      Well it’s part of an antique pump organ. I actually am ready to part with it. I want more room for my harp.

    Yes, yes, yes, I have the same question as Anne Crosby-Gaudet! I‘m also interested to know, where I can get this intelligent little tool! Deal Cristy-Lyn, thank you for this instructive video! I regret that I‘m not able to give a double thumb. Welcome back on your channel, it‘s e great joy to hear from you! Thank you so much for sharing all your experences you made in USA. Christiana

      You can ask your harp maker (or harp shop where you bought the harp) and they’ll be able to tell you which tool to buy. There are a few different ones depending on your harp 😊

    I'm so glad you mentioned the object in the room resonating. I've had this happen with a frame drum on my wall that caused a huge buzz, but at first I was convinced it was the harp, especially since the drum "liked" only two particular strings' frequencies so it seemed as though those strings were the problem. I was going out of my mind, because the harp was brand new and I couldn't believe it was broken already. Luckily I figured it out before making an angry call to the manufacturer!
    Sorry about the late reply and thank for you helpful videos.

    OMG OMG OMG SUCH a useful video thank you Christy-Lyn for the idea and kudos and thanks to Liza Jensen!!!! I have had the low C buzzing (TWANGING!) for a while and yup - it was hitting the lever ... now, to find a gadget to adjust it! :)

      You might not have the kind of guide pins that screw in and out. With such a short video, there are so many different kinds of levers and hardware for your harp... You MAY have to use a hammer and punch to Tap the guide pin into the harp. BUT at least now you do know the why. :)

  • @joyconners4615

    Great video! I had heard about string tails touching each other - but I didn't think it might be string tails touching the sound board! Another one I've found is if you have a pickup in your harp. Sometimes when my pickup plug slips out of its casing even a bit it makes an awful buzz. Do you know what harp Liza is demonstrating on? It looks like such a nice little size!

    • @LearningtheHarp
      @LearningtheHarp  5 лет назад +1

      Oh yes that’s true!! Happened to me before too 😆 Liza told me the model of the harp but I forgot. Oops! In July it was for sale, might still be available. You could email her?

    How do I loosen my lever harps smallest bridge pins?
    Not the tuning pins.
    The small bridge pins end in a cone shape unlike the others.

      Hi there! I don’t think anything else will work. Perhaps you could buy one - it shouldn’t be too expensive. Ask your harp maker or harp shop which tool will work for your model of harp. Hope that helps! 💕

      Hi! Not all guide pins screw in and out. It will depend on the type of hardware that your harp has. It may be that the guide pins for your harp need to be tapped in with a pinpunch and hammer/mallet. Contact your harp maker to find out. These items can be easily purchased at your hardware store. WARNING: If you hammer the guide pin in too far, you will have to use leverage to pull it back out again. I have a trick for that too...

    I had a severe buzz in my harp early on, and I discovered that my tuning stick(? in the shape of a T) was standing up inside my harp and the standing part was vibrating against the wall of the inside of my harp. Now I just try to keep it always laying flat.

    • @LearningtheHarp
      @LearningtheHarp  2 года назад

      Oh that’s strange! It’s not normal to keep your tuning key inside your harp - perhaps that was just for transport? I’ve never heard of that before. I recommend storing your tuning key somewhere else, so there’s no risk of it causing buzzing 😊
