This is indeed where milf started
Also back here what jim did with the webcam wasnt illegal, the net was so new
17:20 The Dad walked away because he thought his Daughter was talking to him...hearing his footsteps coming up the stairs
This movie coined "MILF" ...after this movie every m ale would do the "MILF MILF MILF'
In America, they call them lsats. Mine was 167. im considered a genius, but I don't think I am. My father said the most brilliant thing I ever heard. You can be good at some rings but not at everyrhing. So I strive to keep learning.
Jim’s dad will forever be the goat of this series
He's so supportive and tries so hard to relate to Jim's experiences! He really is the best 🥰
Jim's Dad is the best character of the Series
Everyone loves me levinstein 😂
Mr Levenstein is a beast!
He's the only character that's in all the movies. They should do a final movie about Jim's dad.
Yes, this is where the term MILF was popularized.
Thank John cho and the other milf guy for that.
Yeah, the term had been floating around, but it was mostly in "bro" culture. This movie made it a common term.
@@476429 hence why he said popularized……bruh
This movie got it from porn. 90s teen got it from this movie. And so on
@@DannyCosmos I was agreeing with him.
I hope she keeps watching the original American pie series. She'll find out stiffler is everybody's best friend, and Jim's dad is the most wholesome. She would love his character .
yeah hoping for 2 & 3 myself.
Yeah 3 was the peak though; all the "American Pie Presents" movies are better forgotten
@@MrTommygunz420 Honestly, there were a couple I enjoyed. Obviously nowhere near the level of the main series, but for direct to video spin-offs I found Band Camp and Naked Mile pretty watchable and entertaining.
@@drln1ghthaunter4 was better than 3
@@MrTommygunz420yes! I agree completely, those spin off movies aren’t real American Pie movies
Also Vicky's dad wasn't chill...the joke was her mom said to call her for dinner....she said "I'm coming, I'm coming" 😂
“I’m sorry I didn’t get her name. But hopefully my son did.” 😃
I noticed the same thing. Really bothered me how she didn't get it 😂
@@calebhodson7421 That's the line from American Pie 2
@@fleason771 Yep I know 😃
yeah me too

American Pie 2, American Wedding, American Reunion are a must watch
She definitely has to watch them.
Agreed. But don't bother with the spin-offs, they're all pretty weak.

The "I am coming" joke flew right by her 😂😂😂
Mary thinking every kid during that time would have their own computer.. or even one with internet..
1 computer per house usually.. alot of places had none tho
Lol I know, also because to use the “Net” you had to disconnect the house phone to log on .
and filming someone back then was NOT illegal, because there were no laws for it... they came later...
Rooted his mum.😂 You Aussies have such a way with language.
Rude as…
I’m always waiting for the ‘as what’ part when my Aussie coworker says that. Like as a culture they just collectively decided to stop mid sentence.
True as, mate.
From now on, every time you hear the words "this one time" your mind will be saying "at band camp" 😂
Never watched How I Met Your Mom or Buffy. She'll always be Michelle to me.
@@Caseytify That’s funny. I watched Buffy long before I ever saw American Pie, so to me she’ll always be Willow.
I never saw her the same way again after this movie.. not on Buffy or How I met you mother.. Heck i can’t even watch Penn anf Tellers Fool Us with her Eps .. Without thinking of that magic trick from this movie
@@Thundarr100 Same. The *ONLY* reason I dared to watch these movies(and I've rewatched the 2nd multiple times)was because"Willow"was in them.
At least three people in this film were in the Jay and Silent Bob movie. Nadia was Justice. Stiffler was the guy who Jay threw out the van. You already knew who Jason was.
Pie fkr
The pie f***er!
@@daryl772003 in prison, he’ll be the pie
Please watch the rest of the series, it’s really worth it.
When it comes to movie dads, Jim's dad is the GOAT. No matter what, he loved his son and was always there for him. That's all we can ask for in a father.
My sister was an extra on the 4th movie, American Reunion, which they filmed around the Atlanta area not far from where we live. She said the whole cast was very nice, and that Sean William Scott (Stiffler) was the most normal and down-to-earth person she'd ever met.
Watching some of the interviews with him, he is Very Down to Earth!!!
Yeeeah, Sean William Scott is a goddamn treasuree.
@@thracks lol
I'm not really sure why, but that ones one of my favourites in the series.
@@bigbird908well he’s not an A lister, but yes he had a decent career after these movies which is more than anyone else from these movies
I think this entire series is great. If you enjoyed this one you will enjoy them all.
