians of the galaxy 3".
Best in-video add ever!
I go with sony in ear plugs hooked up to a mayflower electronics amp/dac combo and a snowball usb mic. Works like a charm and my friends think it sounds good to when we play togheter.
Ear phones arent as good sound quality wise cant hear foot steps as well in csgo from my experience.
I’ll still rock my Astro A50 gen1 for now then. They feel very comfy.
Jeff You should check z reviews guide for audiophile headsets that are good for gaming as well. 58x is indeed a good one awaiting mine to arrive.
Sennheiser Game One and sound blaster z for wired and Steelseries arctis 7 2019 for wireless use. I like both.
I think I want a comparison between companies, Logitech g935, steel series arctics pro hyper x cloud flight, razor nari ultimate etc...
I think I'll go for the PC 373D instead. I used to have the previous model and was VERY happy with that one.
I understand that should be more wide in terms of fitting, but my GSP500 it's very confortable to me, i do Endurance in Simracing and more then straight 4 hours with them in my head, i also have an old PC350, i think mine was sample for a Portuguese resselar and still rock.
I'm still really enjoying my relatively new and outstanding sounding Sennheiser pc37x from massdrop thanks.
Highly recommend for enthusiasts.
when did you switch and why did you switch to da vinci resolve from adobe premiere?
Hi, can these be plugged to aux also ?
Or can you recommend a nice headphones wireless, bluetooth, with dongle bluetooth also, aux and with the mute when lifting the microphone headset?
Thanks,
great review as allways. Question... if i connect it over bluetooth with my TV (lg oled c6 55) and play a dolbyvision netflix movie when i press the smart button does anything ? any 3d effect at all?
Is there a compressor function for the actual headphone audio output?? Or is it only for the mic?
Using the Rapoo VH-150. Great headset for the money!
Hey Dimitri, can you please tell me does it compare well over a non-gaming good quality headphone like HD 58X I already have?
g935? maybe VS its predecessor g933?
HD660S > HD800s
Hey question what do you think about the hyper x orbit s vs the 670 ??? I can trade them in but I’m not sure if I should. I don’t mind the wire either, and I was thinking about buying the epos amp the $80. If you can please let me know your opinion
Release date?
Is that a Mod Mic mount on the side of your Hyper X cloud Flight?
Small correction regarding the battery life they claim. This is taken from their website "With over 20 hours run time over Bluetooth®, and 16 hours using the low-latency connection" low-latency connection being the connection used with the dongle. So seems spot on with what they claim.
any clue on where can I get them on the US? or just from the Sennheiser web page?
I'd really like a comparison to the creative SXFI wireless headset..
i wish they would make a wireless headset where the mic quality isn't compressed. something like a wireless game one
lol, I like the brutally honest review. Good humor.
I see the Sennheiser GSX 1000 in the software. Can this headset be used with the GSX 1000?
do you have any tips for equalizing this thing because i have problems with the shooting sounds
is the sidetone loud enough? every wireless gaming headset I've ever tried has the sidetone at barely above a whisper even at max volume.
So if you are gaming on the PC and get a call on your phone, you cant take the call with the headset, because it will always choose the Dongle if it is sending?
Ppl hating on how it looks but I think it's nice
Wish they make open back wireless headphones
Sennheiser rs185
So how does it compare to some of the non-gaming headset like the bose and sony?
