This was quite pleasant in watching the q & a. The fact that you finally were able to take a huge step into doing this after so long is most commendable. Thank you so much for this! Always love the content you post. How much dedication and effort you put into all of it is so heart warming and admirable. I (we) hope to keep seeing you post more content for years to come.
Last year, I bought a switch along with BOTW and stumbled upon your music. You are the reason I asked my grandfather if I could inherit my late grandmother’s 30 string harp, which had been sitting untouched for over a decade. I’ve been playing for about 6 months now. Thank you for inspiring me, Amy :)
So encouraging that you, who to me shares the crown of the top three harpists in the world, would have confidence issues at all. You always look so determined when you play.! Glad to know that we are all human and I am not alone in this. Thank you for your mind-blowing inspiration that anything can be done on a harp, and jaw-droppingly so.
Thanks for watching! As far as I know I think everyone deals with confidence issues sometimes. My determination to play the harp is one of the things that helps me with the stuff I'm not so sure about. 💜

Thank you for doing this generally. Have been loving your music and performances for years now, it was a nice surprise and your presence and personality that shines through is so wonderful. I want to thank you a bit more specifically with context: Taking a long time off to work on my music and album and was feeling overwhelmed about getting back into music ( have learned and forgotten how to sight read 6 times in my life) and your wise wise heartfelt words regarding practice just soothed my soul and reinvigorated me to my own inner being, much like your music always has.

HI Amy , an Absolute pleasure to meet you. I am from the Chicago area, where my Grandmother was an accomplished Concert Harpist. I bet her harp was a Lyon and Healy as well back in the 30's. I am thrilled to have found you and to have the icing on the cake and actually have this up front and personal. Wishing you wonderful Holidays remaining and a Fabulous New Year . Warmly, marcia
Wonderful playing Amy…and as the great Roy Castle would say …dedication, thats all you need! Keep up this fantastic work! Your performances are stunning and captivating! If I may, can I make a couple of suggestions for pieces which might or might not be suitable for harp… Saint Saëns Aquarium it’s not very long but it might sound ok. Compliments for your music. I've been transfixed by your rendition of Bach Toccata and Fugue. There is much more than what comes to the eye (and the ears). The phrasing of the execution, the bass line, all things that I thought would be impossible to port over a harp. How you achieved that transcription for harp, how long it took you. It seems that some hard technicalities didn't bother you at all. There are more than just a few hints of genius in that rendition: it is a masterpiece reborn. Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions. Your music is beautiful! Which platform is best for buying your available tracks? P.S. I love how you coordinate your outfit with the music.
While studying Bach's D minor Toccata & Fuga on organ, struggling with the arpeggio´s, and seeing how fluently and naturally it's done on the harp, I wonder if the piece might originally been created for harp (..if created by Bach at all..?!) I admire Ur way of playing this masterpiece, like no one on organ !! Thnx. GuSt
Wow, you started playing the harp first, and then got into Zelda. That must've been like recieving a personalized gift, especially with Ocarina of Time. So many good songs with lots of harp!
I'd definitely recommend the Celtic harp if you can get a good price on one or rent one for a few months! That's how I started. You can get lap harps with levers, too, so that's another option that's affordable.
This was great and thank you for the well considered answer. I hadn't thought of Link in those terms but another reason it probably wouldn't work. I suppose Link was all of us playing, in terms of him not having a distinct personality, not to be too corny. I think Netflix were in the process of preproduction of a series in an Anime style before it got cancelled, so for better or worse it may happen yet 😬. My follow up now would be what's your favourite tea? Yorkshire all the way here! Love the channel all the best 👍

@@amyturkharp I had to Google it there after to check. It looks like it got cancelled due to leaks, which seems odd given everything is so overexposed bedore it reaches post production elsewhere and on Netflix. I look forward to the tea tour in the future in that case 😊
Amy, your performance is so wonderful!! I'm also a harp major, and I want to record video and home-recording, but Amy doesn't even hear pedals, so do you do these separately? Or are you recording separately in the studio and re-recording the video? If you are recording at home, I wonder if you are using Cubase or Ableton or the microphone. And the harp is also an electronic harp?? I'm sorry for the many questions ^^ I'm an old lady, but I always love the harp and my goal is to play it until I become a grandmother. I always want to imitate a wonderful performance.
I love your Zelda music covers. Have you ever thought of doing the game over screen music from the original NES Zelda? No one seems to have done a harp cover of that one and I can’t imagine anyone else doing it more justice.
Amy, thank you for taking time to answer our questions. I enjoyed listening to all your responses. Is Bubs your cats name? One of my favorite videos of yours is J.S. Bach Toccata and Fuge in D Minor. I love your transcription of it. Have you ever thought of doing a video playing Bohemian Rhapsody on the harp? Looking forward to listening yours and Isabella's new music. It's been a little while since you posted this, but I thought I'd ask this anyway. I was going to ask on the video that inspired the question, but it's like five years old. Did you, by any chance, study eurhythmics? Or is your skill with rhythm just down to having studied percussion? I'm just curious! I've never formally studied music beyond high school level, but I've been learning about the harp lately. It's a remarkably diverse and versatile instrument, and it seems to me you can do virtually anything with it, if you have the right type and playing technique. I personally would love to do therapeutic music. But I can't afford a harp, never mind lessons. But I still have dreams and I wonder how the more skilled harp players get to where they are.
So fun! Thanks for sharing! I'd love to hear more about you. What are your likes and dislikes. Your dreams? You are frequently played in my household. My husband and teenage daughter love your gaming music. Our youngest baby often falls asleep to your music and I love your modern remakes. You are a very talented woman! Wish you a wonderful future! God bless,
I've since stopped naming my instruments but she just had big female energy at the time. But my first harp was definitely a dude! TP for the win! All the dark evil stuff and the glowy ancient future tech = yes please.
I would love to see you compose and play music from Rare's Banjo Kazooie and Tooie. What great games they are and what great music they feature. Also I have to say Sonic Mania has some cracking music composed/arranged by Tee Lopes. It's soo good I bought the Sonic Mania vinyl from DATA-DISCS. I am impressed by your list of games you have played over the last few years. You clearly have a great taste in gaming. In my opinion there is not a single dud game on that list.

Please do not ever change your instrument, it has the perfect design and resonance, to make time stand still in the minds of your beholders.
I love your covers! Will you play “Stories of Remote Antiquity”, and “Vast and Blue”? Try listening to them theyre Genshin OSTs 😄
i love how you play and also i like your voice
Thank you so much
All proper instruments have a lady's name.
And I'm with you on Twilight Princess -- easily best game in the series.
I've since stopped naming my instruments but she just had big female energy at the time. But my first harp was definitely a dude!
TP for the win! All the dark evil stuff and the glowy ancient future tech = yes please.
いつも楽しく聴いています!いつか日本で公演してほしいです!
Very nice!
thank you
Wunderbar, dir zuzuhören.🙂
Ich bewundere dein Tempo an der Harfe.
Greetings from Germany
I would love to see you compose and play music from Rare's Banjo Kazooie and Tooie. What great games they are and what great music they feature. Also I have to say Sonic Mania has some cracking music composed/arranged by Tee Lopes. It's soo good I bought the Sonic Mania vinyl from DATA-DISCS. I am impressed by your list of games you have played over the last few years. You clearly have a great taste in gaming. In my opinion there is not a single dud game on that list.
I actually forgot to add Disco Elysium to that list and only remembered about a week ago 🤦♀️
Thank you so much!
Hope my answers helped and thanks for asking! 💜
Nobody asked about the foot pedals? I'd love an explanation on them please, great vid cheers from Canada.