All 4 American Pie movies are GREAT! They all have a good underline message in them! Plz keep watching this series... you will ENJOY!!
Wedding was the weakest out of all 4 of them though
There's another 4 on top of those. Not really worth it.
I don't think I've ever felt quite so old as when someone sees Alyson Hangigan and goes 'hey she' s from 'How I met your Mother!' rather than 'Willow!' 😪
I suppose that's still better than only knowing Alyson from "Penn & Teller: Fool Us"...
She was in "Willow"?
What should I say? I know her from "My Stepmother is an Alien" with Kim Basinger!
@@BubblyRainbows buffy the vampire slayer
Hahahah yes I'm old too
At this point, Alyson Hannigan was only known as Willow on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, who played a similarly meek and nerdy character at that point. Her big twist was such a shocking departure against type.
It's literally her fault if I started to watch this saga!
literally the girl i´d choose... especially with her in the 2nd movie...
If there was a TV show called Allison Hannigan does the Laundry, I would watch.
My mom took me to see this my junior year in High School, she was the only adult, the whole graduating Senior class was there and saw us walk in and were stunned. My Mom was laughing the whole time and loved it thought it better than Animal House. Those seniors invited me to their grad night because they thought my Mom was the coolest and didnt know how a nerd like me had such an awesome Mom. Also, for my 18th bday she took me to Hooters. She was pretty awesome now that Im typing this out.
I love the "Band Camp" story in part II when it takes place at Band Camp.
"This one time.... ah... here." LOL
In fairness to Stifler, listening to women is truly a lot of work.
Especially as they usually don't want solutions to the problems they complain of.
Kinda telling on yourself there.
Then he's a weakling.
@@MacGuffinExMachina Ugh. You said that very vaginally.
I take notes so I can remember all their co-workers names since I've never met them, favorite color, etc.
I think you missed it, but there was a great cameo in this movie. When Jim and Nadia were broadcasted on the internet, the band who stopped playing and sat by the computer to watch the "show" was Blink 182! They also play the song when Jim is running :) Btw, it's so crazy that I remember watching this movie as a 12-year-old a few months after it came out, and now more time passed since Reunion than it passed between American Wedding and Reunion! 🤯
funny story, I was working part-time evening in a fancy-hotel after school when this movie came out... in spring '99 a record company was staying in one of the conference-suites, and I just happened to find an early pre-release of "enema of the state" when clearing down lunch. I was already a fan of Blink-182 at the time, so obviously I _borrowed_ it, and was listening to it for months before any of the singles or album were released :)
I did a few copies for friends, but resisted sharing it online.
American Pie 2 is absolutely hilarious.
It's even better than the first one.
If you enjoyed this, you HAVE to watch American Pie 2.
First time I watched this with a friend there's a scene in the middle of the movie (the scene is with the Michael Jackson song Smooth Criminal) that we were litterally rolling on the floor laughing.
I don't think its better but just as funny.
The "Oh no" had me cracking up big time😆😆
Jim's dad is such a vibe in these movies.
He makes things so awkward, but he's got his son's back 100%.
The sequels are definitely worth
I think one of the best movies in this genre/time period is Eurotrip! Not sure if you've reviewed that one already, but it is top tier
Great movie. Came out a bit after this though.
Road Trip as well.
Scotty doesn't know😂
Road Trip and EuroTrip are both awesome...so much fun
Jim's dad is one of THE best movie dads...he was always supportive and there for his son...no matter what embarrassing situation...in all the sequels too
I read he was written completely differently at first, Eugene Levy had to heavily script-edit the character into what we got on the screen because he hated the part at first. So glad he did, and it's a testament to how skilled Levy is in cinema.
AP2, Wedding and Reunion are the continuing saga of this group. All very fun
Great choice to watch Mary, American Pie is classic comedy gold, and really funny film on rewatches, Jim’s Dad and Stiffer are both my favourite characters in the series!
When this first came out in 1999, Thomas Ian Nicholas who played Kevin was the only actor who I knew from it because he was a child actor before it… he was the kid in Rookie of the Year and he was in A Kid in King Arthur’s Court a few years later
This was 1999, computers were still a one-per-family thing. Many households still didnt even have one. The video streaming aspect alone wouldve been cutting edge for the time since most people who even had PCs and the internet at all wouldve only been on dialup capable of loading a single frame every second or two.
I graduated in 99, and I remember waiting hours over dialup for the Phantom Menace trailer. We've come a long way.
17:23 The dad was no "chill about that": He wanted to come to her room to tell her dinner is ready, and heared her saying "i am coming" to him (so he assumed). So he didn´t had to enter her room anymore, because she already confirmt that she was coming... for dinner.
I'm glad Mary has watched Schitt's Creek. IMO, one of the best TV shows ever made. :)
This is the first time I've watched this in about 20 years, and I think I enjoy it in twice as many ways as I used to. Just a barrage of moments of "That was me, I was that stupid!", and yet still glorious all in their own way.
I could make a crude joke here about swallowing but I’ll hold back
Oh, holding back about swallowing is tight
You can't do that. If you have a joke just spit it out
@@h2ohydrox rimshot
@@diegopansini3152 super easy, barely an inconvenience.
Most of these actors were actually 18 or 19. As a matter of fact, the guy who played Finch was only 17 which is why they couldn't actually show any of what he was supposed to be doing with Sifler's mom. In the DVD commentary they talk about about having to work around the actor's ages.
Lots of teenagers who were born in the 80's and 90's didn't really get told a lot about consent and when media like this normalized a lot of questionable or outright illegal things...it definitely did some damage. Lack of communication from parents and schools meant people learned from their friends and from what they saw on TV. Frankly there are a few things I did as a teenager that I wish I could undo.
The actor who played Steve Stifler, (Seann William Scott) was in the movie Bulletproof Monk, which was pretty cool.
Definitely 👍
he was the sheep guy in jay and silent bob strike back.
No point of telling her that when she hates him with all her life 💀
Remember the thing about Kevin, about what he said before prom, that "love" is a term that gets thrown around. When he says it, he wanted it to be more than words...to be perfect. So when he said "I love you" to Vicky, he really meant it. So that's why he was heartbroken, when Vicky decided to break it off after they spent the night together.
It's so adorable the way you blushed and got embarrassed at different points in the movie. You're the best ❤
Another great movie from about this time worth watching is There's Something About Mary.
The cat just grooming itself in the background the entire video is killing me 😂
Nadia(Shannon Elizabeth) also played Justice(Jay's love interest) in Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back.
This was the first real entry for me that defined the "crude high school comedy" genre that paved the way for so many others later on. Very glad you reacted to this. And as expected, referencing Biggs' cameo in Jay and Silent Bob at the start made a lot of sense, since that was your previous upload.
Started w Porkys. Then you had Grease, Rock & Roll High w the blonde girl from the original Halloween. The one that gets strangled and then theres Last American Virgin and Fast Times at Ridgemont High. You gotta watch all those bc they paved the way for American Pie. AP took that torch and ran w it.
Porky's, 18 years earlier, did that.
@@davidz3879 To clarify, my words were meant to point out this was my foray into such films for myself. Other things existed before, of course. Growing up in the 90's though, any kid being able to sneak watch such movies was virtually impossible without their parents knowing.

Gaahh Dammit Mary! You made me relive it through you. Your laughing was contagious!!
Lol 45 minutes of 'tell me you've never been in a highschool guys shoes without telling me youve never been in a highschool guys shoes"haha great vid
The first four with this cast is the best. When they started branching out with the other ones not so much.
" this one time in band camp" and "Stiflers mom" are the most qoute phrases
You absolutely have to watch the others. They only get better and the story continues
Brit guy here and I saw this in a cinema in Albany Oregon and the atmosphere was amazing! This came out at the same time as The Phantom Menace and SouthPark bigger longer and uncut
The guy who plays stiffler was also in jay and silent bob, he was the hippie jay threw out of the van
Seann William Scott 😉
He was the only cast member of these movies who actually had a decent career, him and Allyson Hannigan who played Michelle. Now they’re still not “A plus stars” but that did have decent careers which was better than any of the other actors from American Pie
@@nsasupporter7557 Biggs has been in a few other things. Nothing as big as American Pie, but he’s never not had work.
@@RandomNonsense1985 yeah true, that goes for all of them also… none of them have never not had work. All of the cast of American Pie have been in at least a few other movies also
No point of telling her that if she hates him with all her might 💀
I love the new editor and the edits throughout these recent videos
Im here for it, can't wait to watch your reactions to all the american pie movies!
Maybe it has been too long since I have watched American Pie because I don't remember anything in it that could make me sick to my stomach.
Saw this twice when it came out. The first time was in the movie theater with a bunch of friends when it still had it's NC-17 rating. The second time was as a double feature with "Lake Placid" at the drive-in theater on a date.
I think the rest of the series is worth a watch. Wedding especially has a lot of heart
Wedding was the weakest out of all 4 of them, honestly. Reunion was better than Wedding
American Pie 2 is definitely worth a watch! Also, for future reference, "Teenage Dirtbag" is by Wheatus, not Weezer.

Blink-182's cameo when Jim "blew it" haha 23:06
i actually love that there are many little details that are different in your reaction to this movie, compared to people i know and myself who saw it, when it came out. plays right into the discussion about the origin of humor i had today.
Most people's first time is casual, not in a relationship.
Milf was a reasonably new term back then
"Whats with this music?" I absolutely lost it. That face, Mary!
The second is my personal favorite. Please continue.
This types of movies won't survive this generations judgmental mind 😂....I grew up watching this and it taught me life lessons (thanks jim's dad). But overall I learned what not to do in front of females 😂. And yeah not losing to the pressure that other people gives you is the best, Im 22 and still single with my family pressuring me but I just don't care 😂
Mary, there is no more important thing to a teenage boy than losing his virginity.
Your reaction to this movie had me howling! 😂
yeah, and much of it is socially driven by peers or parents
@@Rhodair
I would agree with peers; not so much with parents.
@@Rhodair I mean yes, but no. Most of the pressure is very very internal. To say otherwise is just foolish.
Yeah she don’t get it. That will make or break you
I love this movie. It came out when I was starting high school and there's a bunch of stuff in this movie that takes me back. Jim slightly altering his hair and talking about whether to be cool, laid-back Jim or mysterious Jim is hilarious to me. I once spent the entire 3rd period in chemistry class earnestly debating the merits of my friend getting his hair cut on Tuesday instead of Wednesday for a date on Thursday, but Monday was too early and ruin the whole thing. The clothes, the music, and the technology are all a nostalgia trip that I indulge in once a year. For about a week after, I have to actively restrain myself from a trend popular during my entire time in high school where if you started a story with "one time" someone would cut you off with "at band camp?"
As for continuing to react, I really like all the sequels in the main series (American Pie 2, American Wedding, American Reunion) so I hope you do finish the series.
To put this film into context particularly regarding broadcasting someone on the internet with a webcam, it took quite a while for the law in the US (and no doubt other countries too) to catch up with modern technology and the way they could be used.
This film was released in 1999. I first saw the internet in late 1998, it was dial up, the data rates were very slow indeed.
It was only in late 2004 (following the Susan Wilson voyeur case) that a new federal law was brought into being, so this film predates that law by at least 5 years.
Wilson's case originated in 1998 (she was secretly filmed, but it didn't constitute a criminal offence so nothing was done), but even by 2004 (the time it took to lobby for new law) the law only applied to a limited range of situations and still didn't apply in private residences.
It's easy to expect current standards and laws, but there is always a timeline when these things were recognised as an issue and laws created or amended to protect people and create new offences.
Yeah American Pie 2 and 3 are great too. 2 is a good continuation of everyone's story post high school, with heaps of laughs. 3 changes it up slightly and takes it a step further into early adulthood. I think 3 probably rates a little stronger with a female audience but it is definitely funny too. I would love to see you react to both! I enjoyed your reaction to this and your use of some great Aussie terminology, like "rooting your mother" etc. 😁This movie came out around the time I and all of the other first millennials graduated from high school and it was really iconic, along with a lot of other great movies made for teens back then.
Did you watch the rated or the unrated version? Will you’ll be watching part two, three and four
One of the obvious differences between the two versions is in the pie scene. Jim was standing up when his dad walks in, which shows it was the rated version. In the unrated, he's on the kitchen worktop
I love when you say bloody he'll 😂
he should have a sign on the door saying - come in already disturbed - instead LOL great reaction hope you watch the next ones !!

Also. There's a few more movies in this series.
Really you only need two of them to wrap up "American pie 2, American wedding" the other ones are more optional to the story, but you will slowly see Stifler grow as a character in those two
part 2 - 4 are also very good and funny and entertaining !!
Keep going.. the development of the characters is crazy

I used to call him 'Generic Keanu'
I enjoy the American Pie series all the way up to Reunion. I did enjoy Band Camp, Naked Mile and Beta House even if they are weaker than the first 3 with no characters from the original except Eugene Levy. Book of Love was a miss though.
That last one that dropped in '20?
